C.A.R.S. Community assisted racing sim from slightly mad studios, (some say ex-original simbin) Boasting a more complete dirver career from karts to DTM, Karts to F1 etc etc. A unique membership system also, from joe blogs to an investor. http://www.wmdportal.com/projects/cars/

hmm it doesnt really say a lot about the game. And well these sounds are nice i guess, but nothing special. And nothing over what GTR2 did with sounds. looking forward to "seeing" more lol

If you had read the EULA you would not be saying such things. And given the content of the Origins EULA which was amended after the controversy It is still not acceptable for me. I do use steam for my gaming. There is quite a big diference in how "I" as a paying customer are treated. im not a marketing tool for anyone or anything other than for my own affairs.. sorry to go OT again. but it is important (to me)
-
it might be harmless but in an age where EA:Origins Eula exists i can only be super sceptical.

lots of registering goin on there for things that arnt quite fully explained to me. i just wont do it.

a thought, like flaming cliffs is to DCS, i would very much like to see a title from ED that concentrates on helicopters specifically in the same vain as flaming cliffs exists for the jet scene. just a light hearted heli combat sim with plenty variation on airframes.

Take On Helicopter - New game by Bohemia Interactive
Ali Fish replied to Eight Ball's topic in Chit-Chat
thanks for the response sir, I didnt expect it to be quite as it is. but i understand your take on it. we all love visual dexterity after all... but at the end of the day it has to run adequately. However i welcome more gigabits dwarden. Surely if you guys can make it happen. an after release pack of hi rez textures for those willing and inclined might welcome the further attention. And in relation to FSX im sure your aware of the many many many gigs of addons that get run there. especially scenery with hi rez texturing and hi rez DEM,s etc etc. within the modding aspect i would personally like to try create a smaller game arena in size and head towards a little more of what has been seen in arma2/OA. maybe a 15km x 15km range scenery. -

All this FDM talk is fine but theres so much more in my mind that could/should get some attention. I remeber seeing an old VBS promo training movie where the emphasis upon multiple crew occupants in a chopper was being simulated with virtual reality. Ive no idea of the correct terminology so ill say the Lift guy was coordinating with the pilot out the side hatch to land the bird on a carrier deck due to his increased visibility and situational awareness. Functionality like that is what id like to see come in TOH. Not just pilotage. i also remember there being signaling simulation to land the birds on carrier decks. etc etc id like to see more joint operations in varying contexts. btw i have a major visual criticism. the loss of the close range texturing over & compared to the arma2 scenery construct is seriously dissapointing. it looks like FSX, horrible unless your at height. i really hope you sort that aspect out. i presume its a performance implication that leads to the loss of one of the texture ranges seen in arma2 when transitioning to height. now im wondering if via modding we can add some better close range texturing... save the guns and violence for arma3 ! -

im thinking i must read that dcs users opinion to see what they say.... Doh.! He's me btw. and yeah in a casual sort of way im really enjoying TOH. Its got its own unique style. and i do like the crazy RPG-esque approach to missions etc. one thing i cant understand is why everyone wants to turn it back into arma2 though. Modding in a non lethal sense should be very interesting indeed ! now the FM. Its not great, but out of where it was born (arma2) they have done a seriously good job in making it act like a real helicopter with some sort of realistic FM. but its not. but it is really "OK". Its hard ! very hard and challenging. For comparsion i suggest its like piloting choppers in FSX. There is a demo to be had shortly so everyone can check it out. -

i get the feeling its a more local flying affair. like say flying over a single city and doing whatever is on offer in that city etc... that said, what about bad weather operations ? -

Many performance improvments, but still many non fixes. Me of little faith has a little spare faith for IL2:COD though . on F-Fiveday... i mean friday there maybe a new beta test patch available which may include said fixes alongside a re write of the sound code and re vamp of the terrain graphics.

where is the best aviation picnic spot ?
Ali Fish replied to Ali Fish's topic in Military and Aviation
Believe this is from the other side of the valley. maybe we will see this terrain in DCS someday lol. -
where is the best aviation picnic spot ?
Ali Fish replied to Ali Fish's topic in Military and Aviation
indeed, wasnt aware of this area, its closer to me too. few hours cycle. unable to find a real definitive timetable for it though :( i still think lfa 7 is better :music_whistling: -
where is the best aviation picnic spot ?
Ali Fish replied to Ali Fish's topic in Military and Aviation
yeah thats pretty sweet though. but i fear LFA7 is thee place to do it, certainly in britain. what about america & russia surely there gota be some similar spots. -
ive noticed that by using the Lobby option and system in COD it bypasses whatever ports are required for steam connection, could that be it. it also allows connection via IP.
-
As the title suggests anyone have any good places in the world where u can get close and personal with the aircraft without breaking rules tresspassing etc etc. My favourite spot is LFA 7, The RAF's low level training area in wales commonly known as the mach loop. Ogwen valley. heres the timetable. http://www.raf.mod.uk/crowales/exerciseops/lfa7ttimetable.cfm heres a vid of what you can expect. just 1 of about 300 hundred video examples of this area. i reckon you get closer here than at any airshows. Theres a vid of a GR4 in a steep bank saluting the camera man lol. so anyone got a better spot than this ?????????????

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Ali Fish replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
why not? :) i understand its subject to change and especially through time. i think thats a reasonable question. or atleast we could have a thread about what not to wish for. for me i understand that Ed's development timescales are far faster than any new de classified information is going to be released and thats an important thing for the life of the DCS series given we cant actally have a definitive wishlist as you are possibly about to tell me. i just hope that this issue is not because the list isnt so concise in content.
