I've found online Apache pilots training and evaluation sheet with Take Off descriptions: a. VMC takeoff from the ground. Select reference points to maintain ground track. With the cyclic in the neutral position, increase the collective until the aircraft becomes "light on the wheels." Maintain heading with the pedals. Continue increasing the collective to obtain approximately 10 percent above hover torque. As the aircraft leaves the ground, apply forward cyclic as required to accelerate through ETL to obtain the desired climb attitude. Maintain ground track and keep the aircraft aligned with takeoff direction below 50 feet; then place the aircraft in trim above 50 feet AGL. When above minimum single-engine airspeed, position the collective to establish the desired rate of climb. b. Normal VMC takeoff from a hover. Select reference points to maintain ground track. Apply forward cyclic to accelerate the aircraft while applying approximately 10 percent torque above hover power with the collective. Perform the rest of the maneuver as for a takeoff from the ground. They describe what you basically see in Apache TO videos, but the names are pretty confusing. TO "from ground" is supposed to be with "neutral cyclic" which in practice begins a hover And "TO from a hover" is done with "forward cyclic", which should start a little roll on the ground before lift. So is there an Army Logic behind it or the names are mixed?

So what is the procedure now during Cold Start? All the SQL switches up? I found it that the radio is silent with master volume to 50% and switches downduring the training mission, but when I want to do Cold Start anywhere else, I get static noise - and mowing the switches up helps...

A-10C from "Distributors" source - no upgrade option?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in Payment and Activation
The October 2020 discount is last year's snow discussion. I'm talking about Lunar Sale 2022 on Steam when everybody could upgrade A-10C for like 9$. I pointed that out to ED but instead of the same kind of discount on ED shop as a gesture of good will and "thank you", I was sent away to pay the full price for the update. It is just not very customer friendly attititude, not mentioning worse things -
A-10C from "Distributors" source - no upgrade option?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in Payment and Activation
No assumption is needed It's simple. A-10C upgrade on Steam was 50% off (as a mistake no one noticed or cared about). I asked (via support) if I can have the same price in ED Shop, because... why not - I would buy it cheap if I chose giving my money to Valve back then. But I was just told: "thank you for pointing out our mistake, go away and pay full price in ED Shop". You don't normally do that if you run a business to your customer, especially if it is just 10$ to create a "premium customer care" feeling, but... what can you do... Stick to Steam next time I guess. -
A-10C from "Distributors" source - no upgrade option?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in Payment and Activation
The problem is that the upgrade was on sale on Steam for like 9$ and with full price on ED Shop. Support says that it is a Steam price bug, but it was very active for a very long time and it would be until sales ends, so whoever was loyal to Valve, got a very good offer. Not so much though if you're loyal to ED... -
last Grim Reapers video explains it.

F-14 Training Day

Didn’t think about that. The button is right but I might be pressing for too short, will check that.

While In VR mode, I cannot align the HMD. I try to keep my head steady but the big cross alignment always ends with “align failed” as soon as I press uncage. It is fine with mouse, when I just move the cross, but impossible in VR. Is it a bug or my head is just too wobbly?
-
The tutorial for HMD alignment says, that with fine alignment of the upper cross you press TDC Depress, then move the lower cross. However, to progress to the lower cross and DROLL axis I need to press Cage/Uncage again. Is TDC Depress a "silent feature" and need to be pressed before Cage/Uncage or doesn't work at the moment or cage/uncage is the only button to use?

Should you be able to boresight a maverick on anything?
dmatt76 replied to uri's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I can boresight IR Maverick on whatever point, doesn’t need to be valid target. You dont get a full Lock, but the boresight button appears anyway. -
Massive whining about new features and updates became something common in DCS community. People expect them like gifts for Christmas because they’re free and they’re new - what’s not to like? and the reason for that is because many people can’t find anything else to focus on when they play DCS. Just a few have fun playing online, another few buy campaigns but those don’t last long. If you can’t find your own toys in DCS sandbox, you only have some missions from User Files with different levels of quality. Games like that, with endless gameplay, rely on fresh content every 2 weeks, month or so, on things to focus on. That’s just today’s reality. Perhaps it could be fixed in some way by giving the community fresh missions to fly, created by dedicated team, with a certain level of quality, voice-overs, music clips. We would get more patches but not with new features, but with content to actually use the features we got last time, a reason to play, to have fun with DCS. Cause now I’m sure some people have already forgot about Mavs, Harms, AGradar and they’re just waiting for another official YT Video. Im sure it would be possible to find such a good creators within our community and not giving ED another task. Only the ME should be updated with some new objects, new skins, a few more voice overs to make the mission more fresh and diverse. ED and 3rd party can push as many modules as possible but it will never be enough, there will always be shouting for more, for new. But new module takes a few years to make, a good mission takes a few days to make. I am pretty much sure they would keep many people occupied from ranting about delayed updates. it would be enough to start with “weekly featured” user files mission?

TGP Too dark or Bright, Low detail at night in Syria
dmatt76 replied to CypherBlue's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
The TGP colours have changed a lot since the first release. You can't use contrast to get the crosshair be visible anymore. it changed colour from almost white to grey to hide in the background completely and the TV camera makes the terrain details much more bland than it used to. -
How to keep F10 radio transmission active all the time?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in Mission Editor

How to keep F10 radio transmission active all the time?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in Mission Editor
It doesnt work in my case. It plays the sound file, interrupts it after 1 second and plays it again and interrupts again after 1 second. I can hear only "eeek" "eeek" -
How to keep F10 radio transmission active all the time?
dmatt76 replied to dmatt76's topic in Mission Editor
"Sound to" is completely different than "Radio transmission". -
I can set a new radio item and a radio transmission after chosing the new option from the menu. However, the radio item stays for the rest of the mission, but the sound file linked to that radio transmission is played only once, with the first use. How to make the sound file played every time I chose this F10 radio item? I tried everything...

[INVESTIGATING]Not possible to slew the AGM-65
dmatt76 replied to esequiel's topic in Bugs and Problems
Noticed that too. Mav screen is stuck with some garbage from previous hand-off and can’t be FOV or slewed So far You can fix it by making mav screen SOI and reset everything with DMS Down. Then you can go again to TGP and mav is good to go, folllows the tgp again
