  1. That's done it! Some-one is bound to add that to the wish list as a new module!
  2. Or maybe even the ability to do you own pre-flight inspection. Or is that what you meant?
  3. I don't want to argue anymore, but just ask a simple question. Take wake turbulence for example, it can be turned on or off. I have it turned on but if I decided to turn it off how would that effect other players? They wouldn't even know as I play SP.
  4. To any-one and every-one that I may have offended during the course of this thread please accept my sincere apologies I just get too passionate at times about things I love. For me I think it's best just to agree to disagree, be friends and get back to what we really love most, flying our favourite planes.
  5. @Jackjack Just one question, when you joined DCS did you spend 12 or 14 hrs a day just learning theory with the occasional flight for month after month with no breaks? I'll bet you didn't! If you did then I apologise, if you didn't then don't try to dictate to others how to play the game.
  6. Yeah they would actually need a new plane!
  7. Oh get real! It's you that needs to get real! You keep going on about realism so I hope next time you get shot down you stick by that and don't log on again. After all irl it would be a long time before you flew again if ever, or is that too realistic for you?
  8. Great! Now you're telling a large part of the player base to quit DCS, I'm sure ED will love that!
  9. Why are some people here so selfish. Just because you don't want something doesn't make it wrong!
  10. I think this thread is getting close to it's sell by date! For now ED should just concentrate on consolidating and bug fixing what we already have before even thinking of adding new features of whatever type.
  11. Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) 2.5 is a free-to-play digital battlefield game. From DCS homepage!
  12. What works for me is to drop gear at 250 then wait for the E-bracket to drop before lowering flaps (around 200 knts) then start adding a little power at 150knts. But most people will find their own technique.
  13. I too care for DCS and have just recently learnt to AAR consistently, so an easy AAR option would be something I wouldn't use, but I would still support it being implemented. The more ppl who join DCS and stay the better it is for everyone, and if it takes something like this then I say do it. It's not as if it's going to detract from any-ones game. And as for what's important, that depends entirely on peoples point of view, People who play MP would argue that time spent on SP is a waste, SP players would could say the opposite. We are are all here for one thing basically, enjoyment, so whether you are a hard-core realist or just a casual gamer we're all equally important for the future of DCS.
  14. "Magnum" is spoken over the radio to announce the launch of an AGM-88.[5] During the Gulf War, if an aircraft was illuminated by enemy radar a bogus "Magnum" call on the radio was often enough to convince the operators to power down.[6] This technique would also be employed in Serbia during air operations in 1999. From Wiki so don't know how accurate it is!
  15. Yes that is the default setting ie +5 degrees, although it can be adjusted using the HUD trim button. Maybe someone who knows more than I do can explain why or if pilots ever changed it.
  16. I can't remember where I read it but I seem to remember one Tomcat pilot saying if he ever had to use his guns it was because he had mucked up. It was quite a while ago so I may be mis-remembering!
  17. Thank You.
  18. If there's only one plane going to the tanker would it still have to go to the observation area or could it go straight to pre-contact?
  19. You also need to take in to account your vertical fov which is different from horizontal. From what I've read the horizontal fov for humans is approx 200 degrees while the vertical is approx 150. So for the most common aspect monitors(16/9) one of them is always going to be wrong. So for me I think what Draconus said is probably as good a way as possible. When I enter the cockpit the first thing I do is adjust 'til it looks right then don't touch it again. This usually ends up at around 75 or 80 degrees which works for me. Should have said 85 or 90 for Tomcat seems different for the Hornet.
  20. You have to "Salute" I'm not sure what the default binding is though.
  21. This guy explains it pretty well.
  22. Transfer Complete! In the Hornet. Words I never thought I'd hear, but I did cheat and used auto pilot. Just wondering now if this could be implemented for other planes eg the Tomcat, maybe activated by contacting the tanker. But I suspect this would have to be done module by module.
  23. http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-detail-refprob-10.htm I've never seen this in DCS.
  24. During the 1991 Gulf War some USAF tankers had a short hose and basket attached to the boom so they could refuel Navy planes. I'm curious as to whether this has ever been thought about being implemented at some point in the future. It's not really a wish as there are much more important things to do first. But for ppl who want as much realism as possible it would be a nice addition.
  25. I always set Jester to inactive when I go to RIO seat to stop him from changing things when I go back to Pilots seat.
