is it possible to buy an extra code on my account and gift it to someone straight away ???? -
If it wasnt for skidrow and them other hacker idiots, you would be loving this game big style. The only thing that bugs me about ubisoft is there honestly in the matter. And the fact that pirates seem to be getting more and more powerfull by the day, by the release of the next hacked piece of software. how can you blame ubisoft for getting attacked ? if that attack had infact not happened. 100% of people who paid for SH5 would be sitting playing this game fine. to say you hope the backlash hits them where it hurts is basicly saying im on the side of the pirateers. is that really your POV ? Ubisoft deserve a tiny bit of admiration for attemtping something in a big way. the only people at fault here are the pirates. "ARGHH" i dont want to have to play console games for the rest of my gaming life. but this is how it will have to continue. Ubisoft need the publics support to get through this or its bye bye silent hunter series on the pc. better get your SH5 while you can, because theres every eventuality they wont release another. ever.

its not really an editor as such. if you package your mods with same folder structure as your game, the program will be able to swap the overwritten (modded files) back and forth, considering patches are inevitable this will allow you to revert back to vanilla state. theres a file checker too which will tell you what files have been changed from the original. ive made your lighting mod into a suitable useable file for the JSGME program. the program records the folder content from "data" down through the folder hierarchy. in the case of your excellent mod, its "Capthelms Lighting Effects mod for sh5" / data / Cfg / lights.cfg <- your modded file. and it works in JSGME. :)

are you posting at subsim diveplane ? edit: ignore, i see you know.. it would be nice if your mod could be presented for use in JSGME. a generic mod enabler. fantastic little program. http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html remove SH5 folder and it has the correct folder format to work. name of mod/data/ etc etc

Today im trying to play but ubisoft just wont allow it, connection issues, my friend who has cracked his version is playing fine. unbelievable ! i tried to be understanding of this new DRM, alas it has bitten me.. it hurts.

indeed it is quite refreshing, i personally like learning new things, in terms of this new way of things being potentially more dynamic its possible for sure, but on the other hand though its apparent just how restrictive it is. If I the captain wana shout for a depth under keep reading from the observation deck theres no way to do it. so i will be looking forward to having the best of both worlds in this sim with the mods. especially the TDC's return graphically... i dont understand why we cant have a cruiser ship controllable in this. not as part of the singleplayer but multiplayer in a smallish arena would be really really good fun. dropping depth charges the simple inclusion of above water tactics. hope it happens in this sim.

ive come to the conclusion that this release state of silent hunter isnt all as bad as maybe some have made out, i think it comes down to what our expectations for whats coming next in a long running series coupled with there expereince in the previous sims. The only thing at fault here is the deliverance of whats new and different from the last iteration, no explanation, no documentation, the frequency of the bugs together with everything else has led to a very confused community in the belief they arnt getting what they expected. however the end outcome of all this will be a fantastic new take on an old genre, and a classic worthy addition to any subsim fans game collection. i made a lil video.

to some degree i agree with what feuerfalke is saying, arguing realism is a no no here though given the lack of attention in many areas. i remeber in a vid one of the devs telling us that the modders will be very happy, with unexpected things to enjoy etc etc. Finishing a game for a corporate monster though, thats a bit over the top.
-
Actually, now that the having a new toy style fun is over. here we have a very promising sub sim thats half complete. half complete in just above out every area. the most annoying aspect are the missing key commands. Just about half are missing. currently the modders are putting together these key commands for simple stuff such as depth under keel etc. they forgot the return to course options too !! WTF.. Geez this is one screwed up release by ubisoft. phenominaly bad release. I have faith and time to wait untill its finished though, then it will be very special. i really mean it when i say ubisoft should have beta tested this product. thats how bad it really is.... now theres talk about them deliberatly doing this in relation to there cracked DRM. And it being another ploy to keep the pirates at bay. very strange stuff indeed ....

think its available on steam when released. Fantastic sim/game. and i really mean that. runs very very well, nicely optimised.W7e, i7950 3.3g, gtx280, 3gig ram. Being a human character in a machine makes all the difference. Atmosphere has been dramaticly increased in this sub series, also the chracterisation of the player has opened a door to some interesting narrative possibilities not usually seen within simulation games. Hope other sim devs take note...... I have spent about 2 hours in the sub so far on the first mission which is effectivly a intro tutorial. so ive not expereinced much of it yet. but it has all the hallmarks of a bloody great game. the game updated automaticly. ubi application that you login to was fine , no problems. the only thing i noticed was a slight pause for a milisecond every now and then, and i cant be sure that was the new DRM playing havoc. but its not a worry and didnt detract my attentions from what i was doing. one thing thats apparent to me is that when the modders get stuck into this, its going to be very very special...

ordered mine from shopto today, dispatched today, normally arives next day. woohoo :)

http://www.rfactorcentral.com/ Here is the wonderfull place of modding/development for rfactor. When the content is made correctly it most definetly is a sim. a Race driver training tool in fact.

best to learn all the keyboard inputs first i think. then program your stick as you see fit based upon what u want to hand. there are read me and document files in your lockon install. best start learning.

thanks for clearing that up sir.

LO and FC at present have starforce correct ? does FC2.0 uninstall starforce ? i was under the impression this update to LO/FC was dependant on the earlier versions being installed atleast for the download version of FC2.0. i guess Fc2.0 doesnt require starforce in any way, shape or form. but the overall product has installed starforce at some stage, prior to any DVD standalone version. Apologies if my understanding is mis-understanding.

nice icons, being critcal : they could do with a bit more distinction, F4F vs mig 29 isnt immediatly noticable. possibly enhance the specific features ? , more round nose for the f4 possibly, larger A2A missile points possibly. good stuff none the less. as an icon it should jump out at you telling you what it is.

i agree, posted this in the wishlist thread some time ago. always wanted a ground based module for DCS done by bis. even if its non playable. and vice a versa, a Flight model by ED for A2. regarding military contracts etcetra, wouldnt it be good to see the miltary combine a need and request from both these developers.
-
indeed they are terrible. whilst analogue support has been added it still does not work incrementaly. Keyboard is alot easier and more responsive. Its fair to say you shouldnt buy this game based on your love for flying aircraft. However on a purely tactical basis u can have a heck of a lot of fun with it.

there is partial concealment within the grass. I.E when prone the lower half of the body is concealed. i believe its been implemented in 1.05. but not expereinced it yet. Quite incredible what BIS has done for 1.05 patch. the AH64D is a pleasure to fly and use. Eagle Wing campaign being very exciting indeed. on a twilight mission in early morning a small scale nuke has been detonated , the apache crash killing my pilot gunner, i find myself in enemy territory and no knowledge of what to expect. I have an mp5 with 2 clips. about to recon 3 enemy camps..... Overall perfomance has been increased severly, it appears to be the optimised mil-sim everyone wants.. thoroughly enjoyable game now. using Ace2 is excellent too.

this problem is an inadequacy relating to the net code. Ive heard it 1st hand from a dev who kindly explained with technical jargon im not capable of understanding. The admission that there is something wrong was included and a relevant quote regarding its fix in the patch is also an admission that therre was/is a problem. Sadly that fix did not fix and there was attention payed to this fact in the form of factual communication. anyway ive had enough of this. i dont give a flying funk anymore.
-
Go investigate the problem.. PFFF. <anger rises> with all due respect ive been through this over at the dcs forum countless times. why dont you go investigate my experiences, go read my posts in the bug section. the mutiplayer section the general section.(patch1.01 thread) And read the response from dev team members. The fix required for someone like myself to enjoy hosting abbilities has "not been fixed in BS v1.01 a,b or c. sorry to be rude. but ive spent months investigating this whilst discussing this on these very boards. thanks for responding though. If combined with FC2 and black shark the hosting abbilites stil dont function for me, ill have to accept that... i do hope theres an update to the netcode though, which should have been my original question in this thread and provided with some concise background history of my expereiences. im just kinda sick of having to prove that i have investigated this each time i mention it. Random port assignment is the problem i face. my last discussions on this were in the form of a post asking the community what routers can and cant host DCS black shark without this random port assignment problem. The outcome of this post is/was that a Dlink router may serve me well. However the notion of purchasing a new router does not appeal to me. Yet... and i see no reason to get a new router because of the inabillity of the software to communicate with my router properly*. And besides this. I have witnessed the dev team comment on exactly what needs fixed regards the code. i can not explain what was said with any technical understanding. *Private hosting uttilising IP connect method is fine. just the public malarky via "that" lobby is the problem. Ultimately i want to see a very robust lobby system from ED for our community. Back in the days of old, hyperlobby served a community well. given the nature of DCS i believe it essential for Ed to give us some serious social lobby system of sorts that compliments all our desires to enjoy DCS to the max.

Great news i agree. i have one very important question. I currently cant host a DCS black shark online room. due to a randomn port forwarding issue. Will this be fixed for DCS black shark and its integration with FC2 update. and will i be able to host FC2 ??? or will i suffer the same problems with DCS that requires me to buy a new router. (i've quit DCS:BS due to this confirmed problem) my future with ED software depends on this question.
-
@ramstein. all i ment by match, was a game , server, room, etc etc. a typical home based server of this sim. well thanks guys, seems Dlink and Linksys are possible contenders for a purchase. bit dissapointed my post hasnt given me some more info and will now wind its way down to the last page on the threads here but thanks anyway. atleast i tried to help the situ.
