Ok then. Is it because you are flying it in high threat enviro's where helicopters would not be used or whats the deal? When I fly the BS in as close to real helo conditions as possible it seems quite up to the task. If you are going to just sit and hover like an Apache at Karbala of course you are going to be a target. High speed low level attack and egress.

I just got rammed by the UH-60 trying to sling the cargo in. I am thinking the AI triggers need some work on this one. Kind of sucks flying all that way and while you are transitioning to getting the cargo safely on the ground, BANG!  As of right now, this campaign and the stock UN one are both in rough shape from the recent patches.

Mission 1 First task trigger not working?
Gunnar81 replied to Gunnar81's topic in UH-1H Argo Campaign
Got it to work, here were my parameters for anyone else having issues. I have to land within the center of the apache's and crowd, but as close to the airport terminal building as was safe. I was also facing out towards the sea. The trigger worked within 5 seconds of me having the chopper like that. I am now onto Mission 3, so far great campaign, really enjoying it! -
Mission 1 First task trigger not working?
Gunnar81 replied to Gunnar81's topic in UH-1H Argo Campaign
I tried it again parking inside the crowd area and setting the throttle to idle and waited over 5 minutes and nothing happened. I am pretty sure I have the engine idling with it turned down all the way before using the stop switch to shut it off. Anyways, not sure if this is me doing something wrong or the misson. -
Can confirm this bug. I was just playing this mission tonight on the latest OB build of the game.

Mission 1 First task trigger not working?
Gunnar81 replied to Gunnar81's topic in UH-1H Argo Campaign
Thanks for checking into it for me John. It must be an open beta issue, good to know it works in stable tho! Maybe with tomorrow's OB update the issue will be fixed  -
Hi guys, I posted this in the bugs section but no reply. Is there anyone that could test this for me to confirm? In the current open beta I can't seem to get the minister to get in the chopper trigger to come on? I land in the center of the Apache's, C-130 and crowd and even idle down the engines but nothing? I'm thinking there should be nothing else to this unless I am missing something.:music_whistling:

Hi, In mission 1 I land at the CH-130 and nothing happens? I've tried landing east of the apaches, north of them towards the terminal building and I get no trigger that anything is happening? Anyways, I know I am in the right area but for some reason this part of the mission doesn't seem to be working. Could someone try confirming this for me? I'd really like to fly this campaign but the first task of the first mission is stopping me! LOL!

As a counter point to this, the original ammo loadout was nearly useless against infantry and soft targets with the exception of a direct hit. The current ammo loadout was the most commonly used from 2001 onwards so it is an accurate reflection of the general use of the GAU-12 in actual combat. That being said I strongly agree with an ammo selection tab much like the A-10C and the F-16C so the user can enjoy whatever they want. Should be a simple add in I would think?

Right on guys, figured it was an OB issue. Thanks a lot, I will patiently await the next patch which will hopefully fix this up! Great campaign by the way BD, I normally ground pound and this one is a good way to get a bit more comfortable with A to A for sure!

Hi BD and others, I am having something weird happen with Mission 12. Right at the start of the mission the Army truck that is supposed to pull up between the Eagles swerves and parks right off the nose of the players F-15! haha! I've tried cranking the steering to get around it but he's too close and the wing ends up clipping on the truck. I checked the editor and the waypoints are set where they should be in between the two jets so I am not sure what it making this happen. Can anyone else confirm? Could be a small OB glitch from the latest patch?

I hope the 'upgrade' is actually a fully modeled A-10A circa 1991 when piloting skill made it a show stopper during the Gulf War. A total regression into the past! No modern systems, an advanced binocular spotting simulation instead of a helmet mounted display, no gun recoil assist, just pure unadulterated ground attack without all the extra trash! That'll get this thread really going somewhere!

This appears to be working again with the latest OB update.

Never even thought to do that. Thanks! You sir, are a god damn genius!

Hi guys. I notice that after the last few Open Beta updates the sound folder doesn't seem to have any .wav or .ogg files anymore. I used to use the 'radioclickafter.wav' file for any of my campaign or mission texts as an audio cue for the player as I don't do voice acting. Does anyone have this file handy that I could download or know of a similar type sound of a radio mic clicking? I am kind of S.O.L. unless I scrap my open beta install and re install stable all for a 1 second sound byte haha .:helpsmilie:

[INVESTIGATING]Encyclopedia background is black and not blue
Gunnar81 replied to EpicCG's topic in General Bugs
I believe its a bug from the latest Open Beta update. -
This is absolutely right here with the propeller disk. For a bit of a 'feel' set of directions I often find when I am lining up that the basket should be closer to your cockpit than you think safe haha. That is when I seem to have the most success.

While I don't know about specific capacity I do have literature during the Gulf War that states that the AV-8B used the Mk-20 Rockeye quite extensively so that would have to be included into the list of stores, unlike the data on that chart. But I wonder if someone else would know if those stores shown add up to a rough tonnage that was historically carried?

Totally agree.

While I totally agree with your statement, just to play devils advocate...The F-35 would in fact be a very simple module for ED to simulate and would take little away from their upgrading of the core program. Build a 3d model and cockpit (so mostly texturing work) and then have the plane have no user interaction at all much like the actual plane itself. In fact, this business model of simulating newer 5th gen aircraft could be a huge financial boon to ED as they slowly ween user interaction out in favor of autopilot and AI routines taking charge for the 'meat in the seat'! Never again will you have to experience SAM evasion or the barbarity of a dogfight as you stealthily infiltrate every known air defense network and the pre programmed mission profile delivers your ordnance for you as deftly scroll through your Taylor Swift albums on the high def MFD's.

Like the above folks are saying, you need to make very small adjustments to the rudder while taking off. I find the F-15 to be one of the harder aircraft to keep straight at takeoff. Keep practice and you’ll get it

I churned out a couple of campaigns for the Harrier that are no where near the quality of BC or Sedlo, but were more projects I was working on while fooling around with a few ideas and learning the basics of the editor. They won't blow your hair back but they'll give you some hours to jot down in your log book at the very least :) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?set_filter=Y&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=501&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=Gunnar81&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter

It is a wonderful jet for sure. Its a nice change to have to dive in and get down and dirty with all the ground fire trying to get you versus dropping guided ordnance from 20,000ft. A great compliment to the module is Osprey's book 'Su 25' units in combat'. Great read on how the Grach was used in Afghanistan in the 80's and Chechnya in the 90's. Made me appreciate the jet even more.

That was my issue, not confirming the preset coords in the 3 fields. I was just waiting 8mins and not getting results. Thanks for step by stepping this out, problem solved.
