  1. Delayed, until who knows when. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=269757 The PR surrounding this has been an absolute fiasco. I love what ED produces but they really make life unnecessarily hard on themselves.
  2. Listen to the warning tone before they hit the water too, it sounds too low pitched, like the video's been slowed down. TBP_pilot: just to make sure, you're not touching the stick before you're airborne are you? A track file or another video with the controls indicator may help.
  3. Entirely possible! We find out in 2 days :bounce:
  4. Yeah. CA integration comes later. I don't know if there is any other form of control in the meantime.
  5. If you didn't have CA, I don't think we know for sure. As you have it then I think you'll be able to. Not straight away though.
  6. I love ED's vision for DCS and am confident that they'll get there in the end, even if it's a bit of a long and bumpy road. I think people should be able to criticise where appropriate though, without ED's most dedicated fan base being like: :megalol::megalol:
  7. I was specifically responding to Lakis post that no videos have been released.
  8. Who knows? That's part of the problem.
  9. Seeing as they joined the forum last month, I'm going to assume no. Not everyone has been around here long enough to understand how DCS development tends to go. It would be nice if they made it less of a mystery to new players.
  10. I think normally a week or so. You won't be waiting until the autumn. But it can vary depending on whether there are any major issues. I'd recommend you just run the beta version of DCS anyway; there are rarely show stopper bugs and if they do appear a hotfix is normally released quickly. I'd encourage you to voice such concerns. If enough people do, ED may take notice. It's a real shame as it's a distraction from their good work.
  11. Not if its done correctly. If the AI is, say, smart enough to marshal players on an MP server, that would be far from meaningless.
  12. The manual says this: Not much point if there's only one frequency!
  13. Many thanks for the info. I was thinking in terms of having to make it back for the next recovery cycle, which clearly isn't practical for a long mission. What you're saying makes sense: although you may have a planned cycle to return for, you can recover at the recovery point of a different cycle.
  14. Can you tell me, does this work differently when in an operational theatre? I'm just thinking where sorties may last for many hours with lots of AA refuelling going on, ordinance being expended etc, surely you won't know to the minute when you're actually getting back? Collapsing the stack makes sense when those at the bottom arrive and leave the stack first, but if they were delayed by combat, I can see that potentially causing an issue? Thanks.
  15. Radio frequencies? I spotted the following in the amended manual: How will that work if all 4 stations are on the same frequency?!
  16. We'll see about that :)
  17. The deck is angled 9 degrees left of ship course, that might be the issue? ICLS is probably a better bet for you if you want guidance from further out.
  18. I don't think so. A GBU can adjust its trajectory forward of its ballistic path, which it wouldn't be able to do if what you were saying were true. Don't get me wrong the video you posted in post #4 doesn't look at all right, but if a bug is going to be reported it should be done right.
  19. I don't believe there is. ANY deviation from a ballistic path by very definition requires the application of lift. If you can generate lift, you can glide. The discussion here should be revolving around the magnitude of the Paveway's gliding abiity, not whether it can or not.
  20. Sorry to hear that. Stick with the Hornet to start with, it's much easier. Maintaining AoA should be straight forward; once you're trimmed correctly you should control pitch with throttle only (you should only be moving the stick left/right, no forward/back movement). You can always fly around with gear/flaps down to get a feel for this, without necessarily trying to land on the boat, for practice. Make small power changes often and early. At the merest hint of the nose moving in a direction you don't want, correct for it before it becomes an issue. Lastly, changing your angle of bank will alter your descent rate, so try and hold it steady, and where you do need to make a change, remember to alter your power to suit as you do so. Post a track as well if you'd like feedback.
  21. For me personally, no. But it wouldn't be good practice for ED to label their customers as impatient, simply for expecting them to release their products in a functional state by the advertised dates. Some people will lose confidence and simply never come back if that kind of behaviour is displayed.
  22. Some people will always whine, that doesn't mean threads like these shouldn't happen.
  23. Thanks. Also: what the... really?! Why would you say that when it's delayed for bug squishing anyway?! That's a much better reason.
