Works yes, which is the problem. FXAA blurs everything, CMAA is designed to keep text sharp. https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/conservative-morphological-anti-aliasing-cmaa-update

The bright red light is the refuel probe light. Just created a fast mission at 20:30 in the persian gulf, spawned in, turned the lights on and popped the refuel probe.
-
MSAA performance impact even at 2x is pretty huge, getting native support CMAA available as a post processing anti aliasing option would be great.
-
There's a red light on the fuel probe that illuminates it, did you have your exterior lights turned on? It's in the game I've seen it in the exterior view with the probe door open. Master light switch enabled?

Running request - Bindable Button / Axis options
FoxTwo replied to maverickturner's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's been posted in separate posts, but wingsweep lever popup and axis would be a nice addition. {down = device_commands.WINGSWEEP_EmergencyLeverExtended, up=device_commands.WINGSWEEP_EmergencyLeverExtended, cockpit_device_id=devices.WINGSWEEP, value_down = 0.3, value_up = 1.0, name=_('Emergency Wing Sweep Lever Toggle'), category=_('Throttle')}, {action = device_commands.WINGSWEEP_EmergencySweepLever, cockpit_device_id=devices.WINGSWEEP, name=_('Emergency Wing Sweep')}, And for anyone using this now, this axis curve allows for the warthog friction lever 50% detent to move the sweep to 68 degrees. -
Why isn't this a client setting? Why do I have to be forced to have tooltips on when I don't want them on in a multiplayer setting?

You can tell jester to select a specific radar target in the radial menu. Like this, just as an example:

1838. Expect we'll be getting notices in the next two or three weeks.
-
It won't look any different than 32, other than having almost twice as much free and more allocated to cache. DCS isn't using more than 8-9GB of RAM in VR.
-
I don't know how much RAM you think DCS uses but you won't need more than 32GB right now. But if it makes you feel better...

On paper the Index has better optics, and a bit wider field of view. Also runs at a lower resolution, which may mean that aliasing will still be a problem and require super sampling/aggressive AA. Reverb has a much higher pixel density, but a lower FoV. Optics will be worse than the Index, but it's hard to say how much that will matter. Honestly right now? It's too soon to say which will be the better HMD for DCS. Neither are in the hands of consumers.
-
Just a bug, happens to me sometimes the tracking gets screwed up. Restarting steam VR/the game usually takes care of it. Make sure you've got adequate light in your room when you're starting VR and that your monitor isn't the primary light source.
-
The cost is one thing but the 2-3 month leadtime is something else too. Can't wait to see your personal review of it though. Pretty obvious that they're fairly bespoke, which can be both good and bad. Cost and parts availability being the biggest drawbacks. But you'll be getting (at least from all appearances) the best of all the current VR headsets in one package.
-
I can imagine never being able to run DCS in VR at 120fps. Honestly the Index is too rich for my blood. I hope it's good, but right now it's looking like this generation of HMDs is a half step. Small iterations across the board but nothing revolutionary. What needs to happen is someone needs to take the one thing from each of them - 180 degree FoV from pimax, high resolution panels from HP, high refresh rate and dual stack lenses from valve, inside out tracking from oculus - and put them in a single device that doesn't cost 4900 euro.

I was going to say I'm positive I've had a tire blowout and a collapsed gear at least once. Maybe twice. No more than that.
-
I just tried it to see if it would. Shutdown the starboard engine, disabled hydraulic transfer, waited for hydraulic pressure on the right to hit 0, then shutdown the port. No dice.

Brunner Force Feedback Joystick Base
FoxTwo replied to Mozart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you do end up getting one, you should really think about getting a video up of it on youtube. Right now all you can find are the yokes, nobody has one of the stick base. A comprehensive review of setting it up and operation - what it's like to use it in DCS or other flight sims, etc - would be fantastic. This goes for anyone with or getting the base. -
It doesn't appear to be a 100% of the time thing. http://cdn-www.airliners.net/photos/airliners/1/6/1/0819161.jpg

That is a characteristic of the TF30 A/A+ models, the B/D models with the GE F110 were parked as we see them in game.

Incorrect take off carrier Tute procedure
FoxTwo replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Bugs and Problems
Neither the audio nor the text for the Case 1 takeoff mission says to hookup then kneel. ["DictKey_ActionText_153"] = "You will have to carefully line up the aircraft with the catapult track to avoid any problems during launch.\ \ Line up the red marks on the side of the ship with your left shoulder.\ Once in position, in order to hook up to the catapult, you will have to kneel the nose-wheel by pressing the Nose strut switch downwards.\ \ Press U to hook up to the catapult. Once you are hooked up, the jet-blast deflector behind you will be raised.\ \ Press SPACEBAR to continue.\ ", -
I mean, yes you need to set the parking brake for alignment to continue (in all modes except CAT). That said, there's a bug I've experienced in multiplayer where sometimes alignment gets stuck and won't continue. Spawning a new aircraft typically resolves the issue.

Calling the XTAL a ripoff isn't really fair. It's a small production run from a small company. HP is huge and has capital to invest in projects that may not be successful. I doubt XTAL is getting rich selling their headset.

VF-142 CAG Ghostriders (1989) LOD texture problem
FoxTwo replied to FoxTwo's topic in Bugs and Problems
I retract my retraction. This isn't a problem with this particular livery. I think it's a problem with one of the LOD meshes. The seam is visible at the same distance for many liveries. -
I wouldn't take it personally I get the impression that valve is like that with everybody. Ultimately I'm waiting for the reviews. I don't care if it's from HP, Oculus or Valve, if someone makes a HMD where I can read all the instruments and spot aircraft, I'm sold.
