  1. Hi guys, I do like having full control of my chaffs and flares. How can I drop 1 chaff/1 flare when I pushed the dispenser button. I tried every programs, Man, ByPass, Semi ... I even tried going in the DED and set 1 CH and 1 FL (Instead of 20) ... same result. Briefly, what need to be done to drop a single chaff and a single flare for each of my button push. Thanks
  2. Haha I grew up in James Bay (North canada). Commonly -40c during the winter. As a kid in the 80's I remember clearly my father and his friends not stopping their diesel truck at night. They would never restart in the morning.
  3. Just to clarify, I actually never complained about that thing. I just noticed it and was wondering if it was implemented as a feature. Wondering what are the official Huey specs as far as starting in cold weather goes. Indeed -12 c is quite mild (I am Canadian) and we commonly starting our cars with -30 C in my area. However I do know that starting a car engine and a big jet engine is quite different. Does the Huey have an APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) or the battery needs to spin that big jet engine?
  4. Ok thanks! Missed that one.
  5. Yeah maybe. Also the coldest temperature we can set in DCS is -12 C on the Caucasus map. So it is not that cold...
  6. Hi guys, I just noticed that I can no longer have snow precipitation in 2.7. I tried with "Overcast and rain" 1,2 and 3. I also set the temperature to -10 and set the date in January. No snow fall. Am I missing something or the precipitation for snow were temporarily removed?
  7. Thanks for the feedback VonVerner. I already have Powder Keg Soup II in the oven. I am making the sound recording at this point. This one is way more difficult, and would reach medium difficulty. The one you just played would be nice as an intro mission for the campaign.... not too difficult and mood oriented.
  8. Guys if you try this out, please let me know if you think the content is fun. Take a minute to come back here and comments. It will tell me if I should invest time on that easy campaign or not.
  9. Yes I guess you could simply change the aircraft type directly in the mission editor.
  10. Ok this is what I thought! Nice feature! I guess I never noticed since I probably never flown in Caucasus during winter.
  11. Not at all. Simply doing the most basic cold start. All within 20 seconds or so. I will post a track later on today...
  12. I looked around for this bug ... but did not find it. While cold starting the Huey, it starts shaking like crazy. It shake so much that it moves of few feet and the ground crew will scream at you "HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING" if you cold start with external power. They usually say this when you try to fly away without disconnecting the power first. Please do something about this. Any new player will think that they did something wrong. The shake is not minor in any ways. It is extremely present!
  13. Hi guys, not sure if I missed something ... but in the last few weeks, I noticed that the Huey is shaking quite a lot on cold start. Is it a known bug? It shake so much that the ground crew will scream at you "HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING" when you cold start with external power. They usually say this when you try to fly away without disconnecting the power first. What brought that new thing?
  14. Indeed this module is a CLASSIC. I cannot wait for them to refresh it like they did for the A10. Not announced, but I am praying for this!
  15. I had a weird experience today and wanted to check with you guys if is indeed implemented. I am using the Huey for years and to my surprise, I was not able to cold start it this morning in a Caucasus mission. I thought that maybe the update to the new 2.7 Beta broke something. So I started to debug this and notice that the battery was way lower than usual. What is different with that mission is that it take place in the deep winter of January with a temperature of -12. I do know in real life that batteries are weaker in the cold, so I asked the ground crew to provide me power. BOOM the chopper started! So .... can I conclude that ED coded the fact that the battery is weaker when cold? Or it is something else I could miss.
  16. ** REQUIRE DCS 2.7 & The Syria map ** Version 0.9 Beta As a pilot of the Israel air force, you are tasked to sink 2 Chinese cargo ships in the Lebanese territorial waters. This mission is fully voiced (dozens of recording), has custom music and automated radio. I would consider the difficulty to be easy. To complete it, you need to know the following: 1. Take-off / Landing. 2. Follow a flight plan thru the programmed steer points. 3. Use of dumb bombs and rockets. Enjoy and please leave comments. It will help for my future missions. Thanks! Mission File https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3316729/ ** INSTALLATION Simply drop the file in your directory [User]\Saved Games\DCS\Missions Scenario May 1985, Shortly after the Lebanon war of 1982, the dust slowly settles between Lebanon and Israel. However, the middle east is more divided than ever and dozens of insurgent groups fight each other in search of power. Syria becomes a nest for insurgent groups, becoming the haven of weapon smugglers and extremists. On May 6th 1985, Mossad is getting tipped off about a huge shipment of thousands of Chinese AK-47 and RPGs heading for Syria thru the Bassel Al-Assad port. These smuggled weapons will be sold to the various insurgent groups, representing a serious threat in the area. The cargo ships smuggling the weapons, named Sheunsh an Awhan, are currently crossing the Lebanese territorial water, heading to the Bassel Al-Assad port in Syria. The Israel military demanded access to the Lebanon airspace to sink these ships, which are a threat to security of both countries. Since Lebanon has no air force and would rather let Israel take the political heat for destroying Chinese ships, it temporarily granted the Israeli air force access to their airspace. On the morning of may 7th 1985, the operation begins. Note from the developer 1. The ATC and radio are fully automated in this mission. You do not need to touch it at all. 2. For the best experience, set the AUDIO option "IN-COCKPIT" to 50%. This will provide the perfect volume to hear the radio. 3. Follow the Flight plan / Steer points precisely for the mission to run smoothly. I have few missions of this type that are quite interactive, but that are relatively easy. If I see that there is an interest, I am planning to release a short campaign. Please leave you comments.
  17. Confirmed fixed in 7139! Thanks ED!
  18. Indeed it fixed the problem. I mixed up SSAA and SSAO. Disabling SSAA fixed the problem. Thanks for helping out
  19. FIXED IN 7139, thanks ED ** IMPORTANT EDIT ** Disabling SSAA fixed this issue. I got mixed up with SSAO (MY BAD) With version 7029, my missions look like this. The cloud appears over the scenery objects. I also disabled SSAO as asked by the dev team. I am not in VR. I had to revert back to 6709.
  20. I ended here since I am having the same problem. However in my case, the message to tell me to setup the radio never shows up. I am on 2.7, does the campaign works with that release? I am currently stuck right at the beginning... Two things should be adjusted so far from what I see at the beginning of the campaign: - Always make any displayed message to be shown at least 60 seconds. In the action, any messages displayed less than that can be missed. - Amplify the radio call volume. I tried to play around with this in the audio setup, but was not able to set it right. The radio calls are way to low. If I enjoy the first two mission, I will open the campaign file and try to amplify these.
  21. Looking at the processing power of the CPU growing at exponential speed in the last 20 years, I think that we could say that ED could probably become one of the first digital battlefield. Some would say that it is not their goal, but I think that the introduction of Combined Arm is a sign that there is an interest there. But I do agree with you. If ED put effort on the ground level with detailed infantry, FLIR, civilian units and so on ... that would bring a lot of interest for newcomers. For example ...a typical Apache's mission in the middle east is to patrol roads at nights while using the FLIR system to find insurgents digging for IEDs. Even though a mission like that would be fun as hell and seems relatively simple to create with editor&script, it could not be done right now in DCS since there are no possibilities to animate the infantry. Briefly, the interaction with the infantry is mostly non-existing right now. I would not expect ED to go as crazy as Arma at that level, but at least provide good infantry units as well as possibility to add custom animations. This would bring the mission design to a ole new level! I derailed off the thread here a bit ... sorry about that.
  22. I find interesting that many guys who fly the Huey also love the F5 (I do also). I guess its an era interest ... As the OP, I was asking about the Huey since it has a lot of love from the community. We see it everywhere on youtube, most of the people who are interested in helicopters praise it (I actually never read bad comment about that module) and I am pretty sure that it still sell a lot since I see a lot of newcomers asking about it. So I do fly it a lot, but I have to say that switching from the F-16 cockpit to the Huey will make you feel that the game is not from the same era. The 3D really feels outdated. A refresh would be SO welcome. I like the options proposed here in this thread ...mainly: A- A cheap (or free) simple 3D revamp with no new functionalities. B- A version II with few new features based on the same platform. C- A complete new version of the Huey as a new module. I guess option A is the most realistic one considering the workload that ED already has. Maybe B .... who knows. But I doubt we will see option C in medium term (even though I would like it for sure).
  23. Yeah after spending a lot of time with the snakeeyes I can confirm ...the spacing is the issue. So a bug we have (I reported it), but I would like to know if the fuses on the bombs are the bug ... or the fact that the aircraft will let you configure this. I guess that a real fighter pilot could comment on this... The bug I reported is here, ED already confirmed the bug. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/269961-mk-82-snakeye-detonate-at-release-instantly-killing-the-player-aircraft/?tab=comments#comment-4645696 They have posted a video showing it ...
  24. Hi guys, currently working on missions for the hind. I am wondering ... anyone knows if the hind as ADF or TACAN tracking?
  25. Yeah I can reproduce at will by setting a short interval (like 20 feet between bombs) and keep the speed at more than 500 knots. But now I even got worse... I have a mission where an AI F5 blown itself up by dropping these ...like 50% of the time.
