  1. +1 Having AI trap grades pop up when you are a hundred miles from the boat makes zero sense.
  2. Fair point. Agreed. Still feel like the Stennis/Kuznetsov 2017 level of models are a better fit for baseline DCS considering the very high quality of current modules. Including the 2017 and deprecating the the old Kuznetsov (while keeping it available for mission builders) would help address some of the very uneven model quality developing in the sim. Also, please tell me you don't have a bunch of missions featuring the Carl Vinson
  3. Seems like the 2017 Kuznetsov is roughly Stennis (non SC) caliber modeling and should be part of the baseline sim. The original Kuznetsov and the very outdated Carl Vinson reflect poorly on the rest of the great work being done in DCS and should probably be deprecated/pulled. I would definitely pay for a Supercarrier level Kuznetsov (Russian crew, martialing, gse and comms), but that would need to come alongside a full fidelity red air carrier aircraft.
  4. The ball on the Kuznetsov is very tough to see at current brightness value.
  5. +1. These models are definitely showing their age. They are distractingly outdated. It's almost embarrassing to have them on deck next to more modern assets (generally try to hide them behind a Hawkeye). The S-3 is particularly disheartening since you have to fly close formation with it for extended periods in order to tank. It would be much appreciated if they were updated as part of the Supercarrier Package.
  6. It would be nice if the default frequency presets for the R-828 were all moved down one notch, with 59.9 MHz being moved to Channel 0. That way your briefing can say "Set R-828 to button 5" and that would get the same result (30 MHz) on all three aircraft. As it stands now the Mi-24 has all the same frequencies as the Ka-50 and Mi-8 but they are off by one channel.

  8. The Displaced Threshold lighting at Adersen AFB appears to be modeled incorrectly. It is currently modeled as elevated lighting and should be "in runway" inset lighting. You are supposed to be able to taxi on those surfaces.
  9. I think I got it working by using the LUV HMMWV Jeep (instead of the M1025) and the Truck M939 Heavy (instead of the M818).
  10. Running in to the same problem. Vehicles appear to be ambient temp with no contrast at any boat switch setting.

  12. Thanks for the response. You are correct; items in the ME personnel and in structures subcategories can be placed on the Tarawa. Additionally, the "Airfield and deck equipment" subcategory contains Super Carrier specific GSE that can also be used. What I was hoping for (feature requesting) was the return of the bespoke yellow ground service vehicles that Razbam created specifically for the Tarawa. These assets have already been created by Razbam and it would be cool if they were made available as static objects. They are distinctive in photos of the actual ships.
  13. Sorry, not getting it (total newb). I'm in the mission editor now and I don't see a Supercarrier props category in static objects. Don't know what iirc is.
  14. With the removal of the Tarawa baked in static objects in a recent update we lost all the GSE yellow gear. Those items appear in all the LHA reference photo's I've seen. It would be great if the various vehicles (fork lifts, tugs, etc.) could be made available again as static objects in the "Airfield and deck equipment" category.
  15. Sorry guys this turned out to be a waste of time. "Air Brake Button - B" which deploys brakes only when held down is effectively the neutral button. If it is momentarily clicked, with the animated rear cockpit switch in either position, the brake switch drops in to neutral when released.
  16. In my options "F" is "Flaps Flight Position". I'm trying to get the rear cockpit Air Brake switch back in to neutral after use (so that the front cockpit can operate) My options only have: Air Brake Button - B Air Brake Switch - CLOSE - LCtrl+B Air Brake Switch - OPEN - LShift+B No neutral? With CLOSE and OPEN bound the throttle switch the animated rear cockpit air brake switch remains in the last used position even when the button is no longer pressed. It has to be mouse clicked to get back to neutral (returning front cockpit control).
  17. Exactly. Rear cockpit air brake neutral key bind. You can manually click it to the center with the mouse but i cant find a way to map that to my throttle air brake button.
  18. Anybody know the key binding for air brake neutral? I can't find it. If the instructor touches the air brake the front cockpit is locked out. Background (DCS L-39 manual page 55): In the rear cockpit this switch has three positions: forward (air brake retraction), middle (neutral) and aft (air brake extension). Important: The air brake control switch in the rear cockpit is a command one. The air brakes can be controlled from the front cockpit only if the rear cockpit switch is in the neutral position
  19. The reflections look really rough in 2d as well, especially the rear cockpit. At least the huge baked in helmet reflection in the rear cockpit has been changed.

  22. I'm guessing you're right, but not having to edit the .lua for basic features is still on my wishlist. Or maybe it's part of the new cyberwarfare module for DCS where you have to learn to be a programmer to play.
  23. +1. Would like individual UP/MVR/DN flap keybinds available in the stock aircraft. It seems pretty weak to require editing a .lua file for something as fundamental as flaps.
  24. +1. If this were an air force aircraft this would be annoying, but I wouldn't worry much about it. For a carrier based jet you need to be able to see the AOA indexer.
