  1. Pretty sure I was close enough. I tried at 10nm, then 6nm and even 2.5nm and she wouldn't lock. Mavericks armed, uncaged, you name it..
  2. Hey all. Not sure if this is a bug or not or just user error, but I am fairly confident in my use of the Harrier. I've been trying to fly a night missions against a column of tank using the TPOD and AGM 65G's. Spot the tanks, uncage the MAV's, hit the IRMV key and my TPOD and MAV crosshairs are slaved. Now, the MAV will not lock the tank even with gentle repositioning of the cross hairs. I have a hunch this is because the 'G' model MAV is not suitable for night use? It just seems bizarre as the heat contrast against the black night is full visible in the seeker head... Help...:cry:
  3. Its a great map, especially for ground attack aircraft. What I am wondering is if they will ever flesh it out a little more. Like fill in the Turkish border or the Armenian areas with more roads, settlements etc. If we had this map in high detail out to the Caspian sea to the east, it would be a jaw dropper for all the scenario's a person could come up with!!:thumbup:

  5. Hi BD, great missions by the way. One item I found was mission 19? Night operations. It seems to me the cloud cover is too low to perform the requested actions. The flight instructor requests a 10,000MSL altitude and for the waypoints 3 and 4 all you can see is hazy cloud cover through both the NVG's and the FLIR. I wasn't able to spot the Harrier at WYPT 4 to formation fly with as I believe he must be flying in the cloud cover as well. Maybe something to look into? Or I may be doing something wrong as well..
  6. Not to get this thread too off topic. But speaking of GAU-12 ammo. Has anyone heard if we are going to be able to change ammo mixes with this gun? For some missions it would be nice to be able to load a HEI mix or maybe straight AP. I haven't been able to find anything on the subject. Thanks...

  8. Hey Hardcard, I am just getting around to trying your script. Thanks again for producing it. I am really green at working with them so I am a little unsure of how to input it into the editor. Do I use the first portion of the script as a LUA predicate in conditions and then use 'Do Script' with the action portion of your script as the Action in the ME? Like I said, uber scripting noob, but i'd like to learn more so I can up my mission making game. I've got some pretty good ideas for some campaigns etc.

  11. Sorry Florence201, not trying to hijack your thread here, but I was wondering if Hardcard could answer a question for me that is slightly similar? I am trying to create a condition for a trigger where the condition checks for a certain fuel amount which would activate the action (for example a radio message etc). Is this possible with some kind of script? I can't seem to figure out how else to do it in the editor.
  12. I've noticed some AI planes doing this recently and also air to air missiles that have run out of steam and are drifting to impact with the ground. They just seem to sink under and keep going...must be a by product of one of the last few patches.:huh:
  13. I fly it every now and again. Once some of the long standing bugs get crushed I would probably use it a bit more or perhaps get into some serious mission building with it. It sure is a treat to zip around in compared to the A-10C:D
  14. I am also working on some stuff for the Su-25A, namely a campaign set in the early 90's Caucasus. No ETA yet, but I've got a few missions done and tested. Hope to be able to share sometime soon. :thumbup:
  15. I run the stable version and prior to this latest patch I applied mirmidon's fix and got the lights working properly. Now for some reason the files appear as they should - ex: AV8_L1.tga.dds AV8_L2.tga.dds -but I have the problem with the goofy looking lights again.
  16. Agreed. I hope to see this added in the future. It would be nice have to have heli's parked on the side and the main deck open for harrier's to come and go. But to get back to the OP's original issue, what I do in the mission editor is set my 2 ship harrier flight in parking spots 3 & 4. Seems to give enough room for those heavy takeoff's.
  17. It sure does. Go into game options (the one at the main DCS start screen) and change the map coordinate system to UTM's from Lats/Longs. That way in the mission planner before you launch you can mouse around on the map and it will show which zone you will be in. Jot it down and away you go!:thumbup:
  18. I've been using a crappy old Iphone as my kneeboard, squinting into the screen haha. These are way better!
