this is a good thing imo. ive done a fair bit of modding for arma2 landscapes. cant wait to get in there with this too. that will be a fantastic opportunity. Its no better looking than other sims etc but over the scales possible in the arma engine nothing equates to the fine detail it can produce let alone there fantastic but complicated shader system. No other flight orientated sims/games can produce centimetre scale detail like ive seen with bohemia's engines. granted you can only really achieve an area around 15km x 15km in size in there engine with mesh detail versus performance constraints but thats enough for what the game is. and im sure more emphasis will be put into enviroment than was in arma2. excited i am.

got this on release too. very nice program. somthing ive always wanted etc etc. not many chances to see our solar system with ourselves at the centre. And over in the space sim thread i had suggested having a full motion system in my fantasy space sim. this probally could help with that idea i dare say. but its fun adding celestial bodies to our system and seeing the effects. ive also been playing with 2 stars pushing and pulling each other and planets traversing bewtween orbits. this program all seems to be quite a good cpu stress tester. the most boring video ever made lol.

hi rextar. il2 cliffs of dover is a steam game, wether you have a retail hard copy or download it from any source. Your best bet is to sit back and download it from steam.

its a cert that ED are working on it. Initially black shark was not available via to the UK. After negotiating that issue with valve. Was the eventuall release of black shark worth while in terms of sales and broadening the release to the UK ??? its a fair question i believe and are ED hopefull of reaching there goal which i presume is to sell to the uk market as well.

may i politely ask what the problem is with A-10 in the uk ? bit dissapointed. all my flying buddies said they would wait till steam release :( ,yes there all in the uk) ignore : found the answer in another thread.

CFS2 was my flightsim i spent alot of time on. i remeber the carrier ops missions on the zone. i made a scenery mod back then. 231 canyon something or other, it was nice, many large tall land stacks to dogfight amungst. those were the days. island hoping and all sorts of silly fun. edit HAHA damn thing is still available. forgot about the pylon race course!!! . it had digital timing in game lol. 231st kokutai racing course and canyons. pfff lmao. http://www.thecfs2flightdeck.com/mpsumissions.htm

btw the drop ship in aliens was made & designed from an old apache worth keeping an eye on imo. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-04-20-deep-silver-announces-x-rebirth i would love a rotating star / planetary system in a simulated galaxy in space sim sim. ever moving,ever changing over a long period of time. and with something along the lines of how the BSG crew went about searching for Earth. mmo style. with that goal of finding the star systems and the never ending puzzle associated with 3d space constelations paterns etc etc. somthing requiring a scientific approach etc etc. exploration. anyone got a clue what im on about?. lol. one thing thats for sure is that theres plenty of space in the market for somthing new and incredibly groovy of sorts.

hello, missed alot of these posts, sorry, why did i stop playing it. That was probally because i should be working. lol. i was modding for it and well thats where alot of my interests lie with certain titles. asides that i seek better in a space sim that what it evochron is. but thats just me. i want a study style spacesim but with all the science fantasy too etc etc. untill that comes i probally wont dabble in spacesims anymore tbh. its an indie game, its not super hot graphically, but feature wise its rather sweet And its intentions are from the mind of one The developer. 1 guy. I have not played the latest incarnation. there is a demo im sure, i believe u get 20 min sessions last time i looked, just jump in and try it out, one of the developers attentions is how big an application he is delivering with emphasis upon it being as small as possible. much much much of this game is hardcoded which brings its drawbacks too imo.

Outerra just looks too damn good to be true.

i managed a multiplayer 2v2 the other night, out lasted my partner but inevitably i lost being it was my first ever total war mp match. btw when you in that cycle of looking for game and u cant seem to exit. you have to wait for the split second the yellow tab shows up to stop the search.

hehe i bought shogun 2 along with il2cod the other day, boy TW is kicking my ass too. but i love its new setup. attention to general history but not boring me with it style. very nice game. new multiplayer rpg-esque gameplay is good addition that should widen its appeall too.

one of the best spacesims ive endulged in. and indie game, free from the shackles of most games, supprisngly due to offering more than the majority of space sims combined. newtonian physics. planetary decents, space stations i played evochron legends for a time, did some modding for it too. very afordable and it has alot in common with elite. http://www.starwraith.com/main/go.htm

Glad ive got DCS A-10 to fall back on now IL2 is seemingly about as flyable as a wingless lemon.

well if i win this 117 million on this fridays lottery, ill pay him half that to keep making ww2 sims. lol. ED can have the rest \o/ \o/ \o/

wow thats not too good, my initial thoughts are "have i just bought a lemon again from ubisoft (IL2COD) again with high hopes ala silent hunter 5. ohh deary me let it be not true. damn ubisoft are fantastic at killing of franchises now i think about it. Also are the rapid changes from the storm of war straight into the cliffs of dover anything to do with his leaving. lots of room for scepticism here.

a good read indeed ! and well it pretty much follows my sentiments on the FPS situation. iam a console user but i still wouldnt go buy this homefront on the basis of that review. but i like the authors attention to the overall FPS situation (contamination)

what keyboard design was a10 designed for please. i do not have a right hand windows key. i have an "apps" key. and its a PITA not only to learn this sim but to then have to consider that i dont even have the right keyboard and require to re program all the keys. no wonder i couldnt cheat start the plane lol :) i guess my mcrosoft standard keyboard is no longer standard. anyone with a list of all right win key assoociated commands.?

with these flightsims and since the beginning of them. theres somthing else we require and i think DCS is more than capable of providing the experience. Aerobatics. im sure i heard in the new il2 they are providing an aircraft for such fun to be had. my thought or wish is for an offshoot product within the DCS series and fully associated with dcs to allow us pilots to take our experiences in this direction. its just another aircraft yes but. tailored for aerobatics / formation flyights and possible general civil aviation training. i think it would be a very popular & thoughtfull product aimed at the non mil-sim flightsimmer, it could lead to a civil aviation aspect with DCS and bridge the gaps allowing for non combat related activity within the combat related world.

iam working on a little flash exe file that will contain keyboard charts for all ED flightsims, and seperate functionality for you to concentrate on key commands for individual systems.
