[RESOLVED] FM: Sinks to much during bank & groove.
Spiceman replied to CoBlue's topic in Bugs and Problems
They'll fix it after someone makes a video and spoon-feeds it to them. Oops, did I say that out loud? -
Spot on!

How to prevent the other team for seeing waypoint flags for ground units?
Spiceman replied to MobiSev's topic in Multiplayer
Which setting prevents spectators from seeing everything on the map? The ME F10 settings apply to players that have chosen slots, not to spectators. I have the F10 forced to Own A/C in the mission. Spectators can still see everything. -
Hey, question for you guys... I noticed that in the 104th server, you can choose a slot and fly, of course... but I also noticed that if you don't choose a slot, that you can't just spectate... that if you try to select Briefing, without choosing a slot, it doesn't let you. I like that... how did you guys do that? Is that done through one of the scripting tools?

+1 this sort of feature is sorely needed, we shouldn't need to trust the honor system to keep people from behaving as omniscient spies in a mission. -
I saw it yesterday when I ran Cage The Bear Mission 1.

Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread
Spiceman replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in DCS Modding
Since a multi-player de-sync we experienced last weekend could possibly have been Tacview related, and not actually a DCS or F-16 bug, I'm posting a link to it here. Please check it out... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=254481. -
Major MP de-sync on a large-scale mission. It seemed to be when a couple F-16s approached a ZU-23. The Tacview showed the F-16s firing, but the bullet type is actually what comes from the ZU-23. All 20-something mission participants froze for a few minutes at that moment. Tacview on the server also crashed (no client/local Tacviews crashed). I can't seem to upload the files here, something about a missing security token. Here's a link, https://drive.google.com/open?id=1u1mCI1Ilk2FQ4pxQm7YUzc3o8RMuabKL

1. The INS is indeed immune. The INS has no concept of magnetic heading. It only sees the world in the grid created by the poles and the equator. The error you see is coming from the AHRS which is seeing the magnetic heading via the mag sensor in the vert stab. All heading information on the HSD, VDI, BDHI and HUD comes solely from the AHRS and the INS plays no part in that. Mag Var is entered so that the AWG-9, taking position info from the INS, can show target mag heading and bearing. You get lat/long, speed and true heading from the boat’s INS during alignment. So again, the mag heading error you’re seeing via AHRS is not related and has no bearing (no pun intended) on that whatsoever. 2. Not sure what’s going on there. If the boat is heading 270, and you’re AHRS is properly slaved, you should hold the needles while showing a mag heading of 261.

Helios 1.4 - Taking to the Skys Once Again
Spiceman replied to BluFinBima's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you for the terrific lead. Yep, Reset Monitors is scrambling my monitors. These are my monitors. Monitor one should be at 5120, Two at 0, three at 2560, four at 8480, five at 9280 and six at 7680. Reset monitors puts them at 2560, -2560, 0,0, 5920, 6720 and 5120, respectively I can manually edit them in the .hpf file, but then the profile insists I do a Reset Monitor again (even though the Profile Editor shows them all matching up), and it's all screwed up again. So the question is... how do I fix the .hpf file and convince Control Center that it's correct? Edit... never mind I’m guessing this isn’t it. It’s simply basing all coordinates off of the main monitor it’s declaring the main monitor to be at 0,0. So that’s not a problem (or shouldn’t be). All the bindings are there.... Question... the F-14 uses the "DCS Generic" interface... is there a .lua file for it? I don't see a .lua file with "generic" in the file name? -

Thanks... double checked I'm using all of CZ's script files. I do see this in the Helios Debug log file. Any ideas? -

Brand new PC, new install of Helios and Capt Zeen's F-14 profile from scratch. The interface isn't working, all gauges frozen. I've noticed this error when I open the DCS Generic interface in the profile explorer. Any ideas? -
Yeah, I agree... the slave switch position should have no bearing on the presence/absence of the LOS indicator. If the TCS has a contrast lock, or if the HCU is driving it, the LOS indication (pipper if in SP/PH/OFF, diamond if in SW and TCS has contrast lock and no STT) should be on the hud.

Hmm. I’ve never seen that in the sim. IRL it’d be a bad IMU and in the jet you’d revert to AHRS/AM and you’re now using the AHRS gyro for attitude reference and the NAV computer would be calculating your position from pitot static inputs (not very accurately).
-
Yes, it’s literally exactly like your average Cessna. In Slaved mode you’re flying the fancier model with the Garmin G1000 and the auto slaving DG/HSI. In DG mode you’re flying the 1980s 172 with the DG you have to slave every 15 minutes or so. In COMP mode, yep, the MAD is tied directly to the BDHI turning into not much more than a vertical wet compass. In Slaved, pressing the HDG button bypasses some of the hysteresis functions and slaves the DG faster.

I think his question was from the cockpit in flight. A maintainer on the ground can certainly do it. By definition we did it every time we tested the system. We had tools to make the weight on wheels switch, make the nose gear door switch, and there was a ground safety override switch in the nose wheel well which bypassed the landing gear handle interlock. We had a test set we hung on the missile rails which basically had the electronics of the missile and we “fired” missiles and the test set verified all the signaling and proper LTE timing to the missile.
-
I don’t believe these can be bypassed with circuit breakers, else we probably would have done it that way doing our weapons checks, as opposed to hauling special tools around.
-
It would be really nice if there was a way to save the mission as it ended. For example, if you had a mission with a bunch of SAMs or armored units, and at the end of the mission there were half of them destroyed, you could save that mission in that state and that would be the starting conditions for a new mission. It would be great for someone who wants to conduct a campaign-style series of missions.
-
There are several interlocks to fire weapons... weight off wheels, nose gear door closed, and landing gear handle up.

Trigger full action, or second detent....

2 months since TGP release and today's OB was...

I totally agree with the subscription. Initially, it will be like dragging a drug addict (in this case addicted to a mostly free game) into rehab... at first they’ll kick and scream, cry, attempt to reason, threaten to run away... but after a while they’ll enjoy their new life so much they won’t be able to imagine it any other way. -
He does it automatically. If you watch the TID you’ll see him designating targets as friend, hostile, etc.

Question... when I am in the game as Red Game Master, Blue flights can’t hear me. Radio shouldn’t care about red and blue, a frequency is a frequency. Is there a setting for this somewhere?
-
Way too dim in the sim. IRL they were bright enough that they were uncomfortable to look at it after you’re eyes were used to the dark.
-
It’s not classified. The -1A has been declassified for quite a while. They’re just very hard to find. vCVW-11 actually tried to FOIA a copy from NAVAIRSYSCOM. They didn’t deny the request, they simply said that they could not locate one. One came up on EBay a while back and someone (cough cough) snagged it.
