  2. I've talked to Whartsell and will make some small changes to the instructions. Also ,one issue with the Ps2 connector... The male side where the stick connects, it is possible to break off the black spacer inside the stick connector if not careful. That part might be a little large for the cable, but it will not affect the function of the stick. I did not realize this earlier because mine was broke off already from earlier projects. If this is an issue, you might want to make a cable yourself! Everything else should be good and Whartsell will report soon with his impressions of the mod. Lastly, update to the first post... The new kits will contain all screws and cable for $110. The buyer will need the clevis(4), shaft, and springs.
  3. I will try and get a video up later as well... Flying the Uh-1 and A-10
  4. My mod is in the for sale section... I'm working on the site, just not enough time in the Day!
  5. Awesome for sure, you can add mods to even make it better!
  6. The whole fun is having real head movements. Also, much more stable than trackerIR while keeping eyes on target.
  7. No, it doesn't lean... the springs keep it right in the center. I made the center plastic mount pretty strong, but I guess anything can break. I have had mine for a few weeks and no issues yet. I'm not sure on spring stretch in the long term, but I'm sure the will be fine. They are pretty heavy duty. Worst case is you can buy more for $12 bucks down the road, but I highly doubt it will be an issue. I'll try and put a video flying the Huey, that will show how precise you can be compared to the normal Warthog.
  8. If the keyboard is at your waist while sitting, you can see it.
  9. For Euro customers, here is a parts source like Mcmaster Carr in the states... http://www.mscdirect.co.uk/cgi/insrhm?ukepcode=HER40 This will help sourcing parts, but we need to convert inches to MM parts. I will try and get this done quickly. If someone would like to source out all the parts in the UK/EUR with part numbers, where to order, and cost - I will send you a free Warthog mount. Also, I will make the same offer for our upcoming UH-1 Collective. Email if interested: Flim@Vrpit.com
  10. We are making some progress with the proto collective! A lot of parts to print, but it is looking mighty nice and professional. I will probably do an initial run to cover some cost, we still plan on DIY kits like the Warthog stick mod. If interested, you might want to let me know for planning..
  11. Here is another great Video... Some install tips!
  12. looks good Frank!
  13. BTW, I have 2 sets of 3d printed parts ready to go now. Send me an email to: Flim@vrpit.com I will mail the 3d parts asap and also email the Plans/BOM which will guide on what you need to order to complete the mod.
  14. No doubt a 4k display will be the ultimate goal, but initially that will not happen. I'm guessing Oculus will come up with away to get rid of screen door, up the resolution much as possible while using a mid range system, and add positional tracking. Right now you can use the Razor hydra for positional tracking, but strapping a controller to your back will not work forever. If ED were to integrate the rift to the A-10a module with stero 3d, head tracking/hydra, and adjust the cockpit FOV/pilot positioning ( where it looks correct from the seat instead of the 2d viewpoint...), it would be totally usable right now. You could lean forward to view detailed items while leaning back would give a life like experience. As resolution increases then you will see more and more detail without having to lean forward. As it stand now, it will work, but not without ED specifically jumping into the code and making it happen. I doubt that Vorpx or any other driver will work to a standard we need... it will have to come from ED specifically geared towards the rift, and when that happens people will be blown away.
  15. Hey , This mod is way better then having no spring like most extensions... I'm picky myself on the feel which needs to be semi realistic. This mod allows you to use a longer more realistic shaft length compared to other options. 1. Yes, you need to drill new holes through the base plate, some might not want to if you plan to re-sale, but it was our only option that was simple. 2. I want to find an offset option, just need find a shop that can fab the shafts. ( If anyone has connections, let me know.) I can get them from flight link at 80 bucks, but seems pricey. 3. Yes, you need the 3d printed parts. You can get them from me or I will offer them on a 3d printed service site such as shapeways, but they are not cheap. They charge about $140 for the parts. 4. You will need to buy the bolts, cable, and shaft. It will cost between $30-40 for what you need. In our plans, we tell you exactly how to mod the ps2 cable... really simple and takes 30 seconds. Hope this helps There are a few mods going out and I have asked them to report back on their opinion.
  16. Here is a quick video showing the spring in the stick... not the best production, but...
  17. I've gone back and forth as well... but track IR does suck compared to 1:1 tracking, and hurts my neck if I use it to long. The 5 projector setup I had is nice and great immersion, but you still know that you are on the ground in a simulator... Last night playing with the heli demo, I actually felt like I was in the seat hovering above tree's. It was the most in the game experience I have had yet in simulation. You can check out my seat setup in other threads, but my keyboard sets low right on the side of the seat and I can see it no problem looking down through the rift. Also, I can see all of my throttle switches etc...
  18. Hey all, John and I are hard at work on the UH-1 seat and collective. The seat will be plans that you can cut or have cnc'd locally and also come with a build guide. Also, we will have seat cushions available for all seats if you don't want to make or source your own. The collective will be a mixture of 3d printed and off the shelf parts. We will sell the plans plus ship out the 3d printed parts, but it will be up to the buyer to actually build the unit. Our goal is to make it as easy and cost effective as possible. $259 plus shipping
  19. Just played the rift helicopter demo...hooked up my hydra and flew around for an hour in some crappy demo I would have never tried without the rift. The cockpit was perfect 3d and had the correct zoom. Also, the hydra allows you to lean outside the cockpit while hovering, so cool ! This really shows how Huey flying will be in the near future. I wish Ed could give a little love to the rift! Lol
  20. We are pleased to offer plans/parts to extend your thrustmaster Warthog into a full fledged center stick. This mod offers a nice feel and some spring to counter the grip weight. The movement or throw of the stick can be adjusted by screwing the bottom mount up or down. Need help flying the Huey?... this mod makes a big difference! The printed parts can be ordered of shapeways for now until I can make parts again! http://www.shapeways.com/shops/vrpits
  21. Or, do a touchscreen pit with levers.. meaning gear lever etc.. With 3 touchscreens you can replicate different cockpits pretty easily without spending tons of time building then losing interest.
  22. Let us know how it goes. I wondering about the range of hand motion...
  23. Ya, good luck! These companies won't even blink an eye to this community.
  24. Here is the A-10 full pit we will have ready shortly... The Aces 2 seat plans we offer is the seat that is used below as well as for the standalone setup. The PDF plans will consist of 1:1 stencils of the front and side consoles. More info will follow! Huey front and side console plans to follow !
  25. Next week we should have the Huey seat plans available, but the collective could be little longer. I still need to build a prototype first.
