HMS Gloucester in rough seas. Points to note, HMS Gloucester's funnel badge was an actual shield shape, but the 3 other ships in this class had a round funnel badge, also HMS Edinburgh had hers mounted on the funnel, and not on the gantries like her sister ships, but for simplicity all are the same shape and location.... I'm away to Thailand on vacation next week, so looking at pushing this out when I return, she's definately going to be released in 2024.

HMS York in bad weather... think I'm almost done with this Destroyer, messed around with the SeaDarts, if I use the default, they hit nothing and detonate 3-5NM from the ship. Using Beldin's code which is basically the SMR2 with the seadart model, it's deadly.. Now......it's a big mod due to textures (1.5GB) so the ED file location isn't going to cut it, so will need to find a decent file hosting site, that's not going to cause any issues. There was only 4 batch 42's for the Royal Navy, all represented here. HMS Edinburgh HMS York HMS Manchester HMS Gloucester

How many real F15E's have you flown to be able to make a comparison that the module in its current form isn't still very good fun to fly? it still does EVERYTHING that it does from the day it was released, so whats not to enjoy in its current state?

Arg 50 hides the pilot, it's easy enough to do, set the invisibility at 50, and he/they will dissapear

I think I'm going to bin the lights along the superstructure, as they shine through the model, into the sea, and I'm not happy with the way they look, and I don't know enough to be able to make "soft lighting" I will also revert back to what crazy eddie has said, and keep the basic Nav light system, with coloured lights on the mast, although I do believe there's a light set for launching and recovering aircraft which I may do ..

It can be as kool as you want, this is about the A7E the SLUF fans don't care about rotaries

Pretty poor anology, the F15E has the engine, it has the wheels, all it's lacking is the ehnacement addons. It's excatly as described upon release... the exact same as if you went to a car dealer and bought a car. IF the car dealer stated that over a period of time, you'd get a spoiler, low profile tires, fine tuned engine, and have the car wrapped, but the car dealer has temporary stopped providing any sort of service, then youd be more accurate.

Removed the Nav lights from the rear mast, and removed a couple of night time red lights on the flight deck. The picture attached is to showcase the CIWS work well, and the night lighting has been subdued, I might make a full set of red low level lighting when the ships doing air operations. I'm not sure the distance from the ship that the disembarking helo closes down the flight operations (fences and rails/flight deck lights)

I purchased it from CGTrader, it's quite detailed, and quite high poly too, but for aesthetics it works quite well. No intentions at the moment to do so, as it's in a much larger personal modern Helo pack that I've created.

With regards to the Seadarts, Beldin had a missile configuration using the SMR2 performance, but used the Seadart model, it's accurate, it's deadly accurate, compared to what it was, detonating 4.3NM from the ship, I might just keep it even if it's less realistic, but it's operational.

Some lowlight shots, first time I've tried to put flood/decklights onto a vessel, not sure if they will stay or not, as I feel they need to feel and look "softer"

I have been working on the Type 42 this week, and tidying up a few things, and trying to add a few more things, like working lights etc...and for this I need some help. Does anyone know how the Navigation lights are configured on the Type 42 ? I've also had a wee setback, after editing the damage parts on the lua, for some strange reason, the Seadarts have stopped firing, I think I might know why, and it's related to the damage parts, my laptop crashed so wasn't able to use Ctrl Z to undo, I might have a copy of the old lua elsewhere. Seadarts - semi working, however they detonate at around 4 miles from launch, and don't seem to track, before I borked it, they were able to track up to 15 -20NM from the ship and have about a 30/70 success hit rate

Wondering if there is a MAKO mod

Yeah, should be more specific really ! -

Just an update, been a bit busy with real life, but the Sea-Darts are still behaving erraticly, as are the Sea-Wolfs, the sea darts are too inconsistent, often detonating 3-5 miles from the ship, and before intercepting

Is this map now being updated and developed under Orbx now, as opposed to Razbam?
-
Yep, it was still doing that between 82-84 when I was based at Salamanca Barracks, Epi

So..........all is NOT lost... I had another online storage that I had forgotten about and all my source files were backed up there, so work shall resume on the Type 42 shortly, I'm a bit busy with real life work

On a new laptop the last thing I expected was a total failure and the HD having to be wiped and re-installed. all the recovery did was recover folders, not contents, the loss is gut wrenching, 5 years of work all gone. all my other game files that relied on c:drive not working. no sounds or network connection either having to do this on my iPhone. it’s not even recovery to what I purchased it’s as basic as it comes. don’t risk it Joey, buy storage if you need to but back up EVERYTHING. I can’t even get DCS working just now

Well .... the news wasn't good, the files that I thought were recovered were not, and all of my 3ds Max source files are gone, too much lost to even contemplate modding again, way too much time and effort has been lost, and at my age, I really don't want to start from scratch again. Sadly, the Type 42 will no longer be. @Beldin has a copy of what was being worked on (edm's) but not the source files, if he feels up to it, and thinks it's good enough to release then he has my permission to do so.

Warranty voided when I installed a second SSD for DCS world. Now to the potential good news. Repairs called me yesterday, and said the issue was down to RAM, and that I should have the laptop back today(wed) and that the files I requested to be recovered if possible were all recovered, won't know for sure until I get the laptop back
