  1. Yes, you can trim out the forces. Having said that, some implementations leave a lot to be desired. Ideally, at full pitch up trim, the stick would be near or at full deflection forward, and same for all the other axes. But in some modules it seems like the "trim zone" is so narrow that trimming by feel is not very effective since the stick will only move a small part of the travel when trimming. It really depends on the module. Or maybe this is realistic to those airframes? I'm not a real pilot so I wouldn't know. It would be nice if implementations were more uniform or tweakable. There is a 3rd party utility called simFFB that allows you to trim the full range of each axis, and with that you can definitely trim by pulling/pushing on the stick and trimming until you feel no more forces. Downside being you lose all game-specific effects.
  2. There are other realistic effects provided to fixed wing beyond stuff like rumble. Pitch trim of course. But more importantly, the tension in the stick will change depending on how fast you are going, which really aids in immersion. Not so relevant for FBW planes, though.
  3. Considering they made a ton of changes from youtuber feedback, customers will end up getting a better, more polished product (at least in theory).
  4. Really strange how long it takes to ship to Europe. Can't remember exactly how long mine took but it was definitely under two weeks to Canada. Couriers are weird.
  5. I found the layout of the table in the manual a bit hard to read. I made this kneeboard-ready one that's laid out nicer: Might find it helpful. It does omit a couple of the more obvious controls to make some room. I'd try and focus on one thing at a time. For example, learn all the HUD related binds first. Then move on to TGP, and so on. Basically learn a column in the table. That's how I went about it.
  6. Hmm, I did the resistor mod as well to double power. Are you saying you don't get full potential of the mod without PSU replacement? The PSU in the stick is internal right, so I guess you had to modify or replace the PCB?
  7. Damn, so I guess you're putting some monster motors in there? Sounds very interesting already! Can't wait to see more.
  8. To piggyback on Harlikwin's post, being able to use at least a moderate (~12cm) extension would be a must for me.
  9. Someone on reddit told me that it works in DCS now a few weeks ago. Don't have one myself and I can't find a definite answer in a Google search so I dunno how accurate that is.
  10. There is a high end one: https://www.brunner-innovation.swiss/product/cls-e-joystick/
  11. Yes, I've seen the mechanism. It can't be shorter, but it can be less wide and long.
  12. It is awesome, but removing the switches and reducing the size would reduce costs both parts and shipping, and would probably be easier to use with other mounts. It may not be as awesome but I bet they would sell a lot more of them.
  13. I guess you didn't see the interview with Wags: https://www.mudspike.com/mudspike-ama-with-eagle-dynamics-senior-producer-matt-wagner/ Belstimtek was basically ED all along.
  14. I think if they made a lower cost throttle with a smaller footprint and the massive panel gone, they would sell like hotcakes. That mechanism is where the money is.
  15. Just bought the module. Get these stutters when rolling/pitching. I don't think it's fps related because even with pixel density 1.0, very low settings, and locked 40 fps ASW forced, I still get the stutters. No other module does this for me. I don't say this lightly but this honestly makes it unplayable :( edit: nevermind. should have used oculus tray tool from the start. seems I am constantly dipping just below 40 fps which is probably causing the stuttering.
  16. I'm on Mission 7 and really enjoying the campaign. The world feels so much more alive than many other campaigns, and I like the little attention to details like your crewmates leaving the chopper to inspect something suspicious, etc. And the best thing about the campaign is that it solves the issue I had with other helo campaigns which is too much dead air while flying from A to B. There's always some radio chatter going on in this one which keeps things from becoming boring. Definitely the best Huey campaign available. Great work!
  17. Unlike most graphical settings, these can be adjusted live in game, so you can try for yourself and see how the framerate changes. iirc, ground clutter has negligible effect, while trees difference can be significant especially past 80%. I really hate tree popping, so I use medium visibility with 100% trees.
  18. After playing around a lot when I got my JetSeat, I found the most important thing is to have your engine rumble a bit lower than the other effects or it will overpower everything. I usually set it to 75, and everything else to 100. Gunfire effects are a bit weaker in some modules, and can also benefit from reducing other effects to compensate if you wish. Everything else after that is personal preference. I like the effects to be as strong as possible, hence 100 for most.
  19. m.2 is just the form factor. There is m.2 SATA, and m.2 NVMe, and yeah the latter is faster, but only in sequential read/write, which isn't what we typically do when gaming or during regular desktop usage. Random read/write is more important and NVMe drives are not much faster. I can't tell any difference between my NVMe and SATA drives apart from benchmarks or transferring very large files. He's better off getting a larger SATA SSD.
  20. You're spreading a lot of opinion as fact. I regularly play VR for a whole day on the weekends, taking breaks to eat and stuff of course. As for adding a virtual stick, you are new to the game, so you don't understand that there is a list a mile long of things people REALLY want out of this sim, and that discourage new players much more than lack of a virtual stick (no save function in a scripted campaign!) so few people here will ever consider a virtual stick a priority.
  21. Overclock your CPU. 6700k should be able to hit 4.5-4.6 pretty easily. Single core performance is very important in DCS.
  22. See my post here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3969939&postcount=21 I'm sure that's what it is. It's not documented anywhere that I can tell (except some forum post I dug up somewhere), but virtual brakes did not work until I did that.
  23. Coming in 2030 :D Seriously, this would be great though. I'm not too crazy about the Brunner's size, price and lack of DCS support. Would love a VKB FFB stick. Not replacing my MS one until I find something better.
