I have to agree with Hiromachi here. The frames can drop significantly around damascus, and probably some other large towns. Middle of the desert fighting would probably be more friendly to our frames, and the civvies in damascus

Had the issue too. A level release with a fuse timer or less than 100ms seems to not give the bombs enough space between each other, and they detonate. It definitly shouldnt be this way :(

Refueling -- External Tanks Not Filled: Bug or Not?
BonerCat replied to Bearfoot's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
It's a DCS issue. Just jettison your tanks before landing, or do 2 rearmings, one with no tanks, 2nd one with tanks on -
You may want to give "CLEARED HOT" servers a shot. With the server based in spain, the mission is a real time PVE/PVP small scale persistent campaign. The number of units in the missions might be an issue tho. Alternatively, I'd recommend you look for a small group to fly with, that has custom missions and such, and fly with them Good luck in your search!

The MiG-21 can carry the R-60M, which is why the Su-25 gets no for self def, and the MiG-29's are a pain to set up right As for the tomcat A bringing in older AIM-9's, yes that will solve the 9L problem And having tomcats on both sides would be quite confusing. Keep in mind most IFF on the server is done visually

A decent counter to the AIM-7 should be the R-27R Introduced in '83, with a range compareable to the AIM-7's, and also being a Fox-1, the missile stats are close. It can be carried by the MiG-29A, on 2 inner stations. No other plane we have on the server can carry it, so there should be no problem with warehouses and limits. The Su-27 can also carry them, but it's not in any missions as of now Modern aircraft lacking Fox-2's would be an interesting dynamic, where they would dominate in medium range combat, but lacking the missiles needed in close, they would be forced to go guns after the merge. Not a big problem for a Tomcat or a Fulcrum against a Tiger or a Fishbed, but quite distracting. It would be easy to Fox 2 one from behind while it's merged. That said, it would also probably be annoying to MiG pilots, as they can only carry 2 Fox-1's, making their sorties really short, where as the tomcat can have up to 6 sparrows if it wants to It would solve the R-60M and AIM-9L problem tho

A suggestion for the mission "One night in Arabia" Can we get some pre spawned ground units to strike before helicopters deploy stuff at the main airbase/bulls/Kish island? It could be just a small outpost on the main land, that should make it easy for both coalitions to balance the placement, and it would give strikers something to do before the battle properly develops Striking it doesnt neccesairly have to lock/unlock anything, just an extra objective Cheers!

But AIM-9M's arent a thing anymore on this server for a long while now. The harrier only has dumb munitions as of right now, not even mavs

In the mission "Sail ahoy" blue awacs lands some 30 min before mission restart. I'd assume runs out of fuel

The Huey can home in on a number of different radio signals The ADF system, works much like in many other aircraft, will point the needle on the compass to the source of the signal The VOR system works much like the ADF system, but it operates on a specific set of frequencies, used to navigate to airbases Lastly, the Huey can home in onto a broadcast on FM radio. This can be used to navigate to small radio units, that can be carried by infantry or any other unit (i think) Aside from radio navigation, it's worth keeping in mind that the pilot can navigate comparing the map with what he sees, and if all else fails, flying in a certain direction at a certain speed for a certain amount of time can also get you places if planned and executed correctly PS. Here's laobi's vid on ADF and FM nav And one more vid worth checking out: PPS. I m not sure if this is an exhaustive list of the Hueys nav options. I recommend you look around a bit more

Umh Something is wrong here... https://imgur.com/o3fxBaN Not a big problem by any stretch, but would be nice to have it fixed

Oh, right The R-60 Apologies, I forgot about that one I suppose the bases 200nm away are the only way to keep those planes in At that point you might as well leave them out, but i guess it makes no difference Thanks for the response!

Search and destroy advanced fighters unlock There's a problem with the Mirages and MiG-29's in the mission search and destroy Essentially, it's too much effort for the reward You have to fly 180nm for blue, or 230nm for red, in a slow fighter that can do roughly 0.9 mach tops. This takes a LOT of time just to unlock that On top of that, the missiles are only available at those airbases that are 230nm for blue and 220nm for red to the target area If someone wants to unlock the mirage/mig-29 with missiles, they have to fly their korea era plane for some 30min, and then spend another 30min every sortie just to make it to the area with any sort of respectable payload, and another 30 min flying back if you lived For the 1st sortie, that's roughly an 1 hour and 30 min from F-86/MiG-15 takeoff to Mirage/MiG-29 landing, and roughly an hour every other sortie, and that excludes time on station, which won't be long, due to how much fuel you need to get there and back I understand that those aircraft are very powerful, but this just takes too much time to be worth it I think the "Prince of Persia" mission has a good setup, and while I know there are no bases closer to the AO for both coalitions, I think another solution might be better Here's an alternative to how it could be set up: Have the mirages take off from the same airbases as other aircraft, and/or change the unlocking method This could be slinging a crate like with other mission, flying it some 40-50nm in order to unlock the mirage slots, or escorting/destroying some units, or capturing an objective, or literally anything that doesn't take so long to accomplish This would mean that the slots that are available from the start would need to be removed, but it would hardly be detremental. It would also remove the possibility of players flying to that airbase with a plane from main base, effectively bypassing limited number of planes At this moment, it simply isnt worth unlocking those planes If the time to unlock and get to the AO was much closer to what we see in the "Prince of Persia" mission, they would be actually significant again TL;DR Too far, pls fix :D

I m talking about a mission in which you have to strike and enemy FARP, a factory at bulls, and a water station for blufor objectives, pretty sure it's called open range There are 2 crates for unlocking mirages to be flown to Krasnodar Pashkovsky from Maykop.
-
@Alpenwolf in the Open Range mission, the huey crates are 500lb's. It's essentially impossible to sling load them https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4404575&postcount=2634 Pls fix :)
-
@NELLUS see this post for why the crate weight cannot be lowered too much. It's pretty much at a sweet spot right now at 600ish lb https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4404575&postcount=2634

The AI will rarely push their planes to the lmits. Fighting against AI says very little about how the plane actually turns when pushed to the borders of it's flight envelope Good on you for surviving that long tho

Hi there There's a strange bug causing weird behavior of light crates I've recorded 2 videos, both from the same mission, with a 50% fuel huey, default rope length of 50 feet, and a crate, "UH-1H Cargo" set to 500 and 1000 pounds. the videos both recorded the game running at 2x speed, for the sake of brevity 500lb 1000lb As you can see, the 1000lb crate works fine, where as the 500lb one could probably use some exorcism :joystick: I have no idea what causes this, but it must be somehow related to weight of the crates A fix would be appriciated :D

UH-1H Sling Crate weight Hi there I'd like to bring your attention to an issue regarding the Huey crates in some of the missions on this server It's almost impossible If i remember correctly, the weight of the crates was reduced in order to give the hueys better range and speed, and put less strain on their engines, which is good! However, there is a bug that was overlooked in this change I'll be using the mission "Prince of Persia" as an example, as that is where I've encountered this issue The sling loading task for the hueys in that mission is to transport a sling loaded crate from the FARP to Al Dhafra AFB, in order to unlock Mirage 2000 planes. It has the huey fly some 40nm with a crate. The crates weigh 500lb, which shouldn't be a problem, however, the aforementioned bug affects only light crates Essentially, what happends to the crate, is it starts swinging out of control in a positive feedback loop, apparently caused by the low weight of the crate A little roll will cause the crate to go to one side, which in will cause it to swing back. Normally the swing back should not be faster, but somehow with a light crate, that crate will accelerate rapidly, reaching 90 degrees from the bottom in just a few sings Allow me to demonstrate I put together a quick mission with a huey at 50% fuel, default rope length of 50 feet, and a crate for it, and recorded how the crate behaves when it's 500lb and 1000lb Both videos were recorded with the games in 2x speed for the sake of brevity, and minimal stick corrections This video shows how the crate behaves when it's 500lb You can clearly see it swings way too violently than it should. It's worth noting it gets much worse once the helicopter passes 70-80kt IAS This comparison video shows the same mission, with the crate now at 1000lb The crate behaves in a much more predictable and controllable fashion Even when crossing 100kt IAS, under a helicopter maneuvering far more violently than the one from the 1st video, the crate stays where it should Again, do keep in mind the videos are both 2x speed. Actual stick deflections were minor adjustments in both videos I don't know what causes the behavior of the light crates, but it makes it near impossible to sling load, especially over large distances Increasing the crates to 1000lb weight will remove this problem, while still giving enough range to a huey at 50% fuel to comfortably make it to Al Dhafra (roughly 40nm) Please fix it, I wanna fly the Mirage :pilotfly:

[REPORTED]Broken damage model in 2.5.6.50726 ?
BonerCat replied to Raven (Elysian Angel)'s topic in General Bugs
Just dumped 6 AIM-9's into an F-5 and he lived -
I'd double check if that section was in the autopilot section. I don't think the Tomcat had any automatic trim outside of autopilot.
