  1. From the ones with more than 100 votes (top 7), all are done or almost done except AG radar. I think the hornet is in a pretty good state right now. In order of most votes: ATFLIR Targeting Pod HARM Air to Surface Radar A/A Radar TWS/RAID/AZ EL/LTWS - coming this month Joint Helmet Mounted Cuing System (JHMCS) Data Link (MIDS / Link-16 / IFF) - not complete but in a decent state Guided Bombs
  2. This guy did some interesting tests: I'm not sure how big of a difference it will be (perceptually) but I would go for the 1080p monitor if I were you - side benefit is that you can crank out higher settings. I have VR but still mostly prefer to play on my old 1360x768 42" Samsung TV because: spotting is easier, can run at nicer settings, and is more comfortable for longer sessions. If I didn't have this TV laying around then I would ideally want something like 55" at 1440p.
  3. Like because of disturbed airflow near the back of the boat?

    AGM 65F

Oh I didn't know this, thanks for the tip!

    AGM 65F

Pretty sure everything is as you say it is. You also have to make sure the screen with the mav on it is the Sensor of Interest (with the diamond on it). Having to hold the button while slewing is kind of annoying, but it is what it is.
  6. I think he's saying that the modeled behavior may be incorrect compared to the real plane. Probably a pretty low priority fix if it is though.
  7. I can confirm this works as well - thanks for finding it! I use vsync to keep trackir stable and before I would often come down from 61FPS locked to the low 50s, but now even online on large servers using Persian Gulf it is stable.
  8. Hard to be completely content, but imo they've done a great job. We have so much stuff to play with from WW2 and cold war stuff to modern fighters, attack aircraft, aerobatics planes and helos. We have VR, the performance is pretty good now and the graphics are some of the best. Everything has been steadily improving... considering that research and implementation is a lot more difficult than rehashing an FPS shooter for the 15th time, I'm pretty happy with where my money has gone. As for the cost - thank God we're not on subscription like iRacing. PMDG aircraft on civilian sims are ~$100, and does anyone remember the cost of VRS SuperBug for FSX back in the day (even without weapons in the beginning, plus no integrated environment where we can fly with other modules)? We're in a niche, so slow and steady is the best we can hope for really.
  9. Just in case, you are arming the counter-measures switch with the light coming on, right? (all the way back on center console right side, next to weapons arming). Have you tried the flare dispense button above that panel?
  10. Personally I do think that they might be releasing modules a little too early in the development phase, however they do also have the core game to work on, whereas third parties only have to work on their individual modules. That said, imo they've accomplished something pretty awesome over the last 10 years - back then, even having all these great modules online together was just a dream. Have to be patient, lots of things are being worked on: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116893 We might not always agree with ED's way of doing things, but I never got the impression that they are just slacking off lol.

    Defog crank

I imagine it's more like car windshield defogging - that is, removing condensation from the glass rather than improving visibility in actual fog. I don't know if it's functional in DCS.
  12. I think this is what you're looking for (custom snap view): https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/Cockpit_Views#Custom_Snap_View.28s.29
  13. Great tutorials, I would be interested in more of them having just picked up the Huey! Sounds like you know your stuff and the speed of teaching is about right - explaining everything without dragging it on to be too slow. The only helicopter I tried before this was the Ka-50 and the UH-1 is so much more stick and rudder - very interactive experience. Nice to be low and slow as well for a change - can appreciate the ground detail of DCS, which is better than any other flight sim at the moment (except maybe coming FS 2020).
  14. You have to bind Request Aircraft Control in your input options. These might be of interest: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=161276 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217669
  15. Ah now I understand what you want out of the view function. Well then one solution I can offer you without any software is to bind zoom to the "E" knob on your throttle, which has a "center spot." Then, when it's there you will know you are at normal/initial zoom. I personally haven't messed with the view *.lua's but I think the one you're looking for is here: \DCSWorld\Config\View\SnapViewsDefault.lua As the readme in that folder indicates, don't edit that directly, but copy it over to your Saved Games DCS folder instead. Aha I see, yeah that's definitely not normal. Have you checked your difficulty settings and made sure everything is set to simulation (not game mode)?
  16. You have to alt-tab and change the curves on the trackir software.
  17. Do the AP and FBW BIT tests. After landing it comes back on, for that you need to retrim to T/O, double-tap AP standby.
  18. For your zoom issue, I expect you are looking for the controls "zoom in slow" and "zoom out slow" if you want to bind them to buttons. If you want them on an axis (slider or rotary) then in the controls window click "axis assign" on the bottom and set that knob/slider to "zoom". I have an X52 as well and it sounds like maybe you have a deadzone problem, or perhaps your pitch controls are assigned to multiple controllers if you have more than one selected. Are you sure that under the axes section, the X52 is the only controller assigned to "pitch" and "roll"? If you search for "set up usb game controllers" in Windows and click on properties for your X52, does everything look normal there when testing? It could also just be a trim issue as Cytarabine suggested, maybe you have trim controls set to something by default which sets your trim all the way down and left or something. I don't have much experience with multi-monitors but you might get your answers here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60815 More recent:
  19. No feedback as such, but good to see someone doing this to make DCS accessible to more people!
  20. I recently bought the M2000 and am having a lot of offline fun with it, the training missions and campaign are both really, really good. If you have Nevada then the red flag campaign is equally awesome.
  21. As someone who owns the hornet (and F-14), while the crazy carrier ops and great BVR performance is cool, there's just something about the Mirage which is really fun. It can pull G's like an F-16 (maybe the flight model isn't perfect but it's fun), and I like the quirky avionics such as the way the autopilot works. The auto-ILS landing feature is pretty cool, and for the time period (before upgrades to 4th generation fighters), the S530 is a pretty good missile. Plus, the campaign is REALLY good, Baltic Dragon did an amazing job with it. I don't think anyone could be disappointed flying this plane. Despite being Fly-By-Wire, it has a lot of character.
  22. You should definitely learn how to tweak the profiles. For me I like to have the yaw axis to be very sensitive so that it's easy to look 180 degrees behind, but I like x,y,z to be closer to 1:1 for example.
  23. Any luck with this? My performance is pretty decent but always looking for more. If you haven't tried it by tomorrow then I'll give it a shot and report back.
