  1. When no trackfile is under the cursor, AACQ STTs the highest priority track (usually the L&S). This works fine and dandy every time. However, when a trackfile IS under the cursor, AACQ should always acquire that trackfile regardless of L&S designation or rank. Currently though, this logic is highly inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes neither the L&S nor track under the cursor is acquired into STT. Also, sometimes the L&S star symbol in the middle of the HAFU disappears when going into STT via AACQ. Thanks AACQ logic.miz.trk
  2. Definitely shouldn't go into ACM from NAV mode. It should assign TDC to the HUD as it does now. In A/A, it should enter ACM which it also does. On the SA thing, yep, not yet implemented unfortunately. There is more, too - SCS right should bring up your Attack format (A/G in NAV or A/G, A/A in A/A), SCS left should bring up STORES, then AZ/EL, and then I think there's some logic to bringing up the FLIR format after AZ/EL in certain cases. ED said they'll be adding more HOTAS functionality, but who knows when. I wish they'd treat it as a general feature and not one specific to a given system necessarily. It's pretty essential to the overall aircraft operation honestly.
  3. Tying into this report of SA/Attack format inconsistency -- no DT2 diamond is displayed on the SA.
  4. This is a function independent of the AMRAAM specifically, but A/A master mode entirely. Press Sensor Control Switch forward to enter Air Combat Maneuvering mode (ACM)- this will also put you in Boresight / Helmet Acquisition. Once in ACM you can use the Sensor Control Switch to enter a few other search patterns. Acquisition into STT is automatic also, once a target is seen - no need for TDC depress. 5. [preface: applies for JSOW/SLAM as well] JDAMs can be released regardless of their alignment status, theoretically when super inaccurate. That's fine and dandy - however, the A/G Ready indications for this are incorrect. Until the JDAM timer is up (reaches 7:30), the JDAM indication on the HUD remains crossed out and no 'RDY' is present on the STORES / JDAM DSPLY format. Since it is releasable regardless, it should indicate 'RDY' and be uncrossed out on the HUD. As much as it'd be unwise to release it then, since it IS allowed by the aircraft, the avionics should indicate it appropriately (assuming all other interlocks are met e.g. master arm ARM, master mode set to A/G). To note, when the alignment isn't complete, the TOT indication on the HUD should say TXA DEGD instead. Track attached. JDAM AG Ready.miz.trk
  6. The MAV slaves neither to waypoints nor the TGP, keep in mind. It slaves to the A/G TGT designation (diamond). It doesn't matter what created the TGT. (Could be a waypoint via WPDSG, via FLIR, or by A/G Radar, etc.) What changed in the new patch is the FLIR Stabilized Pointing Mode now works correctly, where the TGT constantly updates to where the FLIR is pointed without depressing the TDC again.

  8. No, you don't need to make a DT2. DT2 is just a user interface feature to make it easy to swap L&S between two targets, you don't need to use it. Making a trackfile no longer L&S also should not affect the datalink guidance itself.
  9. Went ahead and corrected the UP to FWD. Thanks. Also personally, I don't think the official DCS manual is very good at all honestly. If this typo bugs you then you're in for a wild ride on that manual lol. That said the Hoggit Wiki is unofficial and so doesn't belong in the bugs forum.
  10. Eventually there will be HUD target designation which you can then use the JDAM TOO mode with, so yes.
  11. Not true, the report rate of LTWS can be equal to TWS. You should be able to support datalink to an AIM-120 with RWS (LTWS). However I do believe firing from RWS should trigger an automatic switch to TWS so you can keep track of the L&S better with AUTO scan centering. However nothing even then would stop you from switching back to RWS.
  12. What Santi said. But the technical answer is basically that RWS and TWS aren't truly all that different. TWS just displays HAFUs for almost everything and has better scan options for keeping track of a target. However both process tracks the same and so AMRAAM guidance is basically the same in either. Nothing super magical happens when the radar switches to TWS mode from RWS.
  13. I reported this, yep. Got broke with TWS.
  14. I was the one, although I never had proof like this. Thanks very much. Hopefully this is good enough for ED.
  15. When in VISUAL mode for the AIM-120, the SHOOT cue for the L&S is still displayed. VISUAL SHOOT CUE.miz.trk
  16. It's a very very in depth system with tons of modes. I hear it isn't used IRL these days as much but I'd still say it's pretty cool. The HUD symbology will display a diamond just like if you designate with the FLIR. On that same idea, it will work with AG weapons exactly how the FLIR does. There is no special integration.
  17. I'd note it was working perfectly when TWS came out. It must've been broke just this last patch.
  18. Yup, I found the same thing you did. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=244630 It was reported months ago. So, fingers crossed one of these patches...
  19. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=259043 - This bug was reported fix but only partially. It's fine if you just go to BST. However once you go to WACQ or VACQ the issue reappears: the HITS option is present and it says "RTS RWS".
  20. Good report. The real issue here is the DT2 diamond isn't shown at all on the SA like it should.
  21. Yeah it should be 3,000ft. The pretty obvious idea here is that, at that range, you can clearly see the enemy target physically with the naked eye. When farther away the TD box would actually help.
  22. The expected behavior is GACQ should not be exit-able. TWS/RWS should not be usable with the Gun selected. I already reported this though, still not fixed sadly.
  23. Good post. Another F/A-18 sim I've played specifically details this behavior as well, as you describe it with the 3,000ft rule.

  25. Bump in case this was missed
