  1. And gamma settings and cockpit illumination https://forum.dcs.world/topic/311936-readability-and-realism-disappeared/?do=findComment&comment=5082585
  2. I started the same Instant Action - the AH-64D Live Fire Range on the Caucasus map but did not get the graphic impact your seeing. Probably worth uploading a Track file ( .trk ) so DCS can see what your seeing in mission and investigate further. (C:\Users\<your_user_name>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Tracks)
  3. No me either. My original post .... Much slower to start AH-64D Instant Action, Mission or Training. No mods. No changes to my PC other than 2.8 update. It is slow every time I start it. dcs_log and autoupdate_log.zip
  4. I have only tried Apache. by the way, I found this after searching for information about deleting content fxo and metashaders folders so does DCS automatically delete content of fxo and metashaders folders after updating DCS now.....Or is "shaders are removed when the update is done" something else....
  5. I did not delete the content of those folders. Just did the update. Sorry I did not know DCS says deleting these is recommended. I have never done it before.... guess I should have. In anycase, given I didn't, I guess I did not contribute to the slower load times. And it is slower every time I load too (not just the first time)
  6. Yes lots of people had that nostalgia In many things sometimes its the building process that is the most rewarding.... true of this too I guess.
  7. Much slower to start AH-64D Instant Action, Mission or Training. No mods. No changes to my PC other than 2.8 update. Anything I should be doing ... empty cache or something?
  8. I tried instant action, mission and training. Each of them are OK for me. What mission are you starting?
  9. Oh. my mistake. I didn't see that in the change log. Are the other differences deliberate too?
  10. After all your work too..... why do you think that?
  11. No. Turning down gamma is not a solution. Just makes everything darker. Neither is turning off cockpit illumination....it might make it easier to see the skhval but you don't have any cockpit illumination. maybe the solution is only fly night missions (sarcasm)
  12. So there will be a follow up hotfix in a few days ? these problems wont be moved into Stable Release next update cycle ?
  13. Well that sure is disappointing. DCS 2.8.0.32235.1 Open Beta seems to have failed to fix any of the problems that 2.8 created in the Ka-50. The community has detailed the problems in the forum and even videos demonstrate the problems. It doesn't seem DCS has held up its side of the bargain here. I do hope these don't next become transferred to DCS stable.
  14. Well its been a good week eh? ViacomPro working again (that the program is now GPL license and the subsequent efforts of that community group is great. I hope this means Hollywood is ok too) plus the good news from your surgeon.... pleased for you mate.
  15. Yes it really is excellent
  16. I appreciate what you saying. In the other sim I used to fly with a friend and it was the best time... having a wingman, being able to talk to each other, to enjoy the experience "together" (even though we live about 1000km apart) is really excellent. I can see this is true of the Apache too when I watch folk on Youtube videos. But must say, as somebody who always flys alone, I really appreciate ED's efforts with the AI and that the option to use it exists. I expect in years to come the AI will just get better and better. (I am old enough to remember when video games was playing space invaders for 20c a game at the pub...just imagine what the AI will be like in 10 or 20 years time). Keep it up ED !
  17. In addition to "Power Lever (left) - IDLE" and "Power Lever (left) - OFF" and "Power Lever (right) - IDLE" and "Power Lever (right) - OFF" there are toggle actions available: Power Lever (left) - OFF (hold)<>IDLE Power Lever (right) - OFF (hold)<>IDLE I normally use the separate IDLE and OFF buttons for each engine on my CM3 Throttle. To test it, I tried using the the "Power Lever (left) - OFF (hold)<>IDLE" instead. The power lever did move from idle back to the off position as it should but soon as I released the button the power lever moved back to the idle position again. ie: the toggle did not 'stick' I do not think my configured throttle position is conflicting (I tested with the Virpil Tester app so I could see the state of each input). So, I would be very interested to see what you get with your PS3 controller using the toggles Power Lever (left) - OFF (hold)<>IDLE and Power Lever (right) - OFF (hold)<>IDLE.......If you get the same outcome (ie the toggle doesnt 'stick' - but reverts to IDLE position when not pressed, then I reckon that is a bug we should report). Maybe post back here and let us know?
  18. Direct your trolling venom elsewhere. No "bitching" messages came from me.
  19. 13 aircraft in early access. Some in early access since 2017. 29 aircraft 'released'. More than 30% of the aircraft product range is in early access. So yes. Oh good. That soon! Yay. Don't know what I was thinking. I should have waited till 2033 to purchase the Apache.
  20. The good news is that a small correction to the SRS setup on the server will resolve this problem says developer Ciribob. Its described on the SRS discord now.
  21. Short of any response from others on this forum, I expect logging a support ticket including the logs etc as described here would be the go. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/support_ticket/
  22. How do you know that there is only 2 reports? btw.... Manufacturer of high-end cables, CableMod, has warned users that any odd bends or turns in the cable could put extra pressure on the connector and maybe even increase the risk of overheating. The company warns against vertical bends and horizontal bends, which essentially means users should aim to keep cables perfectly aligned and straight or risk malfunction. Anyone who's ever built a PC will understand that this isn't always possible. https://www.pcgamer.com/dont-bend-600w-rtx-4090-power-cable-to-reduce-risk-of-overheating-says-cablemod/ This redesign might help https://www.xda-developers.com/cablemod-comes-to-the-rescue-with-just-what-every-rtx-4090-owner-will-want/
  23. In relation to the 4090 maybe consider this:
  24. Don't see how to meet the manufacturers installation requirements while having the 4090 mounted in a PC case...
