  1. Just finished the campaign about an hour ago. From start to finish I really enjoyed it! Great work & thanks again. Well worth the price in my opinion
  2. In my experience for every mission it has been to do all your startup stuff and end with the 3 autopilot switches (*pitch roll heading). I haven't had a problem yet getting takeoff permission.
  3. I'm sure this has already been added somewhere down the line, but the ability to get a lasing unit to lase a target without the use of scripts or the JTAC commands.
  4. This is a good point, im thinking about the old Falcon 4.0 Korea map and with all of that urban build up properly modelled in DCS you'd have gaming rigs spontaneously combusting across the world. I know all I'd be left with is a molten pile of goo on my desk lol
  5. Really enjoying the campaign so, missions are simple yet challenging. In my opinion, one of the best out there for the shark. Thanks for the hard work creators!
  6. I've been giving this philosophy a try and I have to say I like it! I used to jump around with modules all the time and sort of sucked at all of them, but I've been sticking with the Ka-50 again and I am going to this whole month. I can already see my level of skill with it improving way more quickly. Thanks for sharing this idea.
  7. I just finished the second mission without trouble and so far I quite like this campaign. So far it is just the right amount of challenge for me. I appreciate the work the creator put into this one! Thanks Armen
  8. Very true. I think I'll start going back to the A-10 just because of this thread
  9. I also used to be almost exclusively a Hog and Black Shark guy, but I've found the Harrier from a systems point of view easier to jump back into from a long break than the Hog, which seems to keep me going back to it.
  10. You can do this currently, just de-select the external mounts option in the armament screen before a mission and you are completely stripped down to just the bird itself.
  11. You know the F would be awesome, the W would be cool and what I would like to see but you are right. The F has a lot of potential!
  12. Ahh gotcha. Damn internet, a person makes one slight in a sentence and someone is on them . That's cool you worked on them tho, couldn't ask for a better bird in my opinion.
  13. You may want to check into the AV8B Day attack versions performance in Desert Storm. It actually had kick ass ground attack capability, there are several books on the topic in fact.
  14. Thanks, never thought to try that, I'll give it a go.
  15. This bug has been going on for awhile now but it seems there is only one cold start position for the Huey on the Tarawa deck. Several patches ago(might have even been more than 6months) we could select from one of the 4 helo start positions on the left side of the Tarawa deck, now regardless of which parking spot is picked the Huey always starts at the bow of the ship. Not sure if this is the same with the other chopper modules as I only use the Huey. Bug or something that has been overlooked?
  16. I've had this same problem with various mixes of helicopter and fixed wing aircraft as well.
  17. Darth Vader in your cockpit during wartime hey? Man, times are different.
  18. The cost of each aircraft is definitely one of the main reasons I think Forbes came out with this article, not to mention the cost of the whole program. When you consider most modern conflicts have had juiced up 4th Gen aircraft dropping JDAM's on irregular fighting forces (cave dwelling jihadists) it seems crazy to think you need something like the F-35 to do that. I don't know the fine points on this topic I'll admit, but who's to say in 5 years radar advances won't make the F-35's stealth capability useless and you would have been better off developing a 4th Gen Plus low cost mass manufactured light jet like the F-16 and spent your development money on better jammers and 'bolt on tech' to make them effective in the off event you have to face a peer fighting force. Just my two lumps of dry dog shit...
  19. Hey there, anyone here had any experience with giving their joystick a static shock and having it be inoperable? I was hoping there might be some magic fix on one of the boards in the base but the joystick is completely dead now and won't turn on. I also see on their website that electrical discharge appears to be something not covered under warranty (still waiting for word back from them). The stick is a VKB Gladiator NXT as shown in the thread title, anyone with any solution or suggestion would be much welcome, thanks.
  20. Its a cool plane for sure, I have more of an interest in the cold war type stuff, but incredible to think how far flight has come in 100 years!
  21. I just tried this mission a couple days ago and yes its still doing this. I wish the Dev would chime in to confirm this is known? I really enjoyed working my way through this campaign and its come to a dead halt for me once again. I guess I could just skip the mission but so far I've had issues with 3 I believe so far, I'm going to skip the whole damn thing at this rate..
  22. Haha! You were right, I thought I was paying Canadian should have payed more attention I guess. So yes plus a 29$ customs fee on top of everything else it ends up being 300$ CAD ish.
  23. Sorry I can't give you more of a firm answer, but in the book 'Desert Storm Air War' there are several references to the A-10 pilots having a difficult time at night due to the NVG's they used being limited in the early '90's and the fact that the only way they could acquire targets was using the AGM-65D seeker infrared seeker head as a poor mans FLIR which was like looking at the battlefield through a straw. Maybe some one more knowledgeable can help, or there are some better books on the subject I haven't read but I would think the majority of their missions would have been day time attack.
  24. Hey jonatron5, why don't you have a look at the VKB joysticks. I just purchased a Gladiator NXT to replace my TM16000 and the premium was 150$ CAD. They look like a pretty solid stick and from what I've seen they are fairly modular and you can get accessories including extensions etc. Just a thought..
  25. Either of you guys fly whirlybirds? I'm northwest of Edmonton but I am usually flying the Huey or the Harrier. I own the 16 but I am waiting for a bit more features before I go full bore into it
