  1. The only other experience I've had similar to this is when two controls have accidentally been mapped to the same axis. DCS then seems to slam from one mapped control to the other. Any recent hardware changes? I'm not currently flying the MiG 21 so can't help you there.
  2. If you view the track file externally can you see the controls deflecting? I recently had some rudder pedals fail and got this sort of thing. You could see the control surfaces moving.
  3. Yep, my mistake. I put a "winky face" behind it to convey "joke" but I'm very bad at internet. I just edited it out for clarity. Actually, Indiafoxtecho could probably easily answer all my questions on the complexity of multi-platform releases. Maybe they have and I haven't seen it.
  4. That seems to explain my experience. Most aircraft ok, but In a few the cockpits just appear too big.
  5. Make DCS more attractive/accessible to 3rd party developers Preamble: I’m not a businessman. If I were in charge of ED they would be bankrupt. I’m not a programmer. If I tried to write a “hello world” that program would crash the global internet. In no way do I grasp the real world difficulty of moving an asset from one platform to another. So… It would be nice if DCS could be made more attractive to third party developers. There is a great deal of exciting military aircraft development being done that is not making its way in to the premier military flight sim: DCS. Tons of high quality military aircraft are being produced for an environment where you can’t even shoot! Granted what is considered high quality over at brand X would need continued development to add weapons systems, add a damage model etc. But, it seems like so much of the work is already done; in terms of research, 3d models, textures, sounds and systems. There must be a business case for the incremental income of publishing for DCS. An incredibly non-comprehensive list of fun toys I want to have: - Aeroplane Heaven - Grumman F3-F - AzurPoly - Fouga CM.170 Magister - Big Radials - P40B Tomahawk - Carenado - Cessna 337 Skymaster (Military variant O-2) - FlyingIron Simulations - P-38 Lightning - Just Flight - Hawk T1 - Sim Skunk Works - TF-104 Starfighter Whatever the road blocks are that prevent these developers from publishing for DCS, they seem worth addressing.
  6. Does the B-25 qualify? I'm definitely up for a "strafer" variant of the Mitchell.
  7. Thanks for the input guys. Been playing with IPD. It's been yielding some results.
  8. Don't forget to make the A-10A full fidelity.
  9. Thanks for the tip! I didn't know that is what that does. I'll try it out. It's not all aircraft where the scale seems off however, and as I recall Force IPD is a global setting. Only a few aircraft cockpits seem out of scale. As in this case F-86=I'm small, MiG-15=I'm a big boy now.
  10. VR perspective feels off. The cockpit seems too big on Valve Index (contrast with mig 15 that feels spot on). Also default head position seems low.
  11. Supercarrier Upgrades - Carrier wake improvement - More yellow shirts marshalling you (especially out of the arresting gear) - System for distributing supercarrier crew technology to third party developer products e.g. Forrestal, Tarawa ++ - Supercarrier comms for Tarawa - Bring Kuznetsov up to supercarrier standard - Russian crew on Kuznetsov - Chinese and Indian carriers - Planes for Chinese and Indian carriers - Shenyang J-15 - MiG-29K - WWII Carriers + planes - Actually, just lots more carriers, from everybody, with the appropriate aircraft. - Deliver the promised Stennis upgrade - If features need to slip focus, on topside improvements - briefing rooms or ready rooms etc. should come dead last.
  12. It would be nice to have the option to display wind in knots in the Mission Briefing weather panel. The correct wind direction is provided (in spite of having to enter it 180° out) but speed is only reported in meters/second (in spite of having entered it in knots).

  13. Correct aviation winds in the ME would be a very welcome improvement. If you know you're setting up for a mission off runway 27 you type in 270 rather than fiddling with a little arrow.
  14. DCS VR Debug tool? Where do you get that?
  15. Voted indifferent but would happily accept (and pay for) the NS430 install. The actual GARMIN GPS Map 495 is interesting and would make far more sense for most DCS aircraft as a pop up since it is a portable unit in real life. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/14751
  16. Not sure when it happened, but whoever at ED fixed the divert page frequencies THANKS!
  17. It would be great if ED would slap a big fat 16 on the side of the Kuznetsov, call it the Liaoning, and categorize it as Chinese. Very useful on Marianas map. Even better if a proper model of it was made.
  18. Good find. The problem does seem to be mirror related. Also the boxes do not appear to be random. I jumped in the pattern at Vaziani and consistently got flashing black boxes in the flair as depicted in the video above. Mirrors off and no black boxes.
  19. Thanks for the help with this. Get flashes right around the 4:50 mark just at touchdown.
  20. Same problem here. After updating to 2.7.9 (23 Dec 2021) started getting random black squares. RTX 2080 Ti Ryzen 5600X 32GB Win 10 Pro Updated to the latest nvidia WHQL drivers (497.29) and did a "Check all files (slow)" DCS repair. The attached track is not great but the boxes do appear right at the end in the landing flair (no idea how to fly the Viggen btw so the track is a total embarrassment). black boxes.trk
  21. Great. Also hilarious given the discussion above. Does anyone know if the same multiplayer restrictions apply to Kuznetsov 2017 that apply to the American Supercarriers: "...if you do not own the Supercarrier module, you will not be able to spawn on the deck to takeoff or catch an arresting wire to land." I can't check because it's already installed.
  22. Agreed. Now that it was included in a paid module it would be pointlessly disruptive to carve it out and give it away. A side effect of having made such impressive quality improvements in the sim over the last 10 years is that some assets have been left behind. Yes, I do think that assets will occasionally need to be updated to fit the advancing quality of the sim. ED made the business decision not to charge for the baseline sim so some of those improvements will necessarily be for "free". For example the current S-3 and the SH-60 need updating, The quality difference between them and modern assets is jarring. They actually detract from the experience when placed on deck. You and me both brother. I'm not advocating for free stuff. What I am advocating for is a very high quality sim.
  23. Yep. Free, included, the baseline quality standard for the sim; however you want to characterize it.
  24. Great find! That would be a very cool option.
  25. +1 From a multi-crew perspective this looks much more engaging, especially in the front seat. Tried the current version in multi-crew the other day and both of us found it more exhausting than fun.
