I suffered from motion sickness for a week when I first tried VR six years ago. The only time I get sick is when fps drop below 45 for an extended period of time. I also void playing "walking" games, they make me sick instantly. Flying and racing sims I can play for hours without any problems. I tried OpenXR mod yesterday. I didn't notice any performance improvements but I did notice a lot more artefacts. OpenXR renders the game in 30fps and extrapolates new 60fps to make 90fps. It might feel smoother if your PC cannot render 45fps with SteamVR but for the price of more artefacts.

You sound like someone who never played in VR with decent framerates and don't know what smooth actually feels like. Console players used to defend they machines saying 30fps is all they need and human eye would even not notice a difference between 30 and 60fps. If I had 30-40 fps in VR I would stop playing DCS long time ago.

You are talking about performance, I am talking about artefacts. -

What other modules? Those without rotor or propeller discs in view? Apache works well with reprojection in steamvr. -
OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Marklar replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
Just did some tests and as expected it's pretty useless, at least for me. The only positive thing it does is disabling steamvr, apart of it everything else is either the same or worse. Artefacts with motion reprojection enabled are terrible, especially in Apache. IHADSS text and lines are all over the place when the rotor disc is in view. Reprojection can either be forced on or off, automatic does not work. By default OpenXR renders an image in 30hz and reprojects it to 90hz. That's why some people here claim it's smoother than steamVR where threshold is 45hz. Because openxr renders one frame and extrapolates 2 new frames (in comparison steamvr extrapolates only 1 new frame) we have more artefacts. I am back to steamvr but thanks for trying. -
can not reproduce Hellfires missing targets designated by JTAC.
Marklar replied to Marklar's topic in Bugs and Problems
So what did I do wrong? After I killed the first target JTAC switched to the next one but Hellfires were missing their target, as shown in the video. I think 4th or 5th missile finally killed it. -

Marklar replied to Marklar's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thx. Will try changing LRFD but I think it's set to FIRST by default. There is nothing in front of the tank so FIRST should be the correct settings in this situation, I guess. JTAC is a drone orbiting above the target. -
In this example out of 8 Hellfires I fired only 2 hit the target. The laser code is correct, missiles can spot and tracks the laser but for some reason they hit the ground next to the target. Missiles were fired from pilot cockpit using all three modes (direct, low and high trajectory), acquisition was set to a waypoint in targets area. I tried the same mission in Hornet using AGM-65 E and all four fired missiles hit their targets so JTAC and lasing is not an issue. track file 9MB https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiifDDoPHoDqhJQ-CxrHKBpZsdDqHg?e=0zOymZ short video showing the missile launch and impact.

You would be correct if we were talking about RL. In DCS unguided rockets are useless for two reasons. 1st we have a terrible damage model for ground units. 2nd unguided rockets are usually used to suppress enemy fire. It won’t work in DCS. Enemy will keep shooting with the same sniper precision no mater how many rockets explode around them.

An Idiots Guide to Firing Hellfires with George [Tutorial]
Marklar replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Firing hellfires in LOBL mode is pretty straight forward but tell me how to do it in LOAL mode with low and high trajectories? -
Yes, as shown in this video.

Wheel chocks do work in DCS, don't know why you think they don't. Request them from ground crew via radio. I had similar issue when I replaced my rudder pedals from CH Pro to MFG. For some reason DCS assigned them to throttle even though it was not shown in the controls menu. Try to start Viper without rudders connected to PC.

Petrovich and Low Light Visibility - Petro Is Not A Bat
Marklar replied to ColonelColt's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
In the latest video "WWII Development Update" ED mentions about AI inability to engage targets in low light environment. Maybe it's the same thing that causes Petrovich's eye sight problems. -
correct as is Default loadout keep appearing even after deleting
Marklar replied to Raviar's topic in Bugs and Problems
You can delete \DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\F-16C\UnitPayloads\F-16C_50.lua to remove all default loadouts. It will be restored after every update so you will have to do it every few weeks or so. -
Why JTAC does not provide GZD? How should I know whether target is in 38T or 37T grid?

moving gun boats, target and engage with mavs challenge
Marklar replied to AngryViper.101's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
When you locate them visually use Maverick in BORE mode and lock them using crosshair on the HUD. Personally I'd use unguided rockets instead. SEA radar and Mavericks are broken so I'd wait until they fix it some day. -
If you don't care about RL procedures and want to boresight mavericks quickly without using TGP, just lock any target in either BORE or VIS mode and hit BSGT. Maverick will boresight magically to all the sensors, including TGP.

Please see attached track file. I dropped 4 bombs, two hit the target, two overshot it by 2,000ft or more. A 4K video footage from this test. The failed attempts at 1m15s and 2m25s. f16bombs2.trk -

In windy conditions I learned to aim off a target and make a guess how far bomblets will drift. It's good to have a smoke nearby to check where the wind is blowing. See my video I recorded a few days ago. On the first run I placed the pipper in the centre and you can see how far bomblets drifted away. On the second run I aimed to the right of the targets and had much better results. There was also a third run at 4m:40s where CCIP went bonkers. I placed the pipper, Solution Cue appeared on the HUD but it got stuck for some reason. It was not moving down as it suppose to. When this happens bombs always overshot a target. I cannot figure out why this is happening and what I am doing wrong. -

Marklar replied to Csgo GE oh yeah's topic in Bugs and Problems
CCIP is calculated for dispenser, not bomblets. When they deploy parachutes they do drift a lot with strong wind. I don’t think it was always the case but it’s how they work since October update. Turn off wind in mission editor and you will see a difference. -
I have radar cursor switch mapped to axis (modded Slew Control on Warthog Throttle) and it works perfectly on FCR, HSD and TGP pages. On MAV page however, slewing maverick seeker is a nightmare. The dead zone is so big I need to move the mini joystick half way through its movement range to make maverick cursor start moving. Also sensitivity is too high and when the seeker starts moving it's difficult to control it and make small adjustments. Does anyone else have this problem or it's just me? Is Radar Cursor Switch in real Viper a mini joystick or a hat switch? If the latter I will remap it to Coolie Switch.

Marklar replied to Csgo GE oh yeah's topic in Bugs and Problems
Dropping them with CCIP pipper inside the HUD was never a problem. They occur when you designate a target with pipper outside the HUD, usually in a shallow dive. -

Marklar replied to Csgo GE oh yeah's topic in Bugs and Problems
Has anyone found a proper way of dropping these bombs? They are so inconsistent. I did two passes trying to hit the same target. First time bombs overshot it by 100-150ft, on second pass they dropped right on target. -
Severe performance drop in MP after changing planes/slots
Marklar replied to cfrag's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I have to deal with this bug every time I fly online, whether I swap planes or not. It's been like this for several months now. Alt+tab fixes it every time.
