  1. ED is still working furiously to make the FC2 patch and add compatability with BS. Perhaps after then?
  2. I can't believe people are giving ED such a hard time over this. They are one of the last flight sim devs that actually care about their products and customers. They're not a huge team, so you absolutely need to have patience here. This isn't the kind of thing devs can just slap together anyways. In the end, what we get is the best flight sim experience available. Keep up the good work ED! We're all looking forward to enoying the fruits of your labour.
  3. It appears that as of right now, all we have are the YouTube videos on the site. That might change in the future though.
  4. I have a feeling that ED knew what they were doing when they were tweaking the FMs. Is there anything particularly peculiar about the handling that you have a problem with?
  5. Sure, a glorified patch, with a new graphics engine, new sound engine, tweaked flight models, more airports, new mission editor, new campaigns, new missions, intergrated server browser and soon to be intergrated with DCS Blackshark? All for half the price of most regular games? And that's not enough enough for you?
  6. I miss the menu music. FC2 music is alright, but 1.12 was perfect. :D
  7. I hope ED are finding new ways to optimize their engine, especially with multicore support because it's sadly falling behind the tech that is available. I've been playing Wings of Prey lately and the scenery is simply the best I could ever imagine and the best part is that it runs shockingly smooth and stutter free on my aging Q6600 and 9600gt at high res. Just imagine DCS looking and running like that one day. :joystick:
  8. It's early 2010 now!! :pilotfly:
  9. Multiplayer is the future. Instead of attempting to do the near impossible and making a competently AI directed campaign, there should be a chain of command system implemented with human commander positions on both sides directing AI forces and human players alike on large dedicated servers. No need bogging down our computers with AI calculations when we have all of this grey matter sitting around.
  10. Not to mention, F4 was nothing but a CTDfest back in the day. It took enormous efforts from the community and nearly a decade to get it where it is today. But now the engine is extremely dated and only the very hardcore of us can appreciate it. Even I feel more immersed in LOMAC than I ever could in F4 just because my brain finds the flight models and visuals more believable. F4 is still too rigid and rough around the edges, even with all of the best efforts from the mod community.
  11. If I have a European hardcopy of Flaming Cliffs 1.12 and I buy what I assume will be the North American version of Flaming Cliffs 2.0 online since I live in Canada, will they work with eachother?
  12. I just found out about this. Wow, this is exactly what I wanted. Bring it on! Wish we could buy this for Christmas. :music_whistling: I just can't wait! Multiplayer is going to be alive again. :joystick:
  13. And in August, we'll find out that the patch has been delayed to October. Yes, I'm starting to see a pattern here.
  14. Hyperlobby hasn't been updated in ages, nor will it be ever again, so no to that. But we don't really need Hyperlobby as much with DCS as it has a built-in server browser. Not quite as good as Hyperlobby and no chat, but it does the job.
  15. Huh? It's not until May now?! I was expecting it this month. :(
  16. I watched my AI wingman fly back to base with one rotor blade partially shot off. He was wobbling like crazy, but he made it, and I could see the damage to the single blade after he shut down.
  17. Great, now how do I get this to work when starting Lomac through HyperLobby?
  18. And the next logical question is, what kind of goodies do you have instore for us with this patch? :smilewink:
  19. Like comparing apples to oranges. Flaming Cliffs is obviously the way to go if you're interested in competing with others online but with a lower fidelity. BS has a super high fidelity that you can't find anywhere else, but lacks any real competition between players online, even in versus, simply due to the nature of Helicopter operations. Personally, I can't wait until the Mig-29 and/or F-15 or something are fully realised in DCS. Then everyone will be happy! :D
  20. I doubt that's modeled in the sim at this time. Wouldn't be a very high priority thing to be implemented either I'd imagine.
  21. I too wish they would have done that over in English with a Russian accent. It really kills the immersion having to read all this junk in the corner while trying to fly and find targets.
  22. I decided to reinstall LOMAC Flaming Cliffs recently to get my fixed wing fix, but to my amazement, this game still likes to stutter alot. The framerates are perfect, but I am still plauged by this stuttering during caching or whatever the sim is doing. I'm now running it on a Q6600, 8800gts 640mb, and 4 gigs of RAM. Is this something we just have to deal with, or is there a tweak out there which can help reduce the damn stuttering? Thanks.
  23. Oh, and I think it would be great if we could have some of the low fidelity aircraft from LockOn ported to DCS sooner rather than later to function as place holders but with limited clickable cockpits. No official campaigns/missions required. Just something to spice up the multiplayer. :joystick:
  24. Civilian air traffic.
  25. I was just in a server where it is pretty much like that. There's an actual ground war going on and it's 8vs8. Artillery units were moving in and shelling our airfield, I took off to search for them and take them out. Likewise, our artillery units are trying to shell the enemy airfield. It's pretty impressive.
