I like my buddy in the back, in both planes. Would feel lonely without him. Jester, I hope you know I love you, even if I yell at you sometimes.

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
Lt_Jaeger replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I think that would have something to do with a loose center. I have an old MSFF somewhere as well, and there the AP disconnect on occasion. With my Rhino I can keep the AP on forever. Let's hope the "AP dead zone" adjustment of the F-4 carries over to the F-14 as well. That should rectify a lot of dead zone problems. -
F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
Lt_Jaeger replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
It once worked, but got patched dead. One of these days.... Anyhow, even the times it worked, it was not very precise, so you might be better off to fly it manual all the way. -
So far I'm very happy with the design. Just made some slight changes. Printer will need to keep going though. One need a pretty big plate for the main handles

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond

ACLS won't work with FFB, there is a long standing bug. It will engage, but then the FFB stick will go hard forward and the AP will fly you right into the drink. -
Started printing, let's see how it goes.

You can achieve that "isolation" also with joystick gremlin. thats the way I did it. Pretty simple and no dedicated hardware needed

Hello, great work, one or two question though. Would it be possible to add the Black / white hot switch (No 1) as well, or is it possible to request a file conversion to fusion360 with the purchase to do it myself ? I'm not sure, but in the real thing, the side panes seem slightly slanted. Did you incorporate that as well in the model? The Throttle would be a great centerpiece and starting point for the left console. Having the throttle, I could figure out how to mount it and start from there to add the rest. And one last one for now. Are there any kinds of afterburner gates / stops or something like that?

That is for sure a highlight. I felt right at home, working in the past with a US made AD system which basically used the same press to test lamps, backlight caps, switches and so forth. Guess I had a bright grin on my face, dimming one of the lamps and seeing you got it so right.

My feeling might be off here, since I usually only tank the Tomcat, but if I recall right, the times I used a DCS module on the boom, it was filled up pretty fast. Today, in MP, we did a AAR. All 4 of us were pretty amazed how long it took to fill her up. I went with roughly 11k on the tanker, had two wing bags and it took forever to fill up. Is my (our) feeling off, or does it really take a long time to fill her up?

So you basically say, if I add some friction, I would be close(er) to the real thing? As Hiob said, friction can be introduced with a click or two in 10sec.

[No Bug] FFB force on x-axis much weaker than on y-axis
Lt_Jaeger replied to RealDCSpilot's topic in Bugs & Problems
I'm asking me the same question. From what I stumbled over in the heatblur discord, this seems to be a intended effect. Controls come stiffer coming airborne. Still feels "funny", but if this is what it was Waiting for a competent answer from someone who knows though -
Jester interaction wheel incomplete display. VR
Lt_Jaeger replied to ejaimes's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Quad view on pimax Crystal more or less kills the Jester wheel. Fiddling since download, can't find a good setting. That Jester question thing is also unreachable -
DCS F-4E Phantom II Release Date Announcement- May 21st 2024
Lt_Jaeger replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
That is just one drop too much for me. Given the late track record I'm angry at myself for ordering that Afghan thing from ED. The Razbam show made me step away from the Chinnok and the plan to buy the missing (only very few) modules. In the future I will avoid EA (not aimed at HB) and let my Credit card speak, or better, be silent. Really pissed right now, even considdering it is only a pc game -

DCS F-4E Phantom II Release Date Announcement- May 21st 2024

I want to "say" some very nasty words right now. You must be kidding me. -
The mounting. Already with the Rhino at its capacity. Yeap, Rhino scales down the possible max force in relation to the motor temps. It throws off muscle memory a bit if cut in, but it will keep going. "Emergency" kill switch is there as well. I use it as main power switch.

Rhino user. I'm happy with the rhino. My griefs would be that I would like to have more power available. Not really to apply it, but for "reserve". If I dogfight, after a while the fans come on (which I barely notice in VR - but they ARE loud) and keeping on fighting, the rhino gradually reduces force to keep temperature in check. That is great by itself, but throws off my muscle memory. During normal flight, I'm almost to the dot being able to pull 6g on my daily ride, without peeking at the "g-meter". That "feel" is reduced to save the motors from heat death and is balanced out by the software. What I don't really need is more force, since my VKB F-14 stick already starts to bend and squeak with the current force. There is some slight bending involved in the case but that is minimal. More though the main amount of "bending" is in my mounting solution. I use the monstertech mount to keep stuff removable. So all in all, the breast looks more beefy, but I would not know how to use it. Other than that, the software, especially the TelemFFB piece is king. Later is developed by the community and I got already 2 of my features requests implemented. So my conclusion without knowing the beast: I thought of getting one (beast) but would not sure how to mount / use it. It would just be for the build quality, materials and raw power availability. That said im very very happy with my rhino. With 90%of my flying it's spot on, no need for an upgrade. I feel happy in the VP force community and will not look around as long as I can't build me a dedicated simpit. If I do, I will re evaluate

Pimax Crystal - Is the battery a burden for DCS?
Lt_Jaeger replied to Dangerzone's topic in Virtual Reality
Battery sucks. That said, it is a non issue in DCS, at least for me. I do 3h Missions max and the battery charging indicator barely moves. So no big deal in this regard. I have the headset set up as delivered - with the PIMAX hub. It has to be mentioned, it is the second hub, the first one killed itself, but got replaced by PIMAX. Guess the newer Gen is better quality. Why does the battery suck? Due to weight and most probably turning on / shutting down software issues. Since I have the headset 5 out of 10 tries to shut it down properly are sucessfull, since the latest software update it is 2 out of 10. PIMAX is aware of this issue. The headset is by far not the most comfortable one, so adding more weight (I even use a 100gr additional counterweigt) is not something I dream of. I'm, besides the mentioned software issus, kind of happy with my crystal. Just using it until something better comes around, but that would most probably also need better hardware (4090 and 5900x already) -

Auto switch Joystick Gremlin profile from Stream Deck
Lt_Jaeger replied to scoobie's topic in Input Devices
I currently don't have much time, so onlya short explanation I call a batch file in "Rhino Telemetry". Something like that... TheGremlin_F14.bat batch file looks like this. The most important part is, that DCS gets back to focus. Could not manage a direct call of the next batch from Telem yet. Like I said, currently I don't have enough time to experiment and my "batch file knowledge" is very rusty at best. Which calls the batch in the Gremlin User Folder !RUN_PROFILE.bat , taken from OP above. For most of the planes I got a "Kill Gremlin file" which will stop Gremlin and some just load a default gremlin. So basically you can do whatever you want. I have basically a bunch of batch files starting my games to get a configuration I need. IL2 for example looks like crap in VR if I don't set back a couple of Pimax settings first. It all stinks, because it is definitely not plug & play. If you got more questions, shoot me a message, I will reply as soon as I find some time. -
Just love it. For me you are setting some Campaign benchmark here.
