  1. You are correct. It should not be that hard to implement. In theory. Since you mention C++ i would like to add my €0,01 of comment. I know little about the tech behind lo-mac. One do not know what the code looks like. I am doing coding myself -- one gets really weird code from people at different technical skills, who codes great apps, but those apps are a real pain to expand, bugfix, extend or to maintain. Especially if many people has worked on that code, added their own little quirks. In the end one have one big spagetthi bowl. The app probably works. Management is happy. Client is happy. BUT... Lo-mac probably has a legacy of code which came all along from the first version Su-27, that code of Su-27 --> Flanker --> Lo-mac was probably constantly being expanded to add new features to things which were already exist(ed). The fact that its could be hard to add a DC could be just that -- the code base of lomac could possibly not be compatible for such a plugin DLL. Correct me if i am wrong but someone at ED said that they will rewrite lo-mac from scratch for the Next Product. Probably the techies at ED has realised that lomac 1.xx is the end-of-the-line for the current lo-mac code base. Whatever ED does, i do congratulate them on the great work they are doing, what they will do and let us hope that the Next Product does have a DC. Now that was my €0,01 of comment.
  2. Yep, activating your radar will trigger its RWR. When you have a target locked with EOS you could activate the radar for a (split)second to see if its friend or foe. If your flying against AI's then even the slightest radar spike will trigger agressive maneuvers from enemy planes.
  3. Yes, but you need to activate the radar, by pressing the I-key. The default is that Schlem uses EOS for tracking. EOS is incapable of IFF.
  4. A bit off topic here A few years ago, the South African Airforce was looking at using american Hellfires on the Rooivalk helicopter. The precondition was that the SAAF releases all details about the Rooivalk. So i was told at a tradeshow by a company representative of kentron. Kentron then proceeded to develop the Mokopa anti-armour missile. http://www.kentron.co.za/Home.asp?Page=antiarmer.
  5. Something REALLY cool will be if one could use Google Earth as AWACS program. Export map data to Google Earth, does it support import of data?
  6. For anyone interested, Google Earth is a great addition to lo-mac. Using the Google Eart program I have zoomed in to spots where Ice have pu the EWR-radars.
  7. What your suggesting is like one of the stock H2H multiplayer missions that came with lo-mac 1.0. Sounds nice though.
  8. :), how does one tell a tanker/AI-aircraft to refuel? Usually they just run for the nearest airfield or crash.
  9. huh, the Tu-142 can refuel from a tanker?
  10. In about 99.999% of all online flying there is absolutley no desire for any co-op flying, teaming up or anything which resembles something like that. Pity. Ice i look forward to fly your mission in the weekend.
  11. I have done airrefeulling in Su-33, and have watched a air refuel training track by IRONHAND. However i havent ever even once tried a refuel with either the F-15 or A-10 neither have i seen any tracks or videoclips of anyone who has done air refuelling. What indicators are on the HUD for connecting the tanker boom to the F15/A10? Has anyone done a airrefuel, or have a track available? I'd like to try but a example will be helpful.
  12. sorry my mistake, but i meant to say: the client program must not "Disconnected from server" when one ends a mission. it should always try to stay connected.
  13. Now thats something that really ticks me off is those wingmen, when running low on fuel they will disobey all orders and head to the nearest airbase. Even when there are massive AAA and SAMs at the base. Instant suicide for the stupid AI's. Hope ED will someday do something about this AI behaviour.
  14. i have ahd the same situation as you.. i got russian CD-version as a gift. You could copy from your english downloadversion the file lo-mac\FUI\EnglishVersionUserInterface.cfg to your installation as lo-mac\FUI\russianversion\UserInterface.cfg. I am South African, and have translated the english texts to Afrikaans, check as example the attached file. EnglishVersion.zip
  15. hi! I have a request. When one quit lomac, or exit a missin, yor lotactc-server proggy program responds with a message that no network is available. Now everytime i click FLY in lo-mac i have tomanually restart both the server and the client proggy. My request: Please remove that message and allow the server to allways try to maintain/establish a connnection with lo-mac, even when lo-mac is not running. Hope you can add this.
  16. I havent downloaded it, is it 2048*2048? Ice, if its not 1024 could you make a 1024*1024-version too, please? Somehow all the pretty 2048-skins makes my Geforce 6600GT 128Mb in lo-mac go to 1fps or less :(. Very nice skin in any ways :).
  17. Most definitley it is great that those 7 men were saved. On the other hand it is also sad to know that the russians themselves were unable to assist. Bearing in mind that this small incident portais a fraction of something which is very much bigger -- life in russia in the present time is as this sub. I whish all the best to people of the russian federation, and their subs, ofcourse to ED for making lo-mac :).
  18. I agree on this. Implementing a missionditor with scripts and triggerpossibilities will not be easy. If the editor itself could support copy-paste, that would already mean a HUGE improvement in usefullness. Support for the windows built-in Clipboard so one could copy obejcts between missions would be a added bonus. Ofcourse everyone has his wishes. ED has given attention to all aspects of lo-mac: flightmodel, ECM, radars etc but havent done anything yet to make the life of missiondesigners easier. Please ED, in the next path due include cop-paste/clipboard-support for the Mission Editor.
  19. It's really encouring to notice that ED is accepting models from the lockon community :). I am really looking forward to be on the receiving end of this Phoenix :).
  20. Its a Loman package. Loman is a freeware proggy which packages lo-mac addons into a ZIP-archive. You neeed to install Loman first, then drop a add-on ZIP into Loman' addons folder, then start Loman, select the addon u whish to install. Its in fact dead easy to use. Get loman 4.0b3 from http://www.checksix-fr.com/bibliotheque/index.php?page=detail&ID=2812 This addon is just anoter loman addon. Install and enjoy :)
  21. When i was still a nitwit with the russian language i called her "Katushka" and she thought it was funny. I never knew why? But, my brother' wife (a russia, too) told me that a "Katush" is the needle for clothing handwork!! Hahahahaha, oke so i got the joke too :P. Well it's always nice to learn some new russian words :). in 8 weeks i am going to Peterburg, Moscow, Volgograd, Nizhnij Novgorod so i will have plenty of oppertunity to practise the language there :)
  22. Russian names Russian woman have poetic names.. :) My ex girlfriend' name is Katserina, but also known as Katya, Katshush, Katshushka. Now i have it quite simply as Vika coz thats the only variation for Victoria. Perhaps Vikush is a differnt for my girfriend Vika? :) :) Russian names are just poetry.
  23. ED is rightfully not making any comments about a patch releasedate -- if they did we would have had mass histeria on the forums. Now all is thankfully calm. We will get it when its ready and not anytime sooner. When it is released it will be packed with goodies :).
  24. I have bought countless of FPS shooters, the msot recent addition in my collection is Battlefield2. Graphically it excels, however its not ANYWHERE nowhere close to Operation Flashpoint. Yea, sure, OFP is alread dating from >2001, with current updates.. but even so, all other games does not have the imerssion which OFP have. Neither OFP nor lo-mac is the real $30k deal, though but close enough for us armchair soldiers, ex combatants and would-be real life pilots ;). If somehow OFP and lo-mac could merge then one would end up with one heck of a simulation. As someone has pointed out previously, it would probably take another 10 years before any game engine is advanced enough to merge OFP and Lo-mac. Meanwhile we will have to wait.. Some other idea was to use a network to share game files etc. but then one cant jump into cokpit etc etc. Probably the most feasible multiplayer solution is if for example, OFP could do the task of groundwar while lo-mac takes care of airwar. Two game engines could communicate to share a incredible air-ground experience.
  25. those must be Russian girls, coz they walk around "in the wild" in Russia. My girlfriend is russian she comes from Volgograd now lives in NL :).
