Has anybody got one of those dynamic gif things which count down to Christmas or New year and we can stick it on the forum here ticking down to 2020 to keep the pressure on HB to release the promised Viggen updates this year :megalol: I really hope this remains a joke and doesn't turn sour from the 1st January onwards....:music_whistling:

Hi Just flew the "Dawn Raiders" Walleye mission which was alot of fun using TOT and the new weapon. However, i flattened the target at WP3 no problem though this reflected on the map as only taking out 4 of the white flag markers. I scuppered my second walleye by releasing too late and overflying the target at WP4. Upon issuing the automated RTB call to magic it stated that target 2 (WP4) was destroyed as fragged and that target 1 (WP3) was undamaged. The attached images are screenshots of the F10 map just not long after the call came through. I could be wrong but it seems like the reporting script is round the wrong way for this mission? Anyway, really enjoyed it either way so keep 'em comin'! :thumbup:

Well...after 42 minutes of messing around, i managed to download an "Unlocker" app which although told me the file was not locked, managed to delete it during a reboot where i could not. Ran updater and repair and we seem to be in business again, i will let you know if i have any more crashing issues. Thanks for your support Newy

I have tried adding exclusion, disabling AV altogether, turned off firewall but still nothing. DCS is totally unstable now even after repair as it seems to crash with no trigger that can be pinpointed :huh:

Just ran updater with malwarebytes disabled and got the same instance. I haven't had a problem before, strange that it would start out of the blue?

Malwarebytes, but haven't had an issue before? I will try to turn it off and see if it updates EDIT: will run a full scan of system first

And this just happened when i successfully loaded into PG through ME in a huey, exited mission, loaded up a SAM template mission and the game crashed before i attempted to run the mission

Please note, i came about this after i loaded DCS this evening and attempted to play the dawn raiders Walleye mission which crashed multiple times on loading, having run a repair i noticed i had not updated so that is when i tried and failed as above. I have since repaired etc. and reloaded dcs only for it to crash when trying to load the huey in the ME. I get the feeling it is going to keep crashing until i get this fixed which is worrying

Please see attached updater log showing failed update due to "ed_sound.dll" I cannot delete the file manually after closing all programs as it insists it is in use with another program? Please advise as soon as you can Thank you

Honestly? And i have owned this module for the least time out of them all but i would say get the F86 Sabre. Dogfighting AI mig15s is truly great fun and you learn alot about combat maneuvres. Plus it has rockets and bombs and Reflected is releasing a new campaign for it very soon. It has a not too complex clickable cockpit and you can learn about the older navigation systems without overwhelming yourself with tech which will give you a solid base to build on for some of the later aircraft modules like F14/Hornet etc. I wish somebody told me this back when i started out tbh

Check your backup files aren't stacking up mate, my folder with a fair few modules and a few skins is only 180+ GB atm

Open the mission in the editor and remove the script which enables the text box? (ifthat can be done? i am no expert with the ME tbh)

Throttle should be reduced from 3 boost to idle as you cross the runway threshold, gentle flair adopting 3-point touchdown and short fast rudder adjustments to keep it straight as you roll to a stop, do not touch the brakes until you are all but stopped (at taxi speed basically). Anything more than a snap of rudder in either direction will send you wing-over and careering around on the grass or worse...

There are videos out there, even real piloting videos, which have helped me master the landing (master landing a spit? yeah right!!) Unfortunately i cant find any to share with you but there are many on youtube. Very tricky to nail down but so rewarding when you finally do

Mig 19 needs to be remastered since updated flight modelling a while back, if you don't fly it constantly it catches you off guard, requires a lower, smoother approach to the runway than most. Mi8 is a home wrecker at times too. Spitfire is the same as mig, when i practice it is a piece of piss but without practice and boing-boing-boing...
