  2. I mean, yes you need to set the parking brake for alignment to continue (in all modes except CAT). That said, there's a bug I've experienced in multiplayer where sometimes alignment gets stuck and won't continue. Spawning a new aircraft typically resolves the issue.
  3. Calling the XTAL a ripoff isn't really fair. It's a small production run from a small company. HP is huge and has capital to invest in projects that may not be successful. I doubt XTAL is getting rich selling their headset.
  4. I retract my retraction. This isn't a problem with this particular livery. I think it's a problem with one of the LOD meshes. The seam is visible at the same distance for many liveries.
  5. I wouldn't take it personally I get the impression that valve is like that with everybody. Ultimately I'm waiting for the reviews. I don't care if it's from HP, Oculus or Valve, if someone makes a HMD where I can read all the instruments and spot aircraft, I'm sold.

  8. Completely misread, you're talking about the actual throttle. You're right, going to full mil power puts you in what looks like the AB range marks on the throttle, and that doesn't seem right.
  9. I'd had this happen a couple of times after a crash. Repairing my DCS install usually fixes it.
  10. So I kind of figured out how to make the issue repeatable. I have the AV-8B harrier and the F-14. I played with the F-14 off and on for a few hours and couldn't repeat the problem. Switched to the Harrier once and then hopped into the F-14 and it was back to the "two blips" for flaps movement instead of a constant vibration. I couldn't see anything in the logs with the sound module, they look the same as they did before. Other than OS background processes, the only thing running was DCS, Simshaker for Aviators and the Sound Module. Providing the captures just in case they can help. The logs were the same as before.   11. I believe I read that they've modeled the F-14A/PW TF30 engine panel in our Bs with GE F110s, so things with that particular instrument are not correct at present. It's supposed to be fixed.
  12. It happens in both VR and out. VR is limited to about 45fps, I have vsync enabled when I play on my monitor (so 60fps). I'm going to load up wireshark and see if I can capture the UDP traffic between the apps when I'm having and not having the issue.
  13. Someone exploded on the deck of the stennis next to me, I was powered down at the time. Repaired my plane and when I ran through startup again, had 0 hydraulic pressure. I assume the fluid is being modeled? Could I get them to put more back in when they repair the plane?
  14. So I'm still having the problem where the repeat sounds sometimes aren't making it over to the sound module. It doesn't seem related to any of my background programs. If I close and allow Simshaker for Aviators to restart (while keeping the sound module running) it tends to start working. I'm not sure why sometimes it's fine and sometimes it's not. Engine rumble works, but I notice it when I try to unfold the wings or engage flaps in the F-14.

  17. I've just been able to 'fix' the issue by logging out and back in (fully restarting my Windows session). I don't know why that works. Edit Ok so I've been able to fix the problem WITHOUT logging in/out. After experiencing the issue again, I quit DCS and closed simshaker. I then closed all the normal background applications including Logitech Gaming Software, NZXT CAM, MSI Afterburner, Steam and the Battle.net launcher. Started simshaker for aviators, loaded back into DCS, and everything started working normally. So it's one of those. My guess is it's NZXT CAM.
  18. This is completely normal. This flight controls will not stop you from doing something that will break the aircraft. Normal naval operational limit for the F-14 was 6.5g to extend the life of the airframe. Grumman claimed 9 to -5.5 should be possible. Realistically the airframe was only pushed to about 7.2g during BFM training. I wouldn't pull more than 8 personally. Once you hit 9g, you're exceeding the capability of the airframe. At a 28 degree AoA and pulling 9.3g well, what did you think would happen? At that angle the wings are fully loaded. Also makes a difference if you're full of fuel and how loaded the plane is. 9g on a 55k lb aircraft is a lot different than a 74k lb.

  20. Ok I got it to do it again this morning. What seems to be happening is that it's only playing the sample once at the start and once at the end of a loop. I'm not sure why. I'm extending and retracting the flaps. It seems to be something in the communication between SimShaker for Aviators and the Sound Module that's breaking down.   21. I'm not really getting one? The sounds just aren't firing. I turned on verbose logging, I'm not seeing anything stand out as a problem which is why it's strange. I should have been clearer when I said I'm getting an error... I'm getting unexpected behavior/failure but no logged error message. I'll do a full log capture next time I experience the issue.
  22. I'm having a problem with simshaker for aviators and the simshaker sound module. Coming straight off a reboot or a fresh login, everything works fine and I get effects like flaps going up/down. But after my computer has gone through a sleep/wake cycle and if I didn't log myself out, then I get an error in the sound module. I'll maybe get a single vibration on flaps movement, if anything at all. Other vibrations/sounds SORT of work like engine or g-effect but they are distorted or amplified. Logging out and back in, or rebooting fixes the problem and the vibraty goodness is back to normal.
  23. As long as they don't sacrifice any of the detail or FoV to meet a better price point. I don't necessairly need the eye tracking and automatic IPD adjustment.
  24. If you land on a carrier and shut off your engines, then go through a restart, you cannot realign. Seems to be related to Jester never shutting the Nav computer off when the engines are shutdown. Hopping into the backseat, turning the nav OFF then back to CVA allows the alignment to start and proceed normally. I can do this in single player but in a multiplayer situation I can't jump into the backseat to turn the nav computer off. Can you make sure Jester turns the NAV computer off when the engines are shutdown? He's also not great about turning his Altimeter mode off standby but that's his problem not mine :P
  25. It adds a little bit of that seat of the pants feel for things like buffeting, aoa and g force. It won't make you a better pilot but it will help give feedback to know when you're pushing the limits.
