I’ll second this. A friend of mine runs his like a slideshow but he thinks it’s fine whereas I pick up on the slightest of stutters. 60fps monitor and 45fps VR...standard.

Ok with ya... So my DCS main folder is on a separate SSD which is the D:\ There's nothing else on this drive apart from DCS but I'm having trouble getting my command prompts to work. D:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin

So simplu updating through the GUI utility doesn't work? I have to do the whole command prompt method like it does in the link you sent?

Done that mate and entered the previous beta in the box but I can't find the update button like it suggests in the instructions?

Hi guys, I've updated to 2.5.6 but in light of the recent performance drops I'd like to revert back to the previous. I've got 100% confidence in ED so I'm sure they'll sort it but in the meantime the previous one is spot on. Question is how to revert back? I've seen that there's some info out there but it looks very complicated and I don't want to mess things up completely! Cheers guys....

I've never had a go in the A-10 in DCS. I'm guessing by some of the comments here that I'm missing out? Might have to get it...….

Yeah there’s no right or wrong answer to my question I guess, I think I was more thinking out aloud when I posted it! Ha. I love the experience of VR etc etc but the quality is bugging me now, especially now being used to the immersion. I have thought about the Reverb to be fair, it’s tempting. I think the only thing putting me off is how well my PC will run it. Might be worth getting one to see... # Anyone near Lincoln in the UK with a Reverb Pro I could pop by and give it a try??#

Hi guys, I thought I’d post this up and ask the question as I can’t decide what to do! It’s doing my head in. So prior to buying my Rift S I was using TrackIR 5 and I bought a really expensive Asus Strix 1440p monitor and the DCS experience was absolutely fantastic! Quality, FPS, all perfect.... Then my mate got his Rift S and I was blown away...so I bought one too. My problem is is that I’m missing the graphics quality of my monitor and I’m thinking of going back to TrackIR. My Rift runs great though and I have no issues whatsoever on performance, maintaining a constant 80fps which switches to 40 when it needs to. The immersion is amazing obviously...BUT...I really am missing those sharp textures that I had before. I don’t know what to do! Has anyone gone from VR and back to TrackIR? Cheers, Jonny

Worth trying in VR? I’m running 2x MSAA but nothing tweaked in Inspector....

Yeah I’ve noticed this on PG for the best part of the year. No matter what I try in the settings it still does it. Hopefully ED can sort it.....

Interesting you should say this. Whilst I’m happy with the F-16, it runs well, I feel when flying the Hornet it seems better. Can’t put my finger on it but it feels ‘better’ in the Hornet. Not taking anything away from the Viper though.

Yeah definitely sounds like the folders issue. Happens to pretty much everyone on here if they don’t delete after an update. I always delete them pretty much every time I start DCS up. OCD probably! They’re located on the C:/....under users, saved games, DCS Open Beta.

Make sure you’ve deleted your FXO and Metashaders2 folders...

Interesting re the SSAA setting of 1.5. I turned this off and just run MSAA at 2x and PD 1.3 with the Tray Tool. Does having the SSAA @ 1.5 have a similar effect visually as MSAA?

I did a bit of experimenting with this. I always ran ASW on and locked at 40 and it was fine, that was running PD at 1.5 and MSAA x2. But, I was getting the dreaded ghost effect. If I turned ASW off the frames fluctuated between 65 & 70 but it was really juddery. The only way I could run with ASW off and it be smooth I literally had to turn the PD down to 1.1 and lower other settings. Weird. So I’ve now settled on PD 1.3 and switched ASW to auto and it mostly runs at 80fps unless low down with heavy scenery where it switches to ASW on and 40FPS.
