  1. Consolidating DCS World means I can now get all my aircraft onto a SSD hopefully!
  2. Yeah imagine some bald guy sitting on a bus reading that book. How many strange looks would he get? Edit: I think there's a forum for reality based stuff...
  3. I think that anything starting with the word 'dynamic' should be broken off and put into a new module called "DCS: Dynamic Server Monster!!". Obviously it would include the long awaited dedicated server. It could manage dynamic campaigns with weather systems, resources and units that are carried over between each mission. If the weather gets too bad some air fields may be closed and the poor combined arms controller (once that is released) has only their ground units and artillery for support until the weather clears. DCS: Dynamic Server Monster could run on multiplayer servers for days on end providing endless entertainment for anyone with DCS: World installed. ED would then sell so many licenses of the air frames and maps that they could hire Gabe Newell to be their tea lady. But, they wouldn't because they also want to play Half Life 2: Episode 3.
  4. That sure would be a fun 2 seater experience.
  5. I find the A-10C's targeting pod capability a bit better at identifying threats whilst orbiting well back better than the Black Shark's Shkval's ability to see at low altitude (so many threats behind those damn trees!)
  6. If I sit down and dream for a moment I imagine this: DCS offering the following aircraft in some years to come: US: A-10C, F-18C, F-16C, F-15E, AH-64D, T-38C F-4 Phantom RU: SU-25T, SU-33, Mig-29, Ka-50 Mig-21 Classics: P-51D, Me-109, Fw-190, Spitfire, Hurricane Maps: Georgia, Nevada, English Channel, Korea, Iran, Atlantic ocean (for blue water carrier ops) Plus SFM aircraft from Flaming Cliffs... I imagine this could take decades but possibly less with third party development partners.
  7. I had a similar problem with the snap view. Not sure if you can see it here. it makes the hud visible properly in the snap view. Check this out: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1132446&postcount=1 Maybe test if the hud looks right in the snap view Keypad: 0+5
  8. Even if you recentre your trackir?
  9. Press P to get open your drag chute.
  10. maybe flaming cliffs 3 related?
  11. I think you'll find they are creating planes for Microsoft Flight now... oh wait. zing...
  12. Yep I found the same thing. I took it off the trackir and left it on my friction wheel on the throttle. :smilewink:
  13. I flew the SU-25T with the ricardo cockpit mod tonight for the first time. It's a heap of fun and really easy to learn the basics. It's a great lost leader to get people into DCS World and playing with others!
  14. How can you take control of the F-15?
  15. Hmmm are you using the wrong radio? or try turning the number up to 13.
  16. I've had a couple of head on passes with average AI and they have turned around and killed me in seconds.
  17. If it wasn't for the DCS series I wouldn't be flying flight simulation at all. I think 2012 will be a very exciting year for ED and before we know it we will have a tonne of aircraft and a human JTAC co-ordinating them all. People need to stop asking ED to build new things and instead lobby other developers to get onboard the DCS platform.
  18. But think of the awesome co-ordination that could take place with all those players filling out different roles.
  19. Oh god I'm going to have to find my original disk! EDIT: Crap, I have a blank cd case with the disk in it but no manual or CD key!
  20. Love the new graphics!
  21. I've been doing a bit of take off and landing practice. Seriously fun and I've only just done this stuff so far. I setup a mission in the editor with dynamic weather so there's a bit of wind. Cross wind landing with zero assists. Notice the yaw on touchdown until I get the steering engaged (oops forgot to pull back for a second there).
  22. Yep with neutral rudder landing is going quite nicely. A minor thing I just noticed - zooming in the F2 view, the external lights go out on the aircraft. Zoom out and you can see them again...
  23. I was using the rudder trim to help with the cross wind landing. I think my other problem came from the fact that the torque dying pulled the plane in the same direction meant that it went into a slide a few seconds after landing.
  24. Has anyone else noticed that you tend to slide and crash after landing if you have rudder trim set? It seems much safer to land with rudder trim set to neutral...
