[NEED TRACK REPLAY]AI rubber banding offline
Bagpipe replied to Bagpipe's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Hi, It's hard to pin down as happens sporadically. It's not so much rubber banding as the AI flying at strange angles to maintain formation. I.e. They are on a bearing of say 000 and will bank 45 degrees left and then mysteriously fly bottom first at a bearing of 090. As if being dragged about the sky but not in a regular back and forth "rubber banding" way which you might encounter online. Experienced on both PG and NV map in F14 and Mig 21 both at high and low altitudes. If i ever manage to capture some footage of it happening i will post here. Unless flying in close formation or using F2 to view wingman you would never notice it. -
Mate....i just saw the changelog....thank you  Serious serious hats off to you lot, haven't even read anything else just saw all the new features for the Vigg.

The delorean can time travel and leaves flaming tyre tracks on the road man...:music_whistling:

:megalol::megalol: I like that analogy, will have to start syphoning funds into my private account so the wife doesnt notice when i do drop the hammer on it!

Get. This. Guy. A. Medal :lol: Now THAT'S a statement. Who knows, maybe i get a Viggen update AND a Tomcat for Crimbo!? :pilotfly:

I am considering finally buying the tomcat, cos why not you can never have too many modules not being learned right? However, i have vowed not to buy a HB module until the Viggen gets the promised update this year ( running out of time and not a peep on that ). Am i being too harsh on HB? Should i take the plunge regardless? Is it really worth the full whack? Will the A version ever arrive if i am still waiting for the viggen update which has been talked about for apparently almost 2 years now? Comments on a postcard please. :music_whistling:

[NOBUG] Viggen engine cuts off on start from runway
Bagpipe replied to Bagpipe's topic in Bugs and Problems
Seems fine now when i start on runway in ME. Another inexplicable anomaly of DCS i guess -
[ACKNOWLEDGED] Cockpit lights and screens dim after last update?
Bagpipe replied to Surrexen's topic in Bugs and Problems
Very strange, hopefully it is just a quick fix for us mouse users. I would also prefer an option in settings to choose between VR optimizations in the pit or not as making it too dark for non VR users to operate is entirely unfair. We are all paying for these modules, VR or not. -
I bought it a while back when everybody was hating the FM. I didn't see too much of an issue in flying, just turning and power issues initially. Flew it for the first time in maybe a couple months and the thing is so much more capable in dogfights now. You have to learn what its good at (climbing) and use it to your advantage and when you get it, it is pretty damn rewarding

Just a note to say how much i am enjoying the updated Mig. Really feeling alive now, was always fun to fly but is now fun to fight in too. I always struggled with the 4v4 scenario against the F5s but i just hopped in for the first time in a while and really enjoyed gunning down 2 of them. Landing makes more sense to me now too (at least in my head it seems to) as before it felt like i would drop out the sky just before reaching the runway when at lower speeds. Maybe i have just learned more since last time or maybe something changed but whatever it is it is a much better module these days for me. I hope you give it lots more love (and throw the "S" in for free :music_whistling: to early access backers)

Not a bug per se just one of those really anal things that i spotted. Really doesn't bother me one bit but might bother some so thought i would ask... Why do parked Hornets on carriers have the two chocks at rear but none on the nose wheel, while the player hornets get all 3? See image for reference. Taken after landing from Fortress Cherbourg mission (which the JTAC seems to only work some of the time on nowadays...)

I was having a number of serious issues until i rebuilt the saved games folder and updated windows 10. Not sure which one did the trick but DCS is performing up to 20% better in terms of FPS and not had any more errors since. I have a feeling it was the windows update to be honest, could be wrong though
-
So after rebuilding saved games folder and a small windows 10 update (was up to date 2 days ago i am sure), i am not experiencing the problem and also seem to have gained extra performance in game as now have sim running SSAA x2 and MSAA applied via Profile inspector to x2 supersample rate and am running at a solid 60fps Vsync as opposed to 45fps before doing so. So, whether it was a windows issue or just a buildup of conflicting files in the saved games folder, something has worked! Well chuffed lol

I've always just seen this as a quirk of the viggen (using keyboard braking here) tbh. It only happens when you apply the brakes too early without using other methods i.e. reverser to slow adequately before applying them
-
So... by my count we have just one OB update, possibly 2, left of 2019. Expecting to see a HUGE viggen update very soon?

** AJS-37 Changelog / Update Master List **
Bagpipe replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Can this thread be cleared up, i just came here to see what updates have been made since i last flew the viggen and, with all due respect folks, all i can see is pages of general chat which is miles off subject. Any chance a mod can clear this up to show official update notes only and move the rest elsewhere? -
Just hopped in for the first time in maybe a month, start from runway at Jiroft and twice the engine shuts off as soon as you enter the mission. I mean you just restart it but it is not normal behaviour. Anybody confirm? EDIT: Screws up the HUD aswell, still have waypoints but horizon line has vanished, pitch ladder thing gone and FPM rolls very strangely with aircraft (not in its usual manner)

[ACKNOWLEDGED] Cockpit lights and screens dim after last update?
Bagpipe replied to Surrexen's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes they are all dimmer in general and the curve when using the dial is very heavily top ended i.e. nothing until up full -
GPU is not OC'd no and on latest GR drivers from NV. I delete fxo and meta after every update and run repair etc. *Seems* to have sorted itself out now, another mystery. May be a driver issue. Strange thing is it only happens when loading and not in game when the gpu is being utilised...

On initial release the slap switch must have been linked to the presets as i have been using that until now. All good now though and working as intended. Very pleased with it

[ACKNOWLEDGED] Cockpit lights and screens dim after last update?
Bagpipe replied to Surrexen's topic in Bugs and Problems
I get what they mean by "No bug", they mean it is "As intended", man i've never been in a viper cockpit never mind at night but surely the flood up full is slightly brighter at least? -

They are also still causing a 10fps drop when on (see fps counter top left in screens) -

here is the same scene moments later with inst flood turned off completely. Not a huge difference at all. How can this not be a bug?
