  1. err... not "Everybody, i know have this stutters......" Seems AMD/ ATI still aren't having much luck?
  2. I (believe it or not) do agree with a "decent compromise... the "compromise" (effective for all) is the hard part though - and in that, not everone will be pleased... there in, the whinges/ wants continues
  3. I think, the real question to be asked is: do we want a Combat Simulator or a Civilian Flight Simulator... because an accurate combining of the both would be years off... way past when you and I (collective) are old feeble and long gone
  4. I guess, you've answered you're own argument... yes it does happen in real life. Separate to that is the hardware/ settings/ FoV issue - and no matter what occurs, no-one is ever going to be completely happy. The "air quakers" (just feed the rush of shootin' stuff down) aren't going to be happy with the "realistics" (just feed the rush of hunting stuff out) settings and visa versa. Its the age old age old, and has been on every forum going ever since when
  5. So do I, and I was so dismayed when the Voodoo 5 was pulled  Unfortunately, the rest is a DX, combined with a multitude other hardware addons problem, as well as naming convention (bug bear of programmmers has always been naming convention)
  6. That ^^^ appears to be a completely different game and not all, "who confirm" offer truths you and me both ;) :)
  7. @Bucic... it s a hangover from a previous technology and a trap for younger (or not so aware) players @Newy... doesn't really matter what the RAM count is... Page File is best left set to System Managed - W7 (and higher) goes about it different to the way XP and Lower did, where the boost was best, and most usefull)
  8. okay... what are your system specs though? (Full system specifications)
  9. well, ya can't expect to go in on at minimum specs and run maximum settings and have all peachy and smooth... just ain't gonna happen.
  10. agreed... naming convention is important with local and 3rd party devs now in the game
  11. Good call... Page File set to System Managed (the System Default) is best for this sim, using Windows 7 and higher nb changing it from Default really doesn't do much with W7 and higher... not like it did with XP, which worked a treat
  12. and there is the inherent "problem" of computer monitors and a 3D world being displayed on a 2D surface Unfortunately, that does happen in real life as well yes, that does happen in real life also... takes the eyes off target for a second and target needs to be required - only problem is, target isn't where it is remembered as being, and a good target isn't going to advertise (if it can at all avoid it) its position to you. just something to consider
  13. some, would find that un-"realistic" though :smilewink:
  14. images of damage... which may help the would be modeler... https://www.warhistoryonline.com/military-vehicle-news/damaged-b-17-bombers-that-made-it-home.html and what it must really have like, flying through flak
  15. Shouldn't be auto downloading/ installing updates ( or other ) whilst running a sim ( or other ) anyway
  16. no, not really... you've got a very old CPU/ Mobo, bare minimum RAM and trying to pump it through a very new VGA, which isn't able to run at its full potential Give it some consideration, perhaps?
  17. sets the multicore CPU to just run the Sim on the first two cores ( 0 and 1 ) if Core Parking is left On, it may cause grief. Otherwise its of no real benefit for Operating Systems newer than Vista (It was of great benefit to Windows XP, though. As long as it was set to use cores 1, 2 and 3 - leaving Core 0 for the OP Sys' use)
  18. try a later released CPU/ mobo with the newer released Operating System and hardware... makes a huge difference but as always... people are personal with their PC's, and what they believe is what they believe
  19. "The famous Memphis Belle, a B-17 World War Two bomber, is undergoing a major restoration project at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. The Memphis Belle was kept in Memphis, Tennessee for around 60 years before being transported to the museum in Dayton, Ohio for restoration. This work on the historic bomber began ten years ago, and it’s expected to take another two and a half years before it will be completed. ~ " https://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/memphis-belle-b-17-undergoes-restoration.html?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=postplanner&utm_source=facebook.com&src=fba&type=int&page=militaryaviation WWII Plane in a WWII thread... offering some hope and opportunity for insight
  20. basically a TV without the tuner masquerading as a computer monitor, for one; how is it possible to sync to 59.4, for the second ?
  21. https://www.thevintagenews.com/2016/03/12/b-17-fly-formation-via-b-17-pilot-training-manual-not-flown-closer-one-another-50-feet-nose-tail/?src=fba&type=int&page=tvn Just something to maybe help interest along a bit, perhaps
  22. if its a 59.4 Hz monitor... that is something to take into account
  23. bet its being read in Darth Vader voice ;)
