This is absolutely right here with the propeller disk. For a bit of a 'feel' set of directions I often find when I am lining up that the basket should be closer to your cockpit than you think safe haha. That is when I seem to have the most success.

While I don't know about specific capacity I do have literature during the Gulf War that states that the AV-8B used the Mk-20 Rockeye quite extensively so that would have to be included into the list of stores, unlike the data on that chart. But I wonder if someone else would know if those stores shown add up to a rough tonnage that was historically carried?

Totally agree.

While I totally agree with your statement, just to play devils advocate...The F-35 would in fact be a very simple module for ED to simulate and would take little away from their upgrading of the core program. Build a 3d model and cockpit (so mostly texturing work) and then have the plane have no user interaction at all much like the actual plane itself. In fact, this business model of simulating newer 5th gen aircraft could be a huge financial boon to ED as they slowly ween user interaction out in favor of autopilot and AI routines taking charge for the 'meat in the seat'! Never again will you have to experience SAM evasion or the barbarity of a dogfight as you stealthily infiltrate every known air defense network and the pre programmed mission profile delivers your ordnance for you as deftly scroll through your Taylor Swift albums on the high def MFD's.

Like the above folks are saying, you need to make very small adjustments to the rudder while taking off. I find the F-15 to be one of the harder aircraft to keep straight at takeoff. Keep practice and you’ll get it

I churned out a couple of campaigns for the Harrier that are no where near the quality of BC or Sedlo, but were more projects I was working on while fooling around with a few ideas and learning the basics of the editor. They won't blow your hair back but they'll give you some hours to jot down in your log book at the very least :) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?set_filter=Y&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=501&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=Gunnar81&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter

It is a wonderful jet for sure. Its a nice change to have to dive in and get down and dirty with all the ground fire trying to get you versus dropping guided ordnance from 20,000ft. A great compliment to the module is Osprey's book 'Su 25' units in combat'. Great read on how the Grach was used in Afghanistan in the 80's and Chechnya in the 90's. Made me appreciate the jet even more.

That was my issue, not confirming the preset coords in the 3 fields. I was just waiting 8mins and not getting results. Thanks for step by stepping this out, problem solved.
-
Ok, so I'm not the only one then. I can't seem to get the INS to work right either, I wait the 8mins till align is flashing, flick over to NAV and steer point info show all zeros for heading and distance.

If ED made such a thing there would be plenty of places that we could put them in the mission editor. Hell maybe if this happens we could even get a sand colored FARP/runway for the PG map so there doesn't have to be a manicured grassy lawn in the middle of the desert :music_whistling:

Maybe once the supercarrier module gets released all the carrier logic stuff will get fixed regarding the Tarawa as well.
-
Can confirm. Harrier ramp starts do in fact start the mission in the F10 map mode with no way to control the aircraft even when it is designated as 'player' controlled in the mission editor. Its that simple to reproduce, no track file should be needed.

So, I'm able to get the trigger to work if I take out Cargo Unhooked in Zone and just use unit in zone conditions with an alititude condition for the cargo unit as well. I'm thinking the Cargo Unhooked condition may not be working at the moment.
-
Hi All. I've searched some of the older threads on this but I am not sure if this is currently bugged so I thought I would ask here. I am setting up a simple mission for the Huey. Pick up some 'UH-1H' cargo with the 'cargo' checkbox clicked on. I then want to drop it off at a trigger zone. I've assigned the Cargo Unhooked in Zone with the correct cargo I am hauling and the correct zone for drop off but when I do so I can't get the trigger action to come on, in this case a message to the player and a flag. Is there some other parameters I need to put into conditions, trigger etc to make this work? It seems like it should be very simple...:(

Agree with this right here!

What an exciting newsletter. Thanks ED for everything so far and what we have to look forward to

Mission 14 (Odessa) repetitive crash at landing
Gunnar81 replied to zarostar's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
I did create the initial waypoint and then flew at the bearing stated on the radio comm, but yes I never though of using the TAD in a more intelligent way. Thanks BD, and goes without saying but your content, campaigns everything is just excellent. Looking forward to your Harrier stuff  -
Not to sound overly obvious, but also make sure you've chosen a winter month in your mission date. I believe November to February or March will allow you to choose the snow and negative temperatures options

Mission 14 (Odessa) repetitive crash at landing
Gunnar81 replied to zarostar's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
Sorry, can't help you there. I am on this mission as well, but I can't seem to find the yacht! I have found and accidentally attacked a couple of patrol ships, but wasn't able to spot the target vessel yet...:music_whistling: -
What a Great Campaign!
Gunnar81 replied to SignorMagnifico's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
Such a great campaign. I have been picking it up and putting it down for several long months now but something happened and my A-10 abilities have improved to the point where I am rocking through the missions. Its such a great campaign for learning how to be an efficient, cool and calm butt kicking pro in the Hog! Thanks for this BD and Merry Xmas! -
Merry Xmas guys, thanks for the Harrier. Loving the little jet.

Couldn't have said it better. I also fly it almost exclusively and find it to be great. The title of this thread almost made me go blind reading it...hurts my soul :megalol:

Just my experience but I have often found with the A-10C, if I forget to have my stick throttle in the idle position or do any kind of physical throttle changes on the stick before the engines have started it seems to screw up the engine start procedure. I generally make sure my throttle is at '0' before I even fire a mission up or I know I'm going to be sitting there twiddling my thumbs during engine start with nothing happening. Hope this helps...:joystick:
-
You are right, it is. I am fully to blame...I've been playing the A-10C a fair bit lately and forgot the difference between the two MAV target locking procedures...
-
Ok the TDC DOWN part is what I think I was possibly doing wrong. I typically just use the DMT when I use MAV's and its just a simple matter of slewing over the tank and it locks on. I'll give your method a try with the TPOD, thanks.
