I haven't tried vac with dcs much but with arma 2 and 3 the command menu keeps popping up no matter what I change. It's very frustrating.

HDR with a 'D' like Dynamic for DCS 1.2.4
Dave317 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Has the huey bug got anything to do with screen resolution? The reason I say that is I have had to go back to 1680 x 1050 otherwise the cockpit instruments are blurry and there is a kind of shine that looks awful to me. I have noticed with the resolution at 1920 x 1080 if you turn the huey so the instruments are lit up by the sun or if you turn the dome light on the gauges are back to normal and are clear. This doesn't happen with the resolution set at 1680 x 1050. -
No he doesn't take the controls automatically. You can turn the autopilot on while you set the frequency then back off again after. Think of the autopilot as handing the controls over as this heli didn't have any kind of autopilot.

Seems this maybe an HDR problem. If I set it to 1080 I only get the blurry textures when the sun isn't on the dash using the huey with cockpit shadows and HDR off. When I turn so the dash is lit up its crystal clear again. Anything I can do?
-
Yes tried that, I never have it on anyway.

Anyone else having resolution problems lately? I went away on holiday and when I came back I can't use 1920 x 1080 anymore. The picture is all fuzzy and unplayable now unless I use 1680 x 1050 but it's not as nice to look at. I've tried rolling back the Nvidia driver as my computer downloaded a new one as soon as I switched it on but it's still the same.

I took mine apart and greased it yesterday after it getting very slightly sticky. I was surprised to have virtually no grease at all in it. Now it's perfect and makes huey flying alot easier, well worth doing.

Let us know if it's any good. I've never heard of it either and may buy it.

Upgrading and from AMD to Intel
Dave317 replied to Kaiza's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've just done this from a x4 955 to a i5 3570k. It's well worth doing, even at the same speed the I5 was nearly double the amd according to my performance testing program. I did need to format my hard drive and reinstall windows 7, it wouldn't boot otherwise. I did have a bit of trouble with the windows license but there is a way to confirm your is genuine by phoning number that then list loads of numbers that you need to put in the computer. It's not hard to do and it explains how to do it when you try and validate it. Probably worth going for the K version so you can overclock it in the future. -
It is in a winrar folder. It's only 2 lua files but I can't see anywhere on this site to upload them.
-
How do you upload it here?

I've come up with a profile that works really well for me. I've uploaded it to lockonfiles so it should be ready to download shortly. Have you ever noticed who the pilot is at 323? Quite a few big names in that film.
-
Seems to be broken.
-
Sorry to keep giving you extra work but have you thought about adding dead flies? A few squished bugs on the screen would be even more imersive imo.
-
Am I missing something? Where's the download link for V3?
-
Just though i'd check back in and say thanks for all your advise. I've got the I5 3570k and p8z77-v lx installed now with a decent heatsink and fan. It's so much better than the old amd 955 and even though they are both 4 core cpu's the stock (3.4 ghz) i5 is about double the speed of my 3.8 overclocked 955. I've overclocked it to 4.1 ghz but it doesn't seem to want to go any higher despite the multiplier being at 43. More research needed.

Great. Looking foward to it.
-
No photos but there was a glass mod for the ka50 with scratches from the wipers that looked really good.
-
Great mod although it doesn't seem to work with the un skin. Would it be possible to make one with even more scratches with some that follow the arc of the wipers?

Track IR Yaw plane not horizontal
Dave317 replied to Mazzic's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I find it much easier to fly now with it set to 0. -
I'm glad you guys are helping, it's a partnumber minefield! Thanks for all your help.

I think i've decided on the i5 3570K but what motherboard to go for. The local shop tried to sell me a gigabyte one but i've had them before and wasn't that impressed they don't seem to be the easiest for overclocking either. I'm looking at Asus now but can't really tell if one is better than the other. Would something like this do the job? http://www.maplin.co.uk/asus-intel-p8h77-v-le-628888
