I think they are referring to the new graphics-stuff available in Windows Vista. It is the part responsible for the "see-through" effects on windows etc

I thought the manual stated that we should do this in exactly the way I described, or did I misread? During Flight Director: "To set a new airspeed and altitude, it is necessary to press and hold the trim button and change the speed and altitude. Then release the trim button and the current values of the airspeed and altitude are set as desired." Route without task: "For changing flight parameters it is necessary to: 1. Press and hold the Trimmer on the cyclic stick. 2. Set new flight input (bearing, pitch and speed). 3. Release the Trimmer button. "
-
Try pressing and holding(!) trim while you change your flight parameters (i.e. changing flight direction or any other thing than just flying a straight level path). First after you've reached your new flight attitude, altitude and heading should you release trim. Edit: I thought I might just add to this that I've never (yeah that's right, never) understood how you guys fly without AP channels on. The bird becomes totally unstable and you need to keep fighting with the stick just to keep her up - horrible. With the three APs on she's as smooth as a feather and does exactly what I tell her to.

Su-27, with the 3GO-mod mentioned in the LockOn forums

Interesting read!

I've seen a lot of swedish retailers that's put it in their catalogue, but most of them have it listed as "coming in", often within 4 days or so. I must say I'm impressed by the amazingly low price as well! (It's available from 299 SEK, this equates to about 27.5 EUR or 36.5 USD, which needless to say is a lot cheaper than I bought it for four months ago ;)) Speaking of Lock On I've found it lying around at the swedish site ginza.se for as low as 15 SEK (that's about 1.8 USD or 2.23 CAD or 1.4 EUR)

It's very easy. Go into Options -> Difficulties. Here uncheck "Easy Flight" and "Easy Avionics" and make sure to check "Use these options for any mission". That should do it. When you feel you are proficient in flying the machine, make sure to uncheck all options that make flying easier, if that's what you want =) Have a great day

Nice refuel but horrible approach to the carrier ;)

Actually, I think it is Left Alt + C that changes between the zooming/mouselook and buttonpressing/buttonscrolling modes. So Python1 - Try pressing LAlt + C until you get that small yellow cursor/cross. Then you will be able to scroll knobs by scrolling your mousewheel I bet you just experienced the (in)famous mouselook bug; When you enter into the helicopter after loading a mission you can both look around and press buttons at the same time (originally not intended to be done simultaneously) Pressing LAlt+C changes between looking and clicking modes. To reproduce the bug I think it is possible to press esc two times in a row (i.e. going to the pause menu and back to the game again).

Just wanted to tell anyone interested that I have joined that ranks of people that managed to get this mod working on Lock On 1.02 =D Very happy now ;) The reason it didn't work last time was because I used notepad to edit the files and did no backups -whistles- .. After reinstall everything works perfectly after a manual install. GREAT mod guys! You deserve a lot of credit

Actually I felt a bit of that as well when I started flying Black Shark. But installed the latest drivers (never bothered with the drivers before) and the small utility and changed the sensitivity down a couple of notches and now it's IMO very nice.
-
I just thought I might add that I also use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro (long name for something that isn't really "extreme" ;)) It works just perfectly for Black Shark IMO. I've put together a small config for it as well, available somewhere on this forum after a quick search =) Before anyone asks: I've used it very successfully for a whole lot of games, including but not limited to: Freespace Lock On DCS Black Shark (obviously =p) IL-2 Sturmovik series Flight Simulator series and a whole lot of other flightsim games I remember when buying it many many years ago that it had recieved a lot of critique to the quality of build, but I've used it for several years and it has always worked perfectly.

ive searched forum but cant find simple help
Boulund replied to harock's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It's in the manual/key command list. You should definitely have a look there, but since we're here now anyway I can tell you it's "Left ctrl + pause/break". -
Great vid! Really enjoyed the thorough ending credits with the bloopers!

Yes there is, go to the input settings and select your joystick, select AXIS in one of the drop-down lists there. Then click on rudder and a windows pops up telling you to move your rudder. Now move it from one end to the other and voila! Sorry for my bad instruction but can't really remember what the different menus say and all, it isn't really that hard anyway, I'd be glad to help you better if you don't get it working

Project New Su-27 by 3GO WorkGroup
Boulund replied to SkieRider's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
but that only works with flaming cliffs (or so I understood) -
Fancy HMS-usage. wonderful vid! I really enjoyed watching it

I'm singing of joy as reaction to your post. Thanks for the straight answer, I'll check it out this very moment! Tried it out now, but it didn't seem to work. ... Guess I'll reinstall Lock On now. =)
-
This is probably a real noob question and surely answered all over the place (I just can't seem to find any mention of it though) Is it possible to use this amazing(!) model with just Lock On 1.02 (i.e. without Flaming Cliffs)?
-
I'm also really sorry but I don't really understand the meaning of this post either. If you've read about people not knowing these things in other threads, why not post it there so the thread starter (or others in the thread for that matter) could learn from it there - where it connects to what is being said. Also I'm hurting from the horrible paragraphing, why not put some whitespace in the text to make it easier to follow or read - maybe this could even be improved a lot with a small paragraph at the top explaining why this thread was started? Just my humble opinions and constructive criticism =) Hope you don't take it the wrong way

Sorry for giving the wrong key combination, fixed it in my post. The reason for the crosshair first disappearing and the reappearing is that the first time you press LAlt-c you go into mouselook-mode, and the second time you go back to (what should have been there from the start) the "mouse-interaction-mode" or what to call it. Great to hear it fixed your problem
-
It is probably because your mouse-look is active and is conflicting with your TrackIR Simple solution, press LAlt-c to release mouselook (and get that little yellow crosshair showing). Please note that there is a known bug that causes the mouselook to be active together with the little yellow crosshair when starting a mission (or returning from the esc-menu).

In Sweden you can buy Lock On for only 15 SEK, that's about $1.67 USD. Surely it must be possible to get it so cheap where you live as well? I'm in line with all the others, buy the game! Don't download the demo. But if you really wan't to download it, why not try from somewhere else? http://www.gamershell.com/download_3533.shtml

Would you pay for another Addon to Lock On ?
Boulund replied to 104th_Crunch's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I would hope that ED would spend all their time (and money) towards making DCS-series THE sim anyone would ever want to play. There are infinite possibilities in having a multi-bird game like that with that attention to detail we've seen in black shark, with improved multiplayer capabilities. I wouldn't want it any other way. But seeing how Lock On crashes and burns hard brings small tears in my eyes ;) Like someone said before me; maybe letting Lock On move on into the hands of eager modders is one way to let it die an honorable death. =) -
The exact same thing happened to me! Did a fresh install and was still there. Then suddenly after starting a game the clouds were back to normal. I haven't got a clue as to why it happened, but maybe it was different driver versions? I'm on XP Pro SP3 with a 8800 GTS 640MB (G80 core) nVidia driver version: 181.22 edit: thought I might include that I'm using Lock On version 1.02
