  3. Double-pressing "MODE" is the first thing I do. Embedded in the muscle memory. I wish we could replace it with custom images, or that it could at least display the "draw" stuff from the Mission Editor.
  4. Заметил, что перестало работать на Вайпере, хотя глубоко не копал т.к. этим не пользуюсь.
  5. RWR kneeboard updated once again >>> Download
  6. Three new airfields have been added in DCS 2.7.17.29140 Open Beta - 24.08.2022: - El Calafate, Argentina - Puerto Natales, Chile - Puerto Williams, Chile No other changes, no new unmarked airstrips. Updated map and miz file in the first post.
  7. Different names for basically the same mode used to track stationary objects: ATFLIR calls it "SCENE" and Litening calls it "AREA". (Confusingly enough, Litening also has different mode called "SCENE".)
  8. So this age-old issue is back? Thought they've fixed it a couple years ago. Good to know!
  9. There is another problem. People new to aerial refueling are so eager to plug in that they unknowingly ignore most AAR procedures, forming bad habits that often stays. This is probably because the whole thing in DCS feel accelerated, and is usually simplified. I.e. the tanker is always nearby and full of gas, the TACAN always works, there is never a line, you get full tanks in two minutes, etc. If done by the book, catching the basket is only a tiny part of a lengthy and complex process that could be exciting and rewarding as well.
  10. Both effects serve the same purpose: to enhance realism with additional wind effects. I believe most people (seemingly including you) only complain because they (rightfully) think the burble is exaggerated. Not because they want one effect and don't want another. If I'm not mistaken, the "wake turbulence" checkbox was added mainly because disabling it can sometimes improve performance in multiplayer. Maybe ED should simply fix the burble rather than adding the second checkbox?
  11. It will depend on many factors, including what you do, what aircraft you fly, and how you fly it. The PG is 950x680 nm edge to edge in editor. And the SA is 1780x510 nm. When flying over the mainland, a typical trip could be 20-70% longer than on PG, with seriously limited divert options. When flying between the Islands and mainland (800 nm round trip), you will likely need to tank at least once. If not for fuel, then to prevent you from dying of boredom
  12. It's "Sensor Control Switch", or SCS. Pressing it in the direction of the FLIR display ("Sensor Control Switch - Right" in your case) toggles tracking modes.
  15. An average Hornet livery I have weight about 40 Mb. Tomcat liveries typically weight hundreds of megabytes. Knowing HB, Intruder's liveries will certainly be in the same ballpark. A decent E-2D livery weight 35 Mb. A S-3B repaint averages at 13 Mb for the current model, and will be much heavier for the new one. So, eight to ten squadrons per deployment, with CAG birds and helos, equals to at least 1 Gb. This is assuming we would be able to properly place all bort numbers and markings for every aircraft, and wouldn't have to resort to unique liveries. And all this would only cover a single carrier during one particular deployment handpicked by somebody.
  16. As a huge fan of carrier ops, I'm not opposed to this particular wish. It would be nice to have some existing skins upgraded to something prettier and less generic. I rather opposed to the idea and negative consequences it could lead to. People should be free to decide if they want to download something this huge. You're asking to take away this freedom.
  17. Please don't mix one-time PR stunts (Maverick) and skins bundled with modules (they try to satisfy everyone with variety) with the addition of a set of very particular liveries across wide selection of aircraft. Improving and replacing existing liveries is one thing. Enforcing dozens of fairly obscure skins upon everyone, so that the Navy community could enjoy their historical accuracy, is another. I can already hear further requests to include more squadrons for this carrier on that deployment. And then it inevitably spreads. Why bother uploading anything non-fictional to User Files if it could be bundled with DCS? I'm exaggerating of course, but good luck explaining to people how your case is different from theirs. You obviously have good intentions, but this could create a dangerous precedent.
  18. If I'm not mistaken, AI and ATC can only use one runway regardless of how many there are. This "primary" runway is marked with the aerodrome icon. Valid for any map and aerodrome in DCS, not just for Andersen.
  19. There are lots of advices, both useful ("clear you head and relax") and less useful ("don't look at the basket"), but what ultimately worked for me is increasing the curvature for pitch and roll axis. Go as high as needed (20, 30, 40, 50) until you can confidently keep behind the tanker and then plug in. Then gradually decrease the curvature. Rinse and repeat until you find the number you are comfortable with during both flying/fighting and refueling.
  20. It's not that hard to download a livery and ask your buddies to do the same if they also crave realism. Forcing everyone to download gigabytes of data likely useless to them is a bad practice. Because once started, this would never stop. Same reason why we don't have on-the-fly livery downloading in MP.
  21. Timestamped YouTube link.
  22. Fair enough. I'll add arrows in the next update.
  23. Like I said, I didn't watch the track very closely, and for some reason I had a map displayed instead of charts. Just saw him dialing in "102" and assumed runway 10.
  24. I didn't watch the track very closely, but Mount Pleasant doesn't have ILS on runway 10 that you've picked. Next time use runway 28. Edit: track added. MP_rwy28_ILS.trk
