What is bottlenecking my DCS ?
Wolf Rider replied to dureiken's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Its really simple ( I don't mean to come across as rude, and its not my intention to be doing so )... please post up a screenshot of your video card settings ( from your video card/ game profile/ and a screenshot of your ingame ( options/ graphics ) settings if you haven't adjusted any of these ( and by the seems of it, you may not have ), you could be having 'forcing' problems -

GTX1080 who is buying it?
Wolf Rider replied to hannibal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
GTX 1080 "Founders" edition AUD $1200 - go figure -
Cheers... now it all makes sense as to why MS stopped production of their FFB2 joystick >that< company, strikes again Totally agree mate... learn how to fly the bugga and ya learn what to expect - trim is an after action (unless you're coming in for a trap on a carrier, in which case you're pre - trimmed for power on and go around if ya miss ;) )

My feeling would be to have the sim act the real thing in regard to FFB and the virtual (in cockpit) stick and the RL forces which affect... Hopefully stick makers could include FFB in the future for higher end HOTAS' as standard (cheap sticks with ffb, are really bad, for what the user really wants to achieve), alleviating the non-ffb sticks' at center for neutral force after trimming. Compensating is rather easy, even if it doesn't "look" right

DCS 2.0 Nevada stutter help
Wolf Rider replied to gazmonalpha's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
could you define what your 'stutter' is please? And I think the point being missed is, if the monitor is running at 59Hz, it isn't going to sync with something sending 60Hz signals (is there another way to put this) and the symptoms described occur, when this condition present... The natural road forward for those who have such a monitor, would be if possible, to find an monitor onboard resolution (set the sim and Windows to the same) which is true 60HZ (as reported by the Monitor's OSD Info itself - and test Different people all describe different things as "Stutter". Some say "judder" is Stutter". Some say CPU Throttling is (stutter). making sense? -

Wolf Rider replied to gazmonalpha's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Cheers mate, but was asking does your actual monitor report its Vertical Hz at... from the resolution charts I've seen (in regard to your listed monitor and in hoping to help you a bit), it would be more like 59.9xxHz at 1920x1080. this ain't gonna sync at the 60hz the Op Sys/ VGA says. what happens is; a bit of jittery (which some might call stutter... ). It also introduces judder (which some might also call stutter), when movement on screen, usually terrain, I right/ left (not up/ down) and a slight pause or two when it all tries catch up to each other and perhaps a bit of tearing on occassion Now... you've got a motherboard close to its end of life, a slow platter drive, and a monitor ill suited for gaming monitor, it seems. have you thought of doing yourself a favour and perhaps, upgrading the hardware? -

What does the monitor's OSD menu (those button thingies on the side, perhaps) Info, indicate its refresh rate is? -

What, might your monitor brand and model be (is the '60Hz' what is indicates in the monitor itself)? and your WD 1TB HDD be a 7200 RPM perchance? The x58 series, is a screamer with a good SSD ;)
