114L Hellfires consistently miss parked aircraft
FalcoGer replied to Floyd1212's topic in Bugs and Problems
I've had a few issues with missile accuracy. Switching INU and/or resetting INU for in flight alignment seems to fix it. Not sure why INU would be an issue though. But switching and resetting INU consistently fixes inaccuracy issues. Right now the missiles are unreliable. -
need track replays Badly desynchronized waypoints on MP
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
Played again yesterday, seemed to work fine that time. -
Huh... that's probably a better way to test a bad inu than to reset in flight and do some crazy maneuvers, hoping that it goes bad.

unable to reproduce Taking control randomly sets throttles to 50%
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just a hazardous guess on my part is that it might be a race condition in MT between loading the controls diff lua and synchronizing cockpit controls. Maybe it synchronizes controls before reading the diff lua file and actually set the correct bindings and instead sync to the defaults? I still have that controller connected that has the weird axis that's shared between the left and right trigger, 50% by default. Maybe it's somehow using that. Hard to test though since it's random. -
resolved CPG NVS symbology sticks on TEDAC after switching NVS mode off
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm confused by the tag. Regardless whether if it's WIP or not, this is still an issue. The systems are in the game and they don't behave right, that's a bug for me. Or is it correct as is? Is this known? -
By default the TEDAC displays TADS symbology, even when HMD is the selected sight. When activating NVS as CPG, the TEDAC shows the helmet flight symbology instead of TADS symbology. However, when deselecting NVS back to OFF, the flight symbology stays on the TEDAC. To reset it, one needs to select TADS as sight and then back to HMD as sight. To reproduce Use hot aircraft Go to front seat. Observe TEDAC showing TADS symbology Select NVS NORM Observe TEDAC showing HMD symbology Select NVS OFF Observe TEDAC showing HMD symbology still Select HMD as sight again TEDAC shows HMD symbology still Select TADS as sight Select HMD as sight TEDAC now shows TADS symbology again Expected behavior Either TEDAC never shows HMD symbology, even with NVS Norm/Fixed or TEDAC switches back to TADS symbology when NVS is selected OFF or TEDAC always shows HMD symbology when HMD is sight (probably not this one) not sure which. Thanks. That works.

With the new "Button_OFF" key bindings you can get something similar with this Open the cover on button down and press the jettison on button up. Downside is of course that you then can't unpress the button. If you swap them you can just press the same button twice though.

This seems to have been quietly added (or I'm blind) to one of the latest OBs in the form of "button_off" bindings. Thank you ED.

unable to reproduce Taking control randomly sets throttles to 50%
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
There was another bug that may or may not have been fixed where sync cockpit controls would not honor "disabled" controllers being disabled. Make sure it's not that. But in my case, no axis was assigned, even on a disabled controller. -
I didn't know that. Did they add that feature for all key binds?

correct as is FLIR medium zoom slew speed seems way too slow
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm sorry. I didn't design the system. But if I had, I would have made it so that the slew speed depended on the FOV and made it consistent to get the same 'feel'. I just find it strange that a more zoomed in view seems to slew very fast while a slightly more zoomed out view could hardly manually track a target while flying by. If that is how the apache is, then so be it in DCS. Sadly, and unsurprisingly, I couldn't get any real data on the M-TADS slew speeds to compare the DCS values to, and I don't know where ED got their numbers from either because they don't tell. So all I have left is make an educated guess on how such a system could/should work and then see how it 'feels' in game, and it feels off. Do you understand my point? -
unable to reproduce Taking control randomly sets throttles to 50%
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes I do have sync cockpit controls on. But still, no axis is actually assigned to the throttle/power levers. It shouldn't synchronize controls when there are no controls bound to it. You can see the control bindings in the screenshot above. It's cut off on the right, but there is only "Mouse" left, which is also blank. The highlighted line is the throttles. -

correct as is FLIR medium zoom slew speed seems way too slow
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
Regardless of what you call the widest FOV in the TV, it's still zoomed in more than the medium FLIR FOV but slews 3 times as fast. -

Sometimes the throttle randomly jumps to 50% when hopping into an aircraft or when taking control from the front seat. It seems to be a one time thing, as in, if it doesn't happen the first time, it doesn't happen after that either. I have double checked that no axis is assigned to the throttles for any of my controllers and it isn't so, both for PLT and CPG. Track attached. Track is a hot start and should start with 100% throttle, which it does most of the time. Just sometimes it jumps to 50%. When replying the track it consistently goes to 50%. Random50PercThrottle.trk

We had a minor power failure in flight causing the INU to reset. After an in flight alignment the radar hellfires would continuously miss by the same amount in the same direction, about 200ft or so to the east of the target. I know it is the INU because after landing and resetting it, the missiles worked fine again, while even getting new missiles did not solve the issue. As far as I know though, this shouldn't happen. If the aircraft is misaligned and the INU thinks it's 200ft to the east of where it actually is, then the missile should get fed the same false data and be correct in relation to the aircraft and thus the target. Instead the missile seems to magically know it's correct location, but getting the wrong target data from the aircraft. Or am I confused here? What's going on exactly?

correct as is FLIR medium zoom slew speed seems way too slow
FalcoGer posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Particularly the medium field of view seems extremely slow when compared to the medium zoom TV. Or maybe the TV speed is too fast. The medium FOV slew speed for FLIRis approximately 3.4°/s when the TV's slew speed is 12°/s, but the TV is zoomed in more (~5° TV vs ~6° FLIR). You would expect a more zoomed in view would be less sensitive (slew slower) than the less zoomed in view. Here is some data This is the absolute time it takes from boresight to the right limit with max deflection on the man trk controller. Wide Medium Narrow Zoom TV N/A 10s 176s 348s FLIR 3s 35s 67s 196s This is °/s, given that the TADS max limit is 120° °/s Wide Medium Narrow Zoom TV N/A 12°/s 0.68°/s 0.35°/s FLIR 40°/s 3.4°/s 1.8°/s 0.61°/s The field of view is approximately this. °/FOV Wide Medium Narrow Zoom TV N/A 5° 2° 1°(?) FLIR 30° 6° 3° 2°(?) When translated to fields of view per second, or perceived slew speed, you get this FOV/s Wide Medium Narrow Zoom TV N/A 2.4 0.34 0.35 FLIR 1.33 0.57 0.6 0.31 The numbers seem to be all over the place. Sadly I can't find the actual FOV values in ° so I had to measure using in game waypoints. In case you wanna watch me slew the tads around for 15 minutes (I used time compression), here is the track. If someone has the correct FOV in ° for the different zoom stages, feel free to let me know and I will recalculate the values. The timings should be accurate +/- 1s SlewSpeedMeasure.trk -
need track replays Badly desynchronized waypoints on MP
FalcoGer posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
When flying on a busy multiplayer server (hoggit), the waypoints entered by me as PLT would not show up at all or be completely mangled for the CPG. The CPG's points seemed to be mostly OK, but would also sometimes come back garbled. For example 38TLP would turn into 38K. I forgot what the minor grid was after that, but it wasn't right either. I could not reproduce the issue on a locally hosted server, so no tracks, sorry. It happened with two different CPGs and even after a server restart in between. I didn't restart my game between those sessions though. -
reported Pilot ejecting in air behaves odd
FalcoGer replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
I didn't say it was incorrect. I said it was odd. -
You can eject in the air by opening the canopy and then pressing the eject key 3 times (LCtrl + E). The pilot will then jump out the helicopter without a parachute. He will also forget his rifle. The pilot may bounce off the rotor blades until he slips through or slips off. Pilot will be unharmed The pilot will then gently float down to the ground in a sitting position The pilot will stop near the ground and do a climb down animation from nothing The pilot will then spawn a used parachute behind him after he stood up FloatingPilotEject.trk

Since the latest OB patch, infantry that is damaged appears to be taking a smoke break. Their cigs appear to be 100% tar though. Very unhealthy. They continue smoking after they take a nap after a few more 30mm to the face.
