Radio Altimeter Voice Warning System and RWR Implementation
Rover replied to VaporFlow's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I like the simplicity of the huey but maybe add a "crew" warning system. Instead of a RWR AI crewmembers could callout missile launches. This would also work against IR, doesn't some FC3 planes have a "missile detection" already? But yea will probably have to wait a few years for a "UH-1H 2" -
Maybe its just me and my setup but it feels like they have fixed a lot of issues with using the side gunner positions. Yes my head sometimes clip through stuff with IR tracking but it works much more smoothly and aiming down the sight on the m60 feels really good. Anyway Im glad that they are working on it. Oh and the loadout screen has new pictures/icons for m60 and minigun for gunners, rockets and copilot guns still look the same though. :/

I'v always had a unhealthy fascination for the P-47 for as long as I can remember, never thought much about it. Its funny how the mind works but today when watching a old WW2 training video it finally hit me, it was that characteristic wing shape that brought it all back. My English is not that good but I would describe it as a quick picture flash. I was maybe 5-7 years old and I'm opening a present, I can't recall from who but there it was, that very same wing shape. Slowly more pictures started to pop up from whatever old forgotten place they had been in the last decades. All the happy memories and all the adventures. I paused the video and rushed to the car, had no time to explain to my parents as I leaped up the stairs to their attic. I quickly found the box named "OLD TOYS" AND THERE IT WAS!...... so long forgotten but yet o so very much remembered, like an old friend you didn't know you missed, an empty unconscious hole that has finally been filled! Road Champs Flyer series "Thunder JUG" She has lived a hard life, maybe time for a restoration?

Tested it now after the latest update and i works great. "FRAMSTEG toggle" is the button I am using and when you unsafe the data display will tell you which station is selected by a flashing "1". Now you can save dose RB24s for easier targets and be confident that you have the more potent 74s selected :D There is a bit of delay with the Framsteg button but nothing serious.

Here's an crazy Idé, why not a map in Africa? Seriously, places like Vietnam, Afghanistan, Europe and the Middle East are cool and the wars that took place there are iconic but also a trite bit we all forget about probably the most war torn place on earth. Half of Africa is in some kind of conflict right now and for the last 80 years there has been more then 100 wars. Most small ones compared the WW2 but also many larger battles. Just take a look on youtube and you can find many interesting documentary's of wars you diden't even know ever happen. The terrain can be really diverse, jungles, savanna, mountains, lakes, desert, forest, the sea, city's, villages, big rivers.... Any aircraft currently in DCS can used without it feeling unrealistic. No need to take out an old Mig-17 from a museum to make a interesting campaign, old hardware can be used in more modern conflicts. You want to use a old Mig 21, F 5, Huey, mi8, french stuff or a F 86? then just go ahead and I'm sure a P51 found its way to Africa at some point after WW2  Old, beaten up ,dirty air-frames operating from an old dusty runway fighting in a hard brutal civil war :) It would bee great for helicopters and CAS. China has a big interest in Africa so might be good for that market and most other big powers has had an interest at one point or another, not just USA and Russia but many former colonial powers like France, hell even Sweden did some fighting there in the 1960s. You can do UN peacekeeping, mercenary work or just full on conflict. Size might be a problem since most countries are several times bigger then Georgia and there is a lack of big airports :D Anyway now I have finally gotten that out of my system so I can go back to waiting for the MI-24 and P47. :music_whistling: And my deepest apologies for any trauma you have endured because of my bad writing.:book: :joystick:

Framsteg works if pressed in the cockpit (but visually stays down after the first press) and I no indication of selected rack on the TAKT display. But better then using IR missile fast select to skip the Rb24 :D

Thanks, never could figure out how it works but now I get some of it haha. Is it normal for the R-points to be shown as white M points in the destination indicator? My graphics settings don't show color very well but I think it is: B = White S = Red MI = Yellow for recon target and Red for Attack target M = white for R corners and center point? Is this corect or am I missing something? Also think there is a typo in the manual for manually adding reconnaissance targets. ("Input of measured reconnaissance targets (M1 – M9) is done in the same manner as the corner points. Enter the coordinates or reference number, and confirm by pressing waypoint button L/MÅL and then the corresponding number on the data panel (ex: button B2 for M2).") Waypoints buttons are used for R points but I think you use the data number pad for M and S points.

One thing is för sure, there is a hell of alot of hours in a module, both before release and after. Great work guys.

Tried this out today, couldn't get the copied text to work but used the lines from my Viggen comm file instead and now works great in single player, dont show in Online servers but passes integrity checks.

Recently I'v noticed significant damage reduction for the RB04 vs ships, two robots only do 25-50 on smaller Russian ships while RB15 sinks them with one hit. Anyone noticed something similar? Why do I use the old robots?, because the smoke trail looks bad-ass. :P

Over water I find using the trim very helpful, takes some time to get it just right but with steady winds you can be surprisingly still.

[RESOLVED]Cockpit ilumination changes when NS430 popup is visible
Rover replied to danvac's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes looks much better, Thank you :) Now I'v actually started using it again. -
Viggen sand smoke. Possible bugs of IR missiles and Rb-05.
Rover replied to Schmidtfire's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Same here, also the RB15s and rb04s self destructs when the release aircraft is lost, like when the pilot spectates the missiles instead of actually flying and plummets into the water..... :P, cant remember that being the case before or if Im just crashes or gets shoot down more often :) -
Yea, have the same problem so probably bug, I actually use it a lot i MP to give the MEDEVAC pilots something to do. ;)

Jammer pod do work but its not a miracle worker, On a SA-10 it only gives you about 9 extra seconds before lock if your traveling 800km/h at 3000m, however the lower altitude you are at the bigger the difference, but this is just from my own testing, your result may vary :P Also the better the SAM crew is the less they are affected by jammers, above examples is a average crew, an exelent crew might only give you 2 sec extra ;)
