[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
MarcT-NL replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Right ! AFTER uninstalling SSA I found this in the registry under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Tracing: under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\FirewallRules I found ...and a few more of these. Under Computer\HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-147794890-503004180-716123516-1001\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache I find and these: The X-drive is my NAS. I installed SSA once from my NAS, but that wasn't a good idea, Under Computer\HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-147794890-503004180-716123516-1001\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FeatureUsage\AppLaunch: Under Computer\HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-147794890-503004180-716123516-1001\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FeatureUsage\AppSwitched: Wellll..... I found 12 more occurences of "simshaker" !! This was AFTER deinstalling ! So I don't know what kind of de-installer this is, but it's not working. So what do I do ? Delete all of it from the registry ? -
I have had mine for about a year I guess ? I use it every single day for several hours. It always worked fine, however one motor in particular made so much noise that it breaks the immersion a bit, but I'm used to that by now. Talked to Andre about it, but there is not much he can do. Sending stuff back and forward to Russia is about as expensive as buying a new seat. Until last week, when suddenly Simshaker for Aviators doesn't start anymore (no errormessage, just quits) and I found out that two of the motors under my leg (= one channel) don't work anymore. So that's the trouble. What am I going to do about it ? Andre might be an OK guy, but doing business with Russia is frowned upon these days. And besides: I can't just bring it in for repairs. I don't understand why just one russian makes these things. Why can't I Just buy it in European stores ?

Yes, that is how I did it Yes, but how to find out ? The main question is: why did it work fine, but suddenly no more ? I didnot install any updates or so. I can say that DCS pretty often causes a Blue Screen of Death. I already cleaned the whole PC a few weeks ago, reinstalled Windows 10, updated all drivers, redownloaded all of DCS and all tools. This whole PC is only for DCS and it's tools like SRS, VoiceAttack, Scratchpad and SSA. Nothing else is on it. So maybe another BSOD corrupted some files ? Windows-files ? DCS files ? Who knows ? -

Oh wait. The is a folder in my documents called SimShaker for Aviators. OK, I have de-installed SSA, and delete this folder in my documents. I restarted the PC and re-installed "SimShaker for Aviators Beta Installer v2.3.13". Mind you Windows gives my messages about untrusted software and I have to click YES several times before it will install After install I start SSA Beta, but same problem: the icon appears in systemtray, but app quits immediately. There is no new folder in my documents. I don't get it. It worked fine for over a year, Could this have anything to do with 2 motors not working ? -

So what's with the SSA ? Today I noticed that the jetseat wasn't working anymore. Upon inspection it seems that SSA doesn't load anymore. Everything was fine yesterday... When I click it, an icon appears in the system tray, however, when I hover over it, it disappears. So the programm has already quit without taking away the icon. I donwloaded the last version (beta) and installed it. I lost all my profiles (:(), but the JetSeat worked again (exept for the motors under my left leg I found out !!) Five minutes ago, again the same software issue. It runs and quits immediately without any message. Always worked fine before. About the motors, I opened the Jetseat, but no lose wires and no visual problems on the controller. -
Kind of. My controlboard is covered in plastic of some sort. But yeah, the bottom-left motors (there are 2 of them) don't do anything anymore.
-
Following. I just found out that the 2 motors on my left leg aren't working anymore. I have looked inside, I see nothing wrong. No loose or broken wires, no visual damage to the little controlboard.

cannot reproduce Could there be a memory leak ?
MarcT-NL replied to MarcT-NL's topic in Bugs and Problems
Wait, are you supposed to set your pagefilesize to 16GB or to the amount of memory you have installed ? I have 32GB memory, but I was told to set the pagesize to 16GB. No freaking clue why an enduser should have to do that kind of settings, but here we are. Also, I read somewhere to put your PCI to GEN3. Same here: users should not have to worry about those things. It is in the BIOS, under advanced. There you should find PCI-settings. It normally is set to automatic, but I could also set it to GEN1, GEN2 or GEN3. Again, no clue what I did, but I set it to GEN3. I still have the occasional BSOD. Alsways memory-related yes. But normally I can fly hours and hours. Most of the time it crashes when a MP-server reboots, or I switch planes too often. When it crashes, it will be whilest in the AH-64D. Just saying. Right, after re-examining met pagefile settings it seemed that I didn't set the pagefile at all ! It was still on automatic. I used the image below to set it, but right at the end you have to press [SET] it appears... So fine. I did that now and set it to 32768. And yeah, as I understand it, you only have to do this on the drive your Windows is on. I also have Windows & other tools on C-drive and DCS on D:. -
Yes, same goes for loading a profile. Click once on the profile you want to load, than manually remove .diff.lua and it will load alright. This is just lazy programming. I'm sorry to be so blunt. It tells me that DCS is a spaguetti-mess inside. It's the reason that with every update we get new bugs that never were a problem before.

Niehorst: this is not only in the Apache, but it is in every module since the update. It wasnot fixed in the last bugfix sadly. But it is a topic in the DCS-World bugs:

Could it be possible to have the George-interface not latched ? Maybe make it an setting, or different bindings, because some people might just want it to be latched. But I was thinking that you could use the UDLR-buttons for George also for other functions. Now, in the heat of the battle, we have to switch on the George-interface, issue a command or two, and switch the interface off again. If the G-Interface was not latched, you could just press that button, use the UDLR to issue the cammands, and let go again. There is always a shortage of physical buttons on the HOTAS you know, so we must be economical.

resolved DCS 2.7.11 - VR cursor persists too long
MarcT-NL replied to Raven (Elysian Angel)'s topic in VR Bugs
Hi. Sorry to ask, but what did the VR dev's say ? The universe is a bit disappointed that this wasn't fixed in last bugfix. -
You use OvGME to save a profile ? I do that in DCS control-options. I just clicked "Save profile as..." and in the fileselctor clicked on the already exising profile. It didn't give me an overwrite-warning, When I looked later, I saw that there was a .diff.lua file as wel as a .diff.lua.diff.lua file... Tried the same with some other modules. Same result. I have spent last week rebinding all my mods (don't ask) I always save them. I always overwrite the existing ones for throttle, stick, etc. So today I didn't do it differently. It just puts an extension after an already exisiting extension.

Hi. Could we have axis-bindings for the searchlight ? And make the searchlight a LOT stronger please.
