I don't see why it shouldn't work. Go ahead and try it out. As long as you don't map the same function to both sticks there shouldn't be any trouble at all. Please do tell us of your experiences when you've tried it!

I've also got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick and I might have experienced a little of what you're saying. Downloaded the latest driver software and from within that changed the sensitivity to 10-20% on all axes. After that i added some curvature to the axes in Black Sharks configuration. After these very small fixes (cracking open and cleaning pots, shouldn't that be last resort?) I've gotten very smooth operation out of my extreme 3d pro

I currently use a modest FreeTrack setup with three leds built onto a regular cap and a cheap webcam. Works very well for be, but as far as I've read it seems TrackIR is definitely superior in every aspect. But hey, I play BS for fun, and building "your own" headtracking unit sure was fun =)

Joystick question before I get the game
Boulund replied to Vesperatus's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I've got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and it works superbly. Nothing to complain about, IF you later realize you really really want to go HOTAS that option isn't rendered impossible you know ;) If you search the forums you should be able to find my key setup for the extreme 3d pro if you are interested -
DCS works perfectly with a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I use it as well and if you do a search for it on the forums I think you will find another thread with someone asking the same thing, in which I posted my config for this joystick.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro profile Hey again Finally got the time to re-setup my config and this time I saved it :smilewink: Attached my config for my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Just as a notice I've used button 11 as a modifier key to get more out of the few buttons available on this joystick =) I have no explanation chart that explains what keys are used for what, but take a look in the settings and you'll probably be fine. I don't suppose anyone else in the world would like my nimble setup anyhow :P Hope this gets your throttle to work as collective as it should. LogitechExtreme3DPro.zip

Hi I've got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I've had no problems what so ever with my slider. It was automagically configured from start and works like a charm =) I just installed the latest drivers a couple of minutes ago and to my dismay lost all my previous settings. Naturally, when I get the time to reconfigure everything again I will share my config with you ;)

I'd say that computer is one step up from mine, (Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.5GHz, 2 GB DDR2-1066, GeForce 8800GTS 640MB overclocked), and I'm getting around 60 FPS with everything but water and viewdistance set to maximum at 1680x1050 resolution. Hope this helps out =) edit: just thought I might guide you to this thread and invite you to use the search function to find more of the many similar threads discussing performance http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36500

Cool, I had no idea teamspeak could do that to =). A bit sad it's not in natively though. In-game communication has potential to be really nice. For it to function really well I'd like to see a good user interface and tools to divide people into groups with hierarchy based voice-comm in between groups (team leader can talk to group leaders etc) and integrating it within the game brings added realism settings with signal blocking by terrain etc (would love this feature even though I reckon a lot of people would turn it off or go to teamspeak etc instead just to be able to talk all the time) Edit: Regarding ingame voice with "simulation-features" one has to remember that all communication in multiplayer games are not of the simulation-kind, there are commonly problems with connections and other administrative tasks that need to be discussed as well. Somehow this must be possible anyway...

I would also like for people to use Mumble more. Personally I like it better than TeamSpeak or Ventrilo, but just as zokier, my friends are reluctant to change as well. One great thing I like about mumble that sets them over the competition (for me) is that you can overlay a small text-thingy on your screen showing who's talking (when there's a lot of people on the server you LOVE that feature). Furthermore I can't belive why people don't talk in online games? Most games (read: all games imo!) benefit drastically from voice-communication. From small comments on getting shot down or helping friends out with vital intel is a blast. Just my two cents about voice-communication in games =)

I'm from Sweden with a swedish issued VISA. My card is most definitely a "debit card" but when I entered this information into the protx-system it just wouldn't go. Changed it to a "credit card" (even though it surely is not; have my credit-stuff deactivated) and it worked like a charm =) Hope this helps

Great mission! Was a lot of fun! Definitely going to play this many many times ;) There was some really funny texts and comments. Oh, and did you do the voice acting on your own?

Something that I as a swede would love to see is JAS 39 Gripen NG. Along with some proper small roads with "flygrakor" (road-side emergency airbase) on them to give the perfect JAS-feeling ;)

Printable DVD-cover for Black Shark (download version)
Boulund replied to Boulund's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
That's very strange? I printed mine out and it fits perfectly into a standard DVD-cover. Tried measuring it to see if it's really the correct size? (272 x 184 mm) Edit: I took three quick images of my cover when its printed. Sorry about the gruesomely bad image quality guys ;) I don't think I'll be producing a cover for the CD/DVD, sorry. -
Maybe if you have your Altitude Hold autopilot engaged it will go nuts if you try to descend for landing. Try turning Alt Hld off too see if that helps it.

Yes you can, put your mouse in mouse-look mode (ctrl+c), activate helmet mounted sight (HMS, press H i think), then hold O (uncage/designate shkval)

Tonight means 2008-01-09, friday between 1900-2300 ;) I'm good for game tonight at anytime between 1900-2300 if anyone else is up for it. I'll probably lurk around the forums unless something unexpected happens.

I could try to just lower my processor clock back to 3.2 GHz to see what kind of performance I might get. Be right back Update: Well then. Since I updated my graphics card driver just recently these results might not be directly comparable to the ones I posted above. Low clock, high settings: C2D @ 3.2 Ghz (same as my earlier lower settings) GeForce @ 660/1528/1005 Mhz (same as high setting previously) BS with texture, scenes and view distance at high as well as heat blur on, 4xFSAA and 16xAF. This gave an overall FPS in BS of: ~44 in cockpit and about 60-70 FPS outside view. Hope this was the info you where looking for miguez ;)

Swede here as well! I'd love some maneuvering together with some chaps from the same timezone and cultural habits =) Usually pretty busy but I'm open for some gaming on evenings and maybe some during day-time next week. Just let me know ;)

I think you can do it both via windows, but I'm not really at home with vista. You can probably find it somewhere from the control panel I guess. The other way might be through your catalyst control center. Sorry, probably was not much help here =/

Have you tried holding O down and turning/twisting your head? This way the shkval moves with the HMS. :)

There is already a discussion thread about this created not long ago. The search function is your friend ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34401

Hi everyone I made myself a DVD-cover since I didn't find any others around that I liked. All art is probably copyrighted and if someone wants to make a claim I'd be happy to remove the cover from here. It's standard DVD-cover size (272 x 184 mm) and should print on any regular printer just fine. There is a PSD-version of the file available if someone is interested in to continue work on the cover, just PM me and I'll gladly share it with you. I had no idea what to write on the back of the cover so I just egregiously stole some text right off http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com front page and the system requirements was found in some thread here in the forums. Hope someone likes it and please do tell me if it should be removed due to copyright or the likes. Thank you
