Mig 19 needs to be remastered since updated flight modelling a while back, if you don't fly it constantly it catches you off guard, requires a lower, smoother approach to the runway than most. Mi8 is a home wrecker at times too. Spitfire is the same as mig, when i practice it is a piece of piss but without practice and boing-boing-boing...

Could just be that their are more active servers at that time. You can check the active servers on the main DCS website. Mine has always lagged for a brief moment when initially finding servers, don't know many games that don't to be honest?

That's not entirely true, take the front left panel where the M/A switch is. The two top switches use one method and the ones below use another. Not sure if it is just because the top ones are 2-way that probably either mouse click works. Either way it would be alot less work to remap one module instead of 10+ as someone suggested after you.

Yes, the Hotas X has this issue, the T16000 which you have i believe does not as it is a linear throttle as opposed to my arc throttle which has the detent in the middile to stop it swaying about. Can be annoying if the sweet spot is right next to the detent :thumbup:

Yeah at first i though it looked okay with Full, only first few squares were black with a slight transition but having tried limited it is far more noticeable. Hopefully this sorts out a few quirks i have been having recently since getting new monitor. Thank you

Feedback offered by Reflected Sims for warbird missions/campaigns right now is to always fly them with wake turbulence OFF. This massively increases FPS especially on the lagging Normandy map. The B17 mission started and gave me a rendezvous point but then just said Colombelle, which to me was like somebody i can't see poniting at something i had no idea where it was lol. Even like "Colombelle Steelworks - XXnm SE of Caen" or similar would do me better :)

Try dropping your preload radius aswell just for good measure 100,000 is a good setting for most

You need to run a repair. Failing that i am sure you could delete the map files from your pc and let DCS re-install them though the repair should fix anything without having to resort to that

Dude, the OP's question was can i get into DCS with just a basic HOTAS, the answer is always yes. As for twisting stick with helicopters? You must not be using the trimmer correctly. Watch real Mi8 pilots train in full sims, all you can hear is the clunk of the trimmer every few seconds when maneuvering

With the B17 mission i could use a grid reference aswell as a target name as i had no idea where they were headed to intercept for escort duty. good fun dogfighting the AI though

I never said it was easy. Possible in the Hornet and even more so in the Viper, Harrier etc are probably not gonna happen. Prob get the T1600 set with pedals for christmas but will keep ahold of the xbox one for backup, had so many great hours using it cannot complain

Man i fly with a cheap ass Thrustmaster Hotas 4 XBOX thing-a-ma-bob... Well you can see the modules i have in my signature and i can assure you i can land a mean carrier landing, air to air refuel, can fly any helicopters and the spitfire is no problem. I have no idea what amazingme is talking about above, for example. Although i would like a full setup of rudders etc i dont really have the space under my desk so a twist grip does me absolutely fine. The rest just adds immersion i reckon though if you CAN afford it and have space go for it as i will one day for sure!
