Can anyone tell me where the A-10A cockpit model is located and named? I can't seem to find any information on this anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-
Easiest way to do that is to color each template file a bright, distinctive color and save it with the proper name as in ka-50.skins, then when you get confused as to what's what in the template you're looking at you just copy that file into Bazzar/TempTextures/ and open the model viewer to see what's changed to that color.

I'm plenty capable at night, in and out of sim. ;)

Well, freeware models are... freeware. I don't see the big deal, especially with including it in a free lock on mod. Unless of course he took credit for the model.
-
Yes, that is correct. The INU does not incur errors, therefore using the Nav Fix function serves no purpose other than an exercise in procedure.

I think it would be cool, especially with the A-10 which communicates with ground forces quite extensively for targetting info and such. They even have a gun camera mounted on the Hawg that transmits what the pilot is seeing to the ground troops. It would be a very rich layer of depth slathered on top of an already extremely deep and immersive simulation. But personally, once the A-10C module is out I will be happy for a long long time. I'm unspeakably pleased they chose to do the Warthog second, and other than patches and improvements, I would be completely content without any major components being added. Not to say I don't want them, it's just that the A-10 is the creme de la creme for me. :)

Wheel button/scroll up/down on X-52 pro

HA! That's so fitting for this forum. -
Hmm, that's interesting. You're saying you could still use the uv maps with this technique and the coordinates would be preserved properly? That would be very handy indeed. I've just started relearning max, I haven't used it in six or seven years but it's all still up there somewhere.

Haven't used zmodeller personally, but others have said that it will import .lom, but not export. This feature is purposely disabled at the request of ED, to prevent their models from being used in anything but their games. I guess I can understand that, but if you ask me it's a bit overkill. If someone steals your model, you can always just sue the shit out of them. But yea, I feel your pain Slayer. I would love to be able to use a program like Deep Paint 3D to fix my seams instead of having to guesstimate for hours on end until I get it right.

To view your skin in the model viewer, simply name your texture files like so: KA-50-Paint1.psd = KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-01.bmp KA-50-Paint2.psd = KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-02.bmp KA-50-Paint3.psd = KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-03.bmp KA-50-Paint4.psd = KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-04.bmp KA-50-Paint5.psd = KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-05.bmp KA-50-Paint6.psd = KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-06.bmp KA-50-LRM.psd = KA-50-LRM-1.bmp KA-50-LRMpart.psd = KA-50-LRMpart-1.bmp KA-50-LRMcentre.psd = KA-50-LRM_centre.bmp KA-50LRM_B.psd = KA-50-LRM_B.bmp Copy them over to Ka-50\Bazaar\TempTextures\, run ModelViewer and tada! You have a nice preview of your skin. If you make any changes to the files you must restart the program for it to show up, simply reloading the model won't do.

Hmm... Actually, I think that's a pretty fair, logical way to go about things. I'll contact ED, thanks Chukk.

Sweet jesus yes! I've been scouring the internet for weeks trying to find those schematics with zero luck! A million thanks, and rep is headed your way. :):):)
-
The A-10 too, please! We know you got 'em, ED... :)
-
From what I've read, ED has chosen not to release the terrain creation tools. Is this true, and if so why on earth not? I was very excitedly planning on creating new missions with custom modelled high detail towns! I've even begun work on the models. I can still release them as replacements, but that isn't nearly as fun. :(
-
Fantastic! Thank you, that's been bugging me forever. But now, that makes me wonder... There's nothing mentioned about it in ka-50.skins, so does that mean if it's altered then it alters it for all the other skins?
-
For some odd reason, certain elements of the ka-50 model's uvmap are not included in the template package: engine exhausts/internal parts. At least the internal parts (perhaps the exhausts as well) are stored in a file called ka-50-paintX-DEF-03.bmp, but I can not for the life of me find where it is stored. So why wasn't it included in the template package, and/or does anyone know of a workaround?
-
No, not as far as I can tell anyway.

They don't look that bad, really. The thing about remodelling them is there's going to be alot of them on screen at once. If you actually modelled the individual beams it would be way too big of a performance hit. Unless these use LOD's I think the costs would outway the benefits. The fuzzy sprite things hanging off the beams could do with an actual model though.

If the wheel brake channel on the hydraulics panel is holding steady at a little under than half way, the parking brake is set. I find it's a little easier to see the auxillary channel than the cyclic lever.
-
The first list of textures is your default skin, so you just change the names of the files to those of whichever skin you wish to use. You can use CDDS Studio or Modman to open any of the files in Ka-50\Bazzar\World\Shapes and get the filenames for the particular skin you want to use.

Actually, I just discovered that by editing ka-50.skins you can set the default skin to whatever you want! Problem solved. Thanks though.

...Anyone?

Instant Action Killed my Campaign Pilot

Why is my pilot gaining rank for missions not completed?
Chibawang replied to Frederf's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I am currently in a viscious campaign circle where it keeps giving me the exact same missions over and over again. I've been reflying all the missions until successful, as I thought that was how it was meant to be played. And now it just keeps giving me the same five missions repeatedly. I've played ATO A.03.3 countless times. I'm about to just start playing the missions one by one I suppose...
