45fps is not acceptable to me in VR. I am very disappointed with 2080ti performance in this game. I was hoping if I spent $1.000+ for a graphic card I will be able to fly in DCS without any fps drops. I have two options now: wait another 5 years for faster GPU and CPU or switch back to track IR. Both are terrible.

You need solid 90fps. Anything below is not acceptable. ASW will smooth out the game but it brings artifacts.

I recorder it over a year ago when visiting RAF museum in London.

What is a max graphics, lag free setup for Oculus Rift?
Marklar replied to WelshZeCorgi's topic in Virtual Reality
I have Intel 6700K @4.4GHz plus GTX 980ti OC and it's not enough to run DCS 1.5 on max settings. I use pre-defined VR settings with supersampling set to 1.5 and some planes/helis can drag fps down to 30-40. For example Ka50 when you fly low over a big city with turned on Shkval. If you have over 200 fps on full HD monitor on high settings you will have lag free game in CV1. VR eats 2-3 times more fps than a single 1080p monitor. -
Dear oculus rift cv1 users. Is it really worth it!
Marklar replied to boedha68's topic in Virtual Reality
VR is great for casual and non-combat flying but you will struggle in a dogfight against pilot with trackir. They will spot you earlier and you won't be able to identify them (friendly or foe) until they are very close. You will also need a high end PC to achieve stable 90 fps. Some people are happy with 45 fps but I get sick when fps drop below 90, even with Asynchronous SpaceWarp ON. -
Don't forget to buy GTX 10000.

Control-Numpad1: Disables ASW and returns to the standard rendering mode. Control-Numpad2: Forces apps to 45Hz with ASW disabled. Depending on the application, you are likely to experience judder. Control-Numpad3: Forces apps to 45Hz with ASW enabled. Enabling and disabling ASW will help you see the effects of ASW. Control-Numpad4: Enables ASW. ASW automatically turns on and off, depending on whether the app maintains a 90Hz frame rate. This is the default runtime rendering mode. I've just done FPS comparison between VR and nonVR mode using the same scenario - Ka50 free flight over Sukhumi. Very simple mission with almost non existent AI. I was flying straight towards the town. At the start of the flight FPS were just over 200 (nonVR) and gradually dropped to about 150 when I was over the town. In VR mode I took the same flying path and FPS dropped from 90 (locked) to 50. I am using graphics settings from this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=172537. It means most settings are low, off or minimum. My PC specs are: i7 6700K@4.5GHz, GTX 980ti OC, 16GB 2400Mhz RAM. My conclusion is simple. This game is unplayable in VR mode. I doubt GTX 1080 would make a big difference. Whoever is saying that he has stable 90FPS is either lying or using NASA supercomputer.

I bought my Rift from Oculus store for £529 (including delivery) 6 days ago. They ship it from Netherlands via UPS.

Still no civil traffic. Hotfix 2 changelog says it has been restored but roads around Batumi airport are empty. I checked with high and medium settings.

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?
Marklar replied to Chizh's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Gtx 770 2gb -
Could you please create one torrent file for all modules and DCS world? I think it will be very convenient for users who prefer to do fresh install rather than using autoupdate. Those who don't want to download certain modules can always deselect them in torrent client.

If you don't have 100% of DCS content you should not call yourself a loyal supporter ;).

Just found this one on Reddit https://www.dropbox.com/s/kb47biu7he5is6i/Martin_Renders_LOSLAMs.pdf

Yeah, I knew that. Just wanted to show my video ;). But thanks for the explanation anyway.

Lumax it works!!! Thank you! I submitted an official ticket last Friday but still no response from ED support. Really disappointing but at least we have very helpful community.

I've just bought P-51 and now I am unable to play online. Every time I try to connect I am getting error "Invalid serial number". I went to the website linked above, unbound all serials but it didn't solve my problem. Any suggestions? update: I deactivated Mustang mod and multi-player works! Am I happy? No. Whenever I activate P-51 multi-player stops working.

One week with DCS Warthog, TM HOTAS and TrackIR5
Marklar replied to dr_After's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I sold a few days of my annual leave to get TW Hotas :). It was worth it! -
Difference btween the 2 campaigns (apart from CA)
Marklar replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You don't need CA mod to play CA campaign but you won't be able to complete some missions (see #3 post). If you want to start from ramp in the original campaign you can edit missions in the editor and change takeoff from runaway to ramp. -
What to do when you complete a mission in a campaign
Marklar replied to Turtle47's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Exactly! When your score is 100 it means mission is completed and you can RTB. -
Maybe just limited success... but YES!!!
Marklar replied to MatzWarhog's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You forgot about air-refuelling ;). -
SAM recognition for newbs to A-10C/ DCSW
Marklar replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
If you are close enough to be able to recognise SAM vehicle it means the SAM is short of ammo. Otherwise you'd be dead already :).
