  1. Hi, I'm using a TM Warthog with Rift VR. In the UI layer I have the mouse wheel back forward mapped to a switch on the throttle (China Hat?) which I use primarily for dialling in course/heading on the nav instruments. However, one click only moves 1 degree so if I have to change it from 030 to 210 ... well you get the problem. I don't have the mouse enabled as I find it easier (with a couple of exceptions) to move the VR cursor and press a button mapped to right/left click. Is it possible to have a setting (or is it possible now) for buttons to allow repeat if you hold it forward/backward?? Thanks, James
  2. Agreed, lovely plane to fly, but really quite frustrating ... if you don't get the head-on shot, they're gone :(
  3. I noticed this on my first flight :(
  4. Even with my varifocal glasses (not ideal), problems with lenses steaming up or getting grotty, my nose getting tickled, visible pixels, generally lower detail, recently having to buy a new USB card for no reason, links to Facebook, etc. it is worth it :) Takes 'flying' to a whole new level - landings seem easier and I even did an A2A refuelling, not having done one in months first time, just because it feels easier.
  5. Definitely seeing a wobble (like ripples) in the hud on a few occasions .. seems to be when the sun is in the hud.
  6. Although a bit further to reach, the mini-stick push works, thanks ... now if only I could figure out how to do a mouse wheel on the HOTAS :)
  7. On a related topic, what do you do with the mouse left/right click? I've mapped the right/left mouse click to the rocker/hat? button on the Throttle in the UI layer?? This works well in other a/c, but on the Hog it means you can't to a lot of the TP/Mav handoffs etc. and I was wondering what you use.
  8. Really getting into this great plane in DCS and a couple of things seem odd: * I can map TDC left/right/upbut not down! I guess the proper answer is to map it to the axis control on the throttle. * I use a OR and can't figure out how can I turn the HSI course and heading dial? I have mouse wheel up/down mapped to a 3 pos button on my Warthog throttle, but if I click it it only moves the knob a small amount, about 2 degrees. So if I need to dial in a 90 change I have to click the button 45 times :( Anyway you can map an auto-repeat on a button? I've tried changing press to down in the lua, but can't see much difference. Thanks, James
  9. Did a remove module and add module and then a quick test ... I started in the cockpit, so looks to be fixed. Thanks for your quick response BIGNEWY.

  11. Ok, will do ... yes, I'm fairly sure I was flying in the previous 1.5 release and also in 2.0.
  12. Hi, not sure where this should be reported, but when I start the F-5 intercept mission with the latest 1.5.4 beta I start in F10 view and can't get into the cockpit :( This is also the case when I create a mission and set the plane as Player, when I start, I'm in map view and can F2 to the plane but not into it ... controls don't work either. I created a mission with a different plane and that works ok, eg Sabre.
  13. Hi, Running v2 without issues really on the Rift, but having just installed 1.5.4, its unplayable - the entire screen flashes (appears/disappears) :( Rgds, James PS> Awesome work integrating with Rift guys, flying v2 is just amazing!
  14. Just upgraded from a 5 year old, once state of the art 480GTX (virtually unplayable) to a 6GB 980Ti ... wow :)
  15. Absolutely worth it ... I haven't played it as much as I'd like to, but the missiles modelling is better (and set to improve), the 6DOF and the general look is much improved. Plus its still in beta so things will only get better :) Only down side is no more Crimea.
  16. Its not a "notion" its whats written on the page ... just saying "read the document again" over and over again gets us nowhere. Personally I don't care what the thing does ... the Russians systems have their strengths (look at the Archer, way ahead of the AIM-9 in many ways) and so do the US (money, electronics and miniaturization). Like ECM and radar, the DCS implementation of missile systems will never give us all the modes in the real systems on either side. I don't even want it to be fair, the US invested billions, while the Russians didn't have money to invest .... this should be reflected. As long as its believable. So please don't tell me that I see what I want to see! Back on subject, so what is the difference between "Multiple Target Attack" (which I believe is what you are referring to) and "Clustered target assignment" aka SPAM Mode? Launch a bunch of missiles and they will sort out which missile gets assigned to which target?
  17. What sort of reply is that, if I read it 5 times, it won't change the words on the page ... it says what it says. If there is a section that contradicts that sentence, please tell me what it is.
  18. Perhaps you should re-read the part I referred to: The MISSILE is capable of SORTING multiple targets and picking individual targets for each missile launched against and UNRESOLVED group of targets. This states that its the missile that has the intelligence even when the launch a/c has yet to resolve the target ... this implies that you can just 'spam' a bunch of missiles and they will sort out which missile goes after which target ;)
  19. Maybe ... I'd love to know what is meant on P4 of http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a355385.pdf by "The missile is capable of sorting ... ". Does this mean a group of missiles in flight communicate with each other?
  20. They advertise it as a feature on the Meteor in the marketing glossy (http://www.mbda-systems.com/mediagallery/files/Meteor_ds.pdf), so I'd assume its been in the 120 for a while!
  21. Its more a "Fox 3 ... boom!" :( My BFM isn't that good!
  22. Although twice now I have been shot down by my wingman with 120s firing from behind me ... so much for a smart missile! Is the arming mechanism linked to the locked target?
  23. I'm just so pleased to see the terrible FC2 hi-lo/lo-hi missile ranges start to reflect the physics! :)
  24. Thanks Viper, I'll give that a go.
