  1. Well, as I mentioned earlier. The "empty" parts of the map are 90fps in VR. Thats not the issue. Its just when you get close to any civilized area performance tanks. Mind you thats with an empty map. I haven't tried an online server but I'd worry about a map loaded with units. Its very good as long as you aren't near civilization. But the southern most city/helo port is like damascus on a bad day when it was first released. That being said I'm sure they will further optimize the map just like Ugra did with Syria.
  2. It also had surface search/attack modes. Also, I assume it might have had some way of doing basic slant ranging of ground targets for things like CCIP deliveries. OR maybe not.
  3. Just to add a bit of literature here... Method and system for tracking targets in a pulse doppler radar system A medium to low PRF pulse doppler radar wherein the effect of the clutter notch filter is eliminated at times when the doppler frequency of the target approximates the doppler frequency of the clutter to continue tracking the target provided that the doppler frequency of the target and clutter are at different ranges. https://patents.google.com/patent/US4450446 Given that this is a westinghouse patent from 1981 id say it very probably applies to say the APG66 or 68 radars and the techniques likely apply to any later radars. It describes both "track through notch" prediction techniques as well as eliminating clutter notches at high alt as Klar mentioned.
  4. So. Top tier system 12900k/3090, VR G2... Its "ok"... In the boonies 90fps... Near most "settlements" like 45-65 fps. A few of the bigger settlements on the argentine mainland its worse (i.e. less than 45 fps). Mind you most other maps are like 90fps most of the time in SP with the same settings. Syria gets into the 45-65 region sometimes in places like damascus. That being said none of these settlements are anywhere the size of damascus. IDK how performance scales to lower level GFX/CPU tho.

Thats roughly how I understand it "should" work. How it "will work" well we don't know yet. I mean its LD radar used MTI, which is a whole lot less good than PD in that dept. And yes, the main point of the Super530 was to shoot up at high and fast bomber/fighter threats. Annd. F14's...

Really the main issue is how well/badly they end up modeling the lookdown performance of the Cyrano, which reputedly was not very useful. Same for the R530's and even the Super 530F in terms of shoot-down performance.
  7. IDK, about the only real things I would like to see are animated buttons on the stick/throttle like other modules. And then a pilot body would be nice.
  8. Oh I get it, but sourcing/replacing/re-engineering parts must be a nightmare.
  9. Jeff crash BF dcs.log-20220531-010136.zip Here you go.
  10. Thats gotta be a nightmare to keep flying at this point.
  11. I mean as much of a bogey man as Iran is. At this point even with upgrades their Tomcats are really aged out anyway, you can only get so many hours out of an airframe. Though I have no doubt that these days they stuff a more capable radar than an AWG-9 into that huge schnoz.
  12. Yeah this maybe the case. For me the deal breaker was even with the sharpening up to 100% and the saturation turned up pretty high (yay G2 things) It still looked better in steamVR with reshade. Now I'm sure I could tweak the saturation, but point was clarity was still significantly better in steamVr with reshade adaptive sharpening. Performance wasn't bad, but it wasn't "better" really. The other subjective thing was that shimmering seemed to be better with OpenXr (i.e. less). But that could also be a difference in the sharpening settings. Also, IDK if the devs read this but the toolkit UI is terrible and it would be really nice to have a way to toggle from "default" to "user" settings like reshade does to compare.
  13. Sorry no, it was on blueflag. It also seems like its not 100% every time, as I had some flights when someone called the DCS awacs and it didn't crash. Does DCS save the crash files anywhere? If so I can probably dig it out.
  14. You aren't the only one. I've been running steamVR and reshade, and good performance + very sharp visuals. I switched to OpenXR and well... Performance was similar, or a bit worse FPS wise. And the sharpness even with it cranked to 100% in OpenXr still wasn't as good as the reshade "sharpener". I will say the image in OpenXr looked like it had less shimmering, and it certainly felt "smooth" but it wasn't some night and day thing for me in terms of visuals or performance. So either I did something wrong or, my system is fine with steam which i optimized with speed of heats guide long ago.
  15. Yeah it seems to still be doing that. You do have to clear stuff on the radar page for the TGP then to move to WP's.
  16. I am so confused. So I need to goto the radar page to delete the spi there?
  17. New here?
  18. I'm having the same issue. Even with HNS-INS. I change the WP to FP-02 or whatever, and slave keeps going 01, or some random ass place. I switch to snowplow and back, same issue. What am I supposed to hit on S2? "S 2 Sensor Control PRESS control twice" Left right up/down?
  19. Yeah also just experienced this bug, can Deka verify.
  20. lol no. I mean sidewinders, and depending on the how well the radar is actually done, the 530/super530... Be interesting on how well it works (or not) in lookdown.
  21. I mean if ED said they were gonna have an OpenXr as well steamVr option. And yes I know necksaver doesn't work in OpenXR.
  22. The perpetual DCS problem. Esp for WW2. ED just needs to pick a year that isn't 1945 and go for it with a core plane set and expand forward and back. Gotta say though the night fighter thing is pretty cool. Also have they announced the next ED WW2 module?
