  1. Your video clip is of a runway barrier arrestment, a completely different beast to a carrier trap. No F-16 was ever carrier-capable, not even the USN (T)F-16N.
  2. The astronomical equinox can vary as it's based on the position of the Earth vs the sun. This year it's the 23rd (0750Zulu in the UK). The meteorological autumn began on Sept 1st, so by that criterion the F-16C module is already overdue. Will I complain? Of course not, as I'm an adult. :) I hope not. Most of us are realists, who want a usable, realistic F-16C. Anyone holding ED to a specific delivery date is a fantasist. We all know the challenges ED face, let them concentrate on delivering the module we want.
  3. The F-16C cockpiit looks fantastic... brought back more than a few memories from a decade ago. I can almost remember my startup checklist.... ;)
  4. I use this... identical to the stock WH part but allows push-through.
  5. The F-117 Nighthawk lives on...Paramint Valley NV February 2019.
  6. Regardless of "authenticity", I'd love to see the current BAF demo team replicated. The 'Dark Falcon' scheme is the mutt's nuts anyway, but the 349/350Sqn commemorative D-Day paint jobs are jaw-dropping. "Lest we forget"....
  7. +1 The external textures look good, but it was the "wear-and-tear" scuffs on the consoles and side stick that really lit my burners. That level of realism is to be applauded.
  8. A work of art... the wait was definitely worth it. Thanks GA!

  10. First off, I saw a 10x improvement in the OP's tests. Second, I suggested that there might be a difference in DCS. Thirdly, I simply don't give a toss. Except that your example is apposite to the teaching of The Koran :( My apologies for intruding into the cosy DCS world... won't happen again.
  11. The final item in the Key Features list on the Pre-Purchase page states "Multiple liveries for the United States Air Force and Air National Guard, Air Force, Turkey, Greece, Israel, and others". I take that to mean that ED will include only Block 50 liveries with the module. There's no restriction as to what the community's own artists can produce though.
  12. Nobody said reviews were "wrong"; I'm merely suggesting trying it and seeing if it makes a difference. Take it or leave it, it's no skin off my nose. ;)
  13. Maybe it will make no difference. As the Magician software is free though, and has other practical benefits such as updating SSD firmware, it's worth experimenting with. All it costs is a reboot... no risk to data.
  14. Col. Kristopher Struve, the 35th FW commander, holds up the 14th FS call sign, “wood,” before a takeoff at Misawa AB on June 10, 2019. This aircraft is the first Block-50 F-16 Fighting Falcon in the entire Air Force inventory to hit the 10,000-flight hour milestone. [uSAF photo by A1C China Shock] Affectionately known as "BOB", 90-0808 is 29 years-old. The age of Col Struve was not disclosed.
  15. It's a limitation of either the hardware or the Magician software. I have 3 supported Samsung EVOs (a 500GB 860, and 250/500GB 850s) and can also only enable Rapid Mode on a single drive. Look at the difference in sequential reads Ntrospect recorded... a ten-fold improvement could make a huge difference if DCS is (for example) having to reload terrain detail on-the-fly. If you have a supported Samsung SSD, testing for yourself costs nothing but time. Magician will not affect non-Samsung drives so you can experiment for yourself with impunity,
  16. Gotcha, a lower sg (familiar to us old-skool home brewers) Thanks for enlightening me. It's details like this that bring the aircraft to life for we civvies, even if ED don't go so far as to actually model the different fuel types. :-)
  17. Take my money now! :)
  18. I had no idea... that's fascinating. So JP-8 is lighter (lb/gallon) than JP-4?
  19. The GE-F110s have variable spray bars iirc. There are no "AB zones", just min/mid/max augmentation based on throttle position e.g. just through the detent/midway between detent & stop/against the throttle stop. Anything finer would be defined by the fuel flow gauge alone. Personal preference (in another sim a long time ago) was for section/formation takeoff on full AB (unless Cat1), gear up when appropriate, then set climb angle to maintain 300kts in MIL until rejoin. Once all chicks are saddled Lead sets smash/vector/formation... sorted!
  20. I'm just a life-long civvie who's never been close to a real F-16C and is using info based on publicly-available (i.e. old) documents and prior experience of other sims. I'd never claim to be "correct", Sryan. ;-)
  21. Shouldn't that be 7100lb for the F-16C Block 50?
  22. There's still one worthy of Scooby-Doo.... 86-0052. A Block 30 F-16D that hasn't been assigned to a base/unit for over a decade but still makes occasional appearances in the NTTR. Who knows, perhaps a 31year-old aircraft is responsible for some of the UFO sightings around Groom Lake? (Yup, it's a Rogoway piece but the photos and airframe info are 100% verifiable as accurate.)
  23. I had to find out.... I don't like mysteries. :-) Apparently it's a Block 30 from the 177FS carrying a TARS pod on sta5. Photo was taken during deployment to Balad AB in May 2010.
  24. Probability of threat e.g no AA opposition or radar-guided SAMs in the target area? Or perhaps if dedicated ECM aircraft e.g. EA-18G or EA-6B are fragged to cover the F-16C package?
  25. Late in the day??? https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3934656&postcount=158 Wags posted this on June 3rd, more than 45hrs before you. Who's late to the party? :) Personally I'd rather ED admit that a feature hasn't been adequately tested and delay it, than push it out broken due to demand. DCS customers expect realism, so that should be the primary concern.
