Often i'll forget to move the WCS from standby to on  There could also be the radar elevation being wrong. I like to put the target at the top of the TID display in attack mode, and then adjust elevation as needed. Makes it rather easy, as the numbers on the left actually (somewhat) match target's position. Lastly, they could be notching you, which is a whole nother can of worms, but i reccomend looking into it

Did the carrier turn at all while aligning with ASH?
-
You can set him to be imactive in the jester menu -> crew contract (i think that's what it's called) -> set inactive He won't eject, but he also won't do anything either. Just remember to turn him back on after takeoff.

Yes, such a slider would be quite nice

On a bit more serious note, while jets will probably be ok with this bug in the game, it could be a real problem for helicopters, which fly low much more

New location and font for Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) box after 2.5.6

+1 on that one -
I've had that as well. Makes carrier landings rather difficult on lower end PC's

You sure you're in the right place bud? This is a Tomcat forum section...

It's a bug. ED and belsimtek modules don't suffer from it (except for the P-51 for some reason), but most (if not all) 3rd party modules have that as well

I highly reccomend this profile https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=235766 For me (personally) it improved my "jester handling" a lot Good luck!

Hey, i was wondering if there are any servers that regularly host night missions? I couldn't find any Thanks!

It's been 3 weeks now since the last Open Beta update (14th of January) I don't wanna complain, but at the same time I m curious as to why there was no update in all this time I'd really like to hear something about it. Maybe I missing something? Thanks

1st off, make sure all (yours + your wingman/men) your tacan units are running, and are set to A/A mode. 2nd, choose a channel for lead aircraft. Anything will do, as long as it's not the same as a tanker's (or some other aircraft) tacan. People usually do 1X, which is fine for small PVE, but if you're planning on flying on big MP servers, i reccomend choosing something else. Both friendlies outside your flight and hostiles can tune into and guide towards your tacan signal. 3rd, tell people you want to have tacan contact with to set their tacan to the channel you've selected + 63, so if you picked 1X, they'd choose 1+63=64 and carry the X for 64X You should now be able to see the ranges to eachother Not bearings tho. You'll have to play hot-cold to find eachother if you really get lost :pilotfly: Note. If multiple aircraft are tuned into same tacan channel (say, lead 1X, flight 64X) the lead will have a range to the strongest signal, which is usually the closest aircraft RedKite has a really good, high production video on this subject If what i told you doesnt work, my memory has failed me, and you should check out this vid

Makes sense Thanks!

That's honestly impressive. Here, have a bump

Except for F-18 and F-15 Cheek stations. They're upright there as well. Maybe a few degrees off. Regardless, it's the same missile. I don't think how it's mounted matters much, as long as it can be fired.

The best you can do is zoom on your TID Put it to ground stab, lower the TID range, and use the HCU offset to move the TID where you want it It won't help the radar tho. It'll still see the same thing As for why jester calls out 2 ships for a single ship, it could be possible that with a bit of INS drift, jester will take the bandits radar return and datalink return as 2 separate contacts, and call out a 2 ship. Just a hypothesis.

Yeah, you guys are right. It is on the left. My brain did a stiupid and confused them Again Thanks for the correction

It's on your left hand side, and it's aft of the panel you use to type in coords This image from the manual shows the CAP drum and input panel. Turn the knob (7) to the TGT DATA position, and buttons 6, 7 and 8 (right side center) will control the top half of the HAFU on the TID

IFF returns are categorized in 2 ways. "=" - Friendly "-" Hostile or unknown There are a number of ways to IFF. -1st one, is general IFF. Just press the IFF pushbutton to the right of the DDD (one of the 3 buttons in a row above radar modes), and hold it. The DDD will display every radar contact as their IFF return. -2nd one is hooked contact IFF. Hook up a contact (must be a radar return, not DL) on the TID with your HCU, and hold the IFF button. The return will be centered on your DDD. It's difficult to see hostile returns sometimes, as they get partially obscured by the cross in the center of the DDD. -3rd one is STT IFF. Much like with the hooked IFF, but you'll be locking STT instead of hooking with the HCU. Once you've got an STT lock, press and hold the IFF pushbutton. The return will be centered on the DDD, like with the hooking method TID target designation is entirely up to the RIO, and is independent from the IFF system. In the TGT DATA section on your CAP input drum, pushbuttons 6, 7 and 8 control designate friendly, unknown and hostile respectively. Just hook up a target with your HCU, and designate as desired with the CAP pushbuttons. Hope this helps

Unbind the "aircraft pitch up" and "down" as well as "aircraft bank left" and "right". By default they are on arrow keys. It could be that you accidentally press these, and they stick for some reason. See if it helps.

Quick question What do stabilization channels actually do in the tomcat? (When autopilot is not being used) Is it just dampening, like in the F-5, or is it a bit more advanced? I know it's not full FBW, but I don't know what exactly it does to the jet. Thanks

I used to struggle with a similar issue. If you have good frames after a while, then the GPU is doing it's job just fine. It's the hard drive that's the bottleneck here. Get an SSD, and your loading times will be significantly shorter But yeah, I'd also look for an upgrade with the GPU. 12GB Ram should be enough as long as you don't try to mess with large amounts of units.
