  1. Just a quick word to let you guys know that I finally got the hang out of it. I can now gracefully land ... ok not as quick as you guys ... but enough to be able to do mission without crashing at every landing. You guys showed me the way with all the goof information provided in this thread. Thanks again! I owe you one!
  2. Was wondering the same thing! Mostly I would like to know where the guys with the stretcher come from!?
  3. Thanks a LOT man! This is EXACTLY missing in my routine. I thought that this was all done automatically. Did not know about that radio command! Do you know if we can make a lua call / script to call it at the exact moment we want (from a trigger while on the ground lets say instead of thru radio command). Briefly, what does the radio command calls to make them disembark? If you know this, you will make my DAY.
  4. Hi Mad Dog, what you described here is precise. I was able to reproduce exactly as you said but if the pilot of the chopper is AI only. If the player pilot the chopper and even land at 1 meter of your waypoint, the infantry will refuse to embark. Switch it back to AI pilot ... and the soldier embark. Seems like the AI is intelligent enough to not trust us LOLL Let me know if you have the same behavior ...
  5. Hi guys, did a very small test mission with the Huey. Infantry_1 as a waypoint 1 which has the advance waypoint action "Embark to Transport chopper_1" Chopper_1 as a waypoint 1, which has the advance waypoint action "Embarking Infantry_1" I am landing really close to him and he looks at me like an idiot doing nothing. What am I missing? ROE? AlarmState? ... I am really out if ideas. Is it another basic thing broken that was never repaired?

  7. Hi guys, Two questions about soldiers and cargo for the Huey. 1. Can we add a soldier to the Huey back seat via scripting? 2. If yes, can we remove it also via scripting? 3. Can we remove / re add the copilot via scripting as well? Trying to figure out the ole cargo thing...
  8. Shot in the dark but ... Did you try to completely shut down your computer and start using a completely new USB port for you keyboard? (Joystck not connected). Briefly make your keyboard start using a new port, and when it works plug your joystck. Doing this force the usb driver to reassign addresses. I had a similar issue in the past, but with my phone and the keyboard.
  9. Yeah I finally did the mission. Indeed it is a long flight! Yep I did realize after reading this thread that the exhaust temperature get high easily if you push the engine in 120 mph+ When we do, we need to keep a very sharp eye on the exhaust temp gauge!
  10. Yeah but it was short. Just said that the email was transferred to the dev. group. I also gave them a link to this thread to see the interest. I will ping them back in 3-4 weeks if they don't contact me back.
  11. Wow! Really nice setup! I am impressed! The only thing really missing to your setup is like a 50 inches 4k TV. I could not recognize all your hardware, but did you link a ButtKicker 2 to your chair?
  12. Maybe not, it could be done by CaptainSim, who already did it for FSX. It would not take any time on Eagle Dynamics. I contacted them already, we just need to prove them that the community would have enough interest in their C-130 to justify the work. Not sure 100% that I can link a plane from them here in this forum, but just delete the link (moderator) if I cannot ... no bad intent here. That C-130 is out of this world (I have it for FSX). A DCS adaptation would be serious content! https://www.captainsim.com/products/c131/pro/exterior.html
  13. Wow how clean is your resolution!!! Wonder what I do wrong but mine is never that clean!

    Voice Overs

What I do not like with text to speech is that everything is always read like you would read a book ... There is no tone. Don't get me wrong, the technology is fantastic, but I am pretty sure the technology will let you set the tone soon (sad, happy, excited, order, scared ...and so on).

    A-10C vs L-39ZA

It's your choice you can do whatever you want. Indeed it is a sim. But I can tell you, take 2 players ... One who learned to fly DCS in an L39 and can drop a MK-82 dead center on a tank without electronic help, never used an autopilot, had to use terrain and his brain to avoid sam site (no radar warning), had to open his eyes and learned ennemi tactics since he has no radar, had to keep fight close since he only has IR missile/gun ... He becomes an awesome virtual pilot believe me. THAN make that guy jump in the F18. The second pilot start right away in the F18 with all the bell and whistle. Which one will be the most effective one? There is a reason why formula one pilots all began in 2 strokes cart racing. And no its not only about saving crashes. There are techniques to learn. I am not saying it cannot be done. Yes you can do that. But saying that is useless is just plain wrong.

    A-10C vs L-39ZA

I actually agree with you, the F5 is a great starter plane and has a bit more punch to it. The F5 is actually the aircraft I started to study right after the L39! All to say that the A10 is an awesome plane ... Really. But to really fully appreciate it, you need to have fought with more basic plane before. The L39 and the F5 are indeed awesome for that job!

    A-10C vs L-39ZA

I also have both. Here is a very satisfying recipe: First, let me tell you that the L-39 is a very satisfying aircraft to fly in DCS. Its flight model is top notch, its mostly bug free and you will need to learn everything RAW style. No electronic in there and you will need to learn the very basic of flying before being able to achieve anything with it. This is why so many guys said that this aircraft is one of the most rewarding one in DCS. I can tell you that the first time you hit the bridge you were aiming, a LOUD YEAAAAHHH will resonate in your room! THEN ... when you master it, switch to the A10. Then an ole new wave of electronic goodies will be thrown at you, but you will appreciate it more since you will see the difference between the older platform you mastered (the L-39) AND a newer top notch ground ponder filled with electronic. The logical way would be to start with the "trainer" plane, master it THEN switch to the A10 when you will feel ready. Just my opinion ...
  18. Yeah found some trace of it over google, but the "official" download pages are now returning a 404 error.
  19. Two question here ... 1. It seems that the ADF station is straight north when I set it up!? Actually where are we heading? Airfield? 2. I was not able to complete the mission since my engine caught flame. I was going 120 mph when the captain was constantly asking me to go quicker. So I guess I over stressed the engine. My question here is, what should I watch on the dials to avoid falling in that situation?
  20. LOLLL same here I was so pissed!!!! Now I set the ADF 353 myself before taking off ...a bit of cheating but since the captain is only good at bitching ...
  21. Hi guys, I read everywhere to use JSGME but I was never able to find a web page or an "official" location to download it. I find various shady file ranging from 2010 to 2014 on this and it feels like black magic. Briefly where is the official safe place to get this? Thanks!
  22. Actually, it would even be better if ED would accept to open a new thread section (like for other third party developers with their own aircraft). It would show that ED encourage the community in developing strong component for their game. Not saying it should be done for every mod, but I would say that this A-4E is complete enough to earn the title of an official DCS community aircraft.
  23. I am here everyday checking out if Belsimtek will finally give details about their AH-1S Huey Cobra. They announced it on facebook once and can't sleep since :)
  24. The more I fly the Belsimtek Huey .... the more I LOVE that aircraft and wish that Belsimtek would go with the legacy Cobra. I would feel like a kid at Xmas. I also fly the KA-50, but for some reason it doesn't give me the raw feeling of the Huey. I guess that coming form the same era, and being built by the same developers, the Cobra would have a similar feel to it. For sure the flight characteristic would be different, but I am pretty sure it would feel REALLY alive like the Huey does.
  25. Don't waste time to reset your script all the time. You can load the lua script dynamically from your mission by doing this: Create a trigger when you want to start your script, and in the action section set it this way: ACTION: DO SCRIPT TEXT: dofile([[D:\DCS\Missions\Cold War Flight School\Mission 02 The Assessment\the_assessment_level_1.lua]]) I guess you understood that you need to point to your file. BUT ... **IMPORTANT** ... when your mission is ready to be deployed and final, remove that call and replace it by the standard DO SCRIPT FILE call that you are already using. If not,if you share your mission it will not start since the target script file will not be at the same location on everyone`s PC. You get the idea ... You will send me a beer, no more ****ing around with reloading script, save, update and all. You can now edit your script in and editor, save from the editor, than start your mission ...that's it.
