  1. The code spirits don't riday patches. If you patch on a Friday you will have to make an offering of Pizza and Coffee. Failure to appease them can lead to a working weekend!:music_whistling:
  2. I feel your pain my friend. Estimates is it will be ready when it is ready. I am on steam to and suffering really bad patch fever. But I am also a developer of many years and when you hit a deployment bug like this you get stuck in trying to fix it. It could be small, it could be large and everyone is on your back to get it fixed ASAP. So let us all give the guys at Eagle Dynamics a little room. Let them crack the bug, test it, QA it and get it to us in their own sweet time.
  3. Is it me or does the F/A-18 bleed energy. Even lightly loaded and on full afterburner you seem to loose speed very quickly. It gets chewed up by the F-14 in a sustained turn fight.
  4. The G-Limiter is there to reduce the amount of fatigue on the airframe and not the wings or stores parting the aircraft. On most aircraft there are no G-Limiters, however if you over stress and airframe it does need an inspection and that upsets the crew chief and you will have to buy him lots of beer.
  5. Looking forward to the MiG-23 Flogger. Once the work is done of course there is room to modify it into the MiG-27. That would give Red force much more punch. Also the Flogger will really add to the Cold War period.

  7. This movie will have all the cheese you could ever want. Looking at the movie I think he has an altercation with Goose's son over his father's death. He will get the girl and die testing the new stealth jet or using it to take on the baddies to save the F-18s from some fate worse than death before meeting his doom in a suitable heroic Hollywood fashion. End scene of ghostly F-14 carrying him to Valhalla.

    MiG-21 ECM

    I am at the office so I can't remember what the ECM pod of the MiG-21 is called but I gather that this was not working for sometime. Has this now been fixed and is it therefore worth fitting to my Soviet Pocket Rocket of Doom?
  9. While flying the F-18 the CBU-99 on CCIP now has a horizontal fall line regardless of the interval set. This appears to have occurred post the 1st November 2019 patch as the issue was fixed and running fine.
  10. Richard you can modify the weapons database to change the way the bombs perform. The problem is that this means that any server that checks for cheats etc picks up that the database has changed and bars you from them. I am looking at whether the weapons data can be modified in a mission when the aircraft is spawned or the weapon released.
  11. A couple of thoughts on the Falklands Map. We are talking the as of now or recent rather than during 1982. The reason being there was no Mount Pleasant air base at that time.
  12. While using CBU-99 I have had an issue where when the interval is set in the UFC the bomb fall line goes from Vertical to horizontal. Remove the interval and all is returned to normal. Any ideas?
  13. It is normal behavior. A rapier battery should have a single launcher and tacker etc. The version modelled in the game is in fact field standard B not A as it has the DN181 radar tracker. Normally Rapier units being Short Range Air Defence (SHORAD) would be fairly close together. You should use them like you would an AA gun system. Typically an airfield would be defended by between 4 to 8 launcher/tracker combinations. A single Rapier is pretty ineffective but as a group they are lethal.
  14. OK, I fixed this as it appears to be a problem with Voice Attack. I am not using this software at the moment and for some reason the overload function in the speech.lua function started using the voice attack version rather than the native one. This led to a null or empty object being referenced and a crash occurring. I commented out the voice attack version of the function and this 'fixed' the issue.
  15. All of a sudden I have lost all the sound of the menu from ATC, AWACs and Ground Crew etc. I have changed no settings or hardware. Any ideas?   17. It seems that there are lots of new aircraft people want to see in the game. The current set of companies are doing there best to satisfy demand. Trouble is you are looking at years to develop one aircraft to a beta release and even longer to finish it. Hence why they are so expensive. There either Eagle Dynamics need to spin off a subsidiary to just churn out content or someone out there needs to invest some serious cash. Developers, artist and modellers don't come cheap let along the marketing an support teams. If I win the lottery I would make the investment. :pilotfly:
  18. You are right about the distance but for fighters we had the F-4s which you did point out to. It was very unlikely that Soviet aircraft would have come from the East at least early in the war. Leaving long range bombers coming down from North Cape. The Su-22, Su-24 and Tu-95 were all very capable but no match for a well flown F3. The fact the F3 was not a fighter but as an interceptor was an advance on the aging Lightening. Ok it couldn't sit on its tail and vanish into the stratosphere almost passing the space shuttle on the way to ceiling like a Lightening, but it did have TWS style multi missile firing capability like the Tomcat. Still in game I want the GR1.
  19. The Tornado F3 was an interceptor and was not expected to take on fighters like the Flanker. They were part of UKADGE and were for intercepting incoming bombers such as the Tu-95 Bear or the even the SU-24 Fencer if it got in range of the UK. They were not expected to act as an air superiority fighter and they were not issued to RAFG. However they did send them to the Gulf during the first Gulf War, over Bosnia and later in Iraq again. Replaced eventually by the much more capable Eurofighter Typhoon. IMHO it would have fought well against bombers and heavy fighters but in a dogfight with lighter fighters they probably have struggled. Still a lovely aircraft and very much of its time. :pilotfly:
  20. I love this aircraft because of the quality of the model. Not just the flight model which is fun but the whole package. The weathered and used cockpit, the rattling on the edge of the envelope. The wonderful noise and animation of the missiles. Jester and his little witty comments.
  21. Or would it be easier for me to create a new weapon and add that? If so how?
  22. Is there any way of modding the amount of smoke produced by the practice bombs? Currently it is more like a smoke bomb and should really be just small shortpuffof smoke lasting no more than 10 seconds. I am new to DCS Modding but I am proffesional developer so coding holds no fear.
