I personally am making varying lengths of wire for the switches to reach the location of my input breakout boards. The DB25/ribbon cables just hook up the boards to each other. Connection to the PC is USB.

I have to retract my previous statement. The simped pedals do have independant differential breaking. They are force sensors rather than pots. It may just be me but Im having a wierd problem that I didnt have with CH pedals and that is a calibration issue with Windows where it detects the neutral position and makes it the center of the axis instead of one of the extremes on the axis when brake is not engaged. I found a way around it during calibration by using garage tools to physically center the brakes when it asks you to center them. Im not sure there is a way around that since they dont provide specific 64bit drivers for them and I use a 64bit OS. I think the 32bit drivers they provide may have 3rd party calibration tools for it. But at least I got them working.

I havent had a single landing that resulted in damage yet, at least that wasnt intentional, including with no engine power. Definitely seems easier than I anticipated, but the handling is way more real than FC. As far as ground handling goes, I had a little trouble the first time but quickly learned to make VERY small rudder corrections and Ive been fine since. Takeoff has been no problem too but almost every time its a little unpredictable like its not balanced and needs trim or sometimes it seems like I hit air pockets or wind sheers cause the plane will jerk or one wing makes a sudden dip. Notice it over mountains too.

Not sure what you mean by that. But with Blackshark the instrument panel appears to come out of your screen toward you. The screen surface is on the same dimension as your front windshield.

What's so Great about this sim anyway???

I was wondering if that was possible and than I was like, nah they wouldnt do that. -
I tried the 1st 3 training missions and got no voice over at all. Every mission Ive tried in fact that had text didnt have any voice over. I figured it just had not been done yet. The first two missions did nothing. No text. Cockpit buttons unclickable. All I could do was look around.

I will say this sim makes me feel like Im in a plane much more than any other sim out there except maybe X-Plane. The systems are very complicated and I still am barely figuring anything out. I did manage a takeoff without problem and landing did not end up in a wreck despite a flameout situation on both engines. Not sure why it happened. After I expended all my ammo I decided to do some inverted flying over the target practice area and half way across both engines still died. Had plenty of gas. Much to learn in this sim. Also the GAU-8 effects are just no words can describe. It actually startled me when it first went off. Not used to using dual stage trigger and couldnt figure out why nothing was happening when I squeezed the trigger, but after awhile the first time it went off I nearly jumped. This thing makes me leave with smiles on my face. My pit needs work and my hotas cougar is feeling inadequate for the job. -
Ok I went there and the site looks exactly the same to me other than the russian version below the english. I dont see anywhere specific for posting beta stuff

You guys moved my thread and now it says I dont have permission to view it????

Not for me. My torrent is dropping under 10KB/s

Even if you had less than 512MB dedicated video ram the game would still run. In the event of not having enough video ram, the system will have to use main system memory to make up for it but would still run.
-
Dude your fine. Video reqirements of 512MB are for running at high resolutions and max detail.

I have cable internet capable of 10Mbps and the files are downloading at 50Kbps. Estimated time 13.6hrs. This is gonna suck.

omg omg omg omg. Cant believe it. Didnt think Id get a stab at this till Christmas time. I almost in tears. TYVM ED and Wags. Your my heros.

As much as I wish I was, I am not a real pilot. I hope to be someday if I can ever afford it. In fact other than some stick time in a few small aircraft, I havent received any formal aviation training. Most of my experience is in simulators and several instructional books.

Because I never learned how. I learned to watch airspeed and keep a glide slope.

Entertaining to see people cancel preorders over less than $5
-
yup. they dont call it the warthog for its sexy good looks and sleek styling.

Having a 400page printed manual would probably up the cost another $50, especially if its a color copy. If you want to pay for that go ahead, but a lot of people would rather read the online version over forking out extra money.

I just hope I dont have to fly with aircraft using metric on its guages. Like many other people, I have an idea of how fast 10knots is but no idea what 10km is. Sure there are conversion charts but I dont want to have to do real time conversion in my head when Im trying to land.

If I recall it took between a 10-15fps drop when I used mine but I was still getting about 20-25fps. Having a decent video card will help. Again that was before the latest patch so I dont know what is using the current version so it shouldnt be as bad since the last patch helped fps a lot..

Dunno where you get that idea from. I used a 65" DLP tv. Nvidia will be supporting any of the 3D tvs on the market.

IMO some of it is exagerated but each persons perspective is a little different. In theory you are only receiving half the amount of light because at any one given point in time part of your eye is covered. That said, Im sure everyone has looked at a rotating fan. The faster it goes, the less you can see it and despite the fact that the blades cover half or more of it's circumferance you can see right through it and if you didnt know any better, you might not know there were blades spinning. So yes you do lose some contrast but imo, not nearly enough to just dismiss it. With the exception of the hud being rendered close up rather than appearing to be far out which causes problems when your trying to target a vehicle, (I heard this was fixed with the last patch but I dont know since I no longer have a compatible display) I personally found 3D to be breathtaking and enhance the feeling of flight by 100%. I also found the flicker to be so slight that it didnt bother me. But other people have different opinions and expectations so all I can really say is that you have to try it yourself and make your own decision about it. Everyone else's opinion on it is rather subjective to their own tastes.

perhaps but not so obvious in a sim where you can't feel your aircraft slowing down. A lot of times in the past when I played sims, especially FSX, there were many occasions when I couldnt figure out if my brakes were extended or not. I had to just watch my airspeed closely to see if I was slowing more than normal or not.
