Hi guys, I'm borrowing a friends Rift S for a few days to see what it's like before i purchase a VR headset. Has anyone got any tips etc on what settings to run or any hidden settings i need to be looking at? I'm pretty clued up with settings on my current setup but VR is totally new to me. Or is it just a case of plug in and go for it? Cheers guys....

Quick question before I pull the trigger to order one... My motherboard is a Strix Z370E and reading some of the issues regarding USB power I’m wondering where’s best to plug it in? Will it go directly into the USB C port on the back? Do I need a separate USB power hub thingy?? Thanks....

I tried this the other day and whilst it definitely worked it didn’t have the same effect as the in game setting but I was on a 1080P screen. I imagine with a 1440p screen it’ll be spot on. So much so, I’ve just ordered one!

Real Environment Extreme for DCS. Now I would pay good money for that!

I read something similar actually about that so you’ve just confirmed it. So, say for instance I got a 1440p monitor does that mean I don’t have to run SSAA at all because the resolution is already up there to that quality?? Sorry for the probably daft questions but I just don’t want to spend money on something that’s maybe not necessary.

Hi guys. I’m currently running a 144hz 1080p 24” monitor but I’m feeling I need to upgrade it. Before I pull the trigger on a new one and waste £600 ish I want to know a few things:- I’m looking at the Asus PG278-QR... Will I notice much difference in quality? Will I still be able to comfortably run DCS at 60FPS (locked) with high settings like I do now? Basically, is it worth going to a 1440p monitor? Will I still need to run MSAA x2 and SSAA x2 like I do now? This topic has probably been done to death so please excuse me! Thanks guys...

Actually after spending some time on it last night I think it looks bang on as it is. Wouldn’t mind trying a 1440p monitor but I can’t imagine it’ll look much better than what it’s like now...

I'm kind of thinking maybe I ought to be moving over to a 1440p monitor. The monitor i have currently is an Acer XB240H 144hz 1080p. Will i see much difference moving to 1440p? Will i get less shimmering textures? Basically is it worth shelling out £500? Advice needed! Thanks guys...

Yeah MSAA x4 and SSAA x2 definitely looks the best but it definitely has the biggest hit. Although if I turn shadows off I can run it ok at 60 until over built up areas or big areas of trees. I think even a 2080ti wouldn’t be able to run it at that going by what I’ve read on here.

Ah fair one, I’m using 1080p so that’ll explain why it makes a difference...

I use MSAA x2 and SSAA x2. The quality is spot on and I'm locked at 60 FPS. If I use say MSAA x4 and SSAA x1.5 it definitely doesn't look as good, noticeably more shimmering. The FPS killer for mine is MSAA x4 plus SSAA x2, drops to 52 FPS with that.

I did think that to be honest. Would you recommend uninstalling it? Although I do use the Bitsum High Performance mode, not sure if I even need that!?

Yeah I'm running pretty high settings too to be fair, SSAA x2 & MSAA x2 etc so I'm inclined to leave things how they are as it's running spot on. Was just a tad concerned at the low CPU usage but it might be fine.

Hi guys, Whilst I've got DCS running at locked 60fps with no stutters I can't help but think I've not got things quite right regarding affinity? Although I might be wrong.... I run Lasso but not sure if it's set right. In the basic Hornet free flight my GPU is at about 65% but my CPU is very low at like 9% ish. Is this right? I know it's only the free flight but would've thought my CPU would be higher? Thanks...

Wonder what's causing a bottleneck then? Really odd. Not heard of 'CPU Unpark' before, what exactly does that do? Cheers for your replies guys....:thumbup:

Yeah definitely set to High Performance mode. Definitely not heat, checked all that and plus the graphics card & CPU is liquid cooled. Just weird how it does it on NTTR and PG but not on Caucasus, never once done it on there. It's not a huge issue, it's just annoying when it does it!
